Good - A block from UCF main entrance. Nice setting/landscape. Very welcoming and helpful front desk folks. Quiet room as requested. The best ever warm chocolate chip cookies - upon checking in and any other time one asks. Not so good - Dim lighting in the room. Small window with heavy, unmovable side curtains that blocked possible natural light. Constant, loud din from the air conditioner. Tiny closet. Very low sink and toilet (I'm 5' tall and it still seemed unusually low). Weak shower - I have thicker, curly hair and didn't wash it because I didn't think I could get all the shampoo out).
Employees were amiable, polite and helpful. The place was clean, organize and you see constantly crews cleaning and sanitizing the place. The restaurant offered balanced menu with different option. Service in the bar was great, beverages were cold and crispy. Room was nice, clean and nicely decorated.
Our fourth visit to the hotel this year and yet again, no problems, just a nice weekend seeing our kids who live in Orlando. No need to stop to check in as you can go straight to your room and open the door with a virtual key downloaded from the app on your phone. We stayed in room 611 and had no complaints. Clean, fresh, great shower and beds and large TV on which I could watch a soccer game in comfort. Beats actually being there. Will be up again because I'm from a city and feel more comfortable there than in the smaller towns. And the main center of attraction for me was the Keurig coffee maker. No complaints there either.
We are Diamond Hilton Honors members, so we stay in Hilton brand hotels frequently. This was my first experience with a Double Tree. I wasn’t impressed. The bed sagged in the middle. I felt like I was constantly rolling towards the middle of the bed. The water pressure in the sink and shower was horrible. I couldn’t hardly get the shampoo out of my hair. Every few minutes, the toilet ran. The hair dryer was disgusting. It had hair caked in the back and the entire surface of the dryer was sticky, really sticky. FYI, the room did not have a mini fridge or a microwave. Most hotels have them now, so I didn’t even think to look to see if it was an amenity. You have to use an ice bucket to keep anything cool. All in all, it served it’s purpose, but we won’t stay in this hotel again. There are several others around that are comparable in price.…
I’m on business I come every week I ran into Preston at the front desk today the customer service was amazing they make you feel like you’re at home the hotels beautiful clean very friendly and don’t forget about Aniya she’s amazing thank you so much for the great customer Service and keep up the great work
There are good reasons to stay here with caveats. We have two sons at ucf so we stay in this area regularly. Availability anywhere is often limited so that's always a factor. This is one of the closest places to ucf - walkable to games, events, etc. Parking is plentiful and free - some hotel parking lots fill up around here. There are places to get food/snacks that are walkable and the bar is big, lively, and fun on a game day. Staff is friendly. All of this is good, so good that we really want to stay here and have twice in the last year. But the rooms are warm, humid, dark, and most with double beds. This makes it hard to recommend staying here. Orlando is hot and muggy most of the year. The bathrooms have no fan and there are coffee cups but no cups for ice. So you end up in a very humid room that the a/c can't cool or dehumidify. Add in small beds and no fridge or cups for ice to make cold drinks and the discomfort trumps everything else.…
Very disappointed there were no refrigerators in the room. Not enough towels left for time in room Room was very dark not enough lighting. Used pool it was full of leaves, no pool towels when we went in or when we left the pool. Was not told there was no housekeeping during our stay. Daimond Member was not thanked at checkin. Staff at bar both nights was good.
The staff was great! At check-in , the staff was very welcoming. It was genuine care from employees who seem to love their jobs. Although there were many checking in , I didn’t mind the wait because everyone was trying to take care of us. I had a few minor concerns that were addressed with a smile and timely solution. The food was great ! I loved having the ability to not travel to get a drink or something to eat. I would definitely stay here again.
I checked in on-line and chose my room (single king bed). Upon arrival, the desk staff noted that I was checked in. He asked me something about a "double bed". I thought he meant that the room I chose now had a double bed instead of a king bed in it, and I said that was ok. I did not realize he assigned me to a different room. When I realized that and saw how dark the room was, I requested my originally chosen room. I asked him why I was asked to change my room, and he said something about the facility being short on a specific style of room. He was difficult to hear as he was speaking rather softly and behind the desk plexiglass. This was a busy college move-in weekend, and I do not quite understand how a room with a single king bed would be in more demand than a room with two beds. In any case, I made my reservation early, I chose the room I wanted from those available, and I felt I was not given all the information I needed to make a decision. Other issues were only two bath towels in the room (had to request one more), not enough shampoo and conditioner for two people for two days (given one each, had to ask for more, and no additional conditioner available), the room (the king!) was too dark, and the elevators were extremely slow. During my stay, the left elevator never opened for guests. As previously stated, this was a busy college move-in weekend in a six story building, and very inconvenient and unhealthy to be stuffed into one elevator with many people over and over again. I would not chose this property again. Staff was professional.…
Absolutely will not stay here again. Ice machines never work! With no refrigerators in rooms at least make sure ice machine can produce ice! Mold and dirt in bathrooms. So ill cleaned, drink containers under the bathroom sink. So many other hotel options for this price that include breakfast. Not worth it here. Will stick to Marriott.
