A friend and I stayed at POFQ for five nights. I had selected this hotel because it was smaller than most and the pictures looked beautiful. It did not disappoint. The room was clean but average; however it had a gorgeous view of the river and the old fashioned street lamps which was magical, and the mattresses and pillows were sublime. We were in building seven, which turned out to be quite a walk from transportation. If I were there again I would request a closer building (but looking at other huge resorts it was still a better walk than most). We never had to wait longer than ten minutes for a bus, and there was always room for us on them. Coming back from the parks it was sometimes standing only as the bus would also carry people to the Riverside resort. What also made the resort special were the cast members who always made us feel treasured. Bell services was also quick to assist. POFQ also had a very kind, helpful day manager who assisted me with a matter concerning my airline - he told me that was what Disney was all about - and it made me feel so thankful to be there and that Disney was not different than it had been from all those many years ago. Because of staffing shortages, the rooms weren't cleaned but trash was removed and there was always extra bedding and towel replacement. We only ate at Sassagoula once but it was good for a quick dining experience. The only disappointment was the beignets that many people had raved about. Pure and simple they are much heavier and taste like doughnuts. Perhaps someone was learning the trade, who can say. There is a shop that has souvenirs, sundries and some wonderful clothing in the lobby area. Walking around this resort was magical; it was so pretty with the river and all the trees. I was amazed how quiet it was. Although obviously it was packed I seldom saw many people out and about on the grounds. It had such a romantic vibe that I would think it would be perfect for couples.

Lovely relaxing Resort. We had A river view corner room. The room was clean and nice. Beds were very comfortable. Resort pool was heated and the kids loved it. Beignets were great And the resort food was better than our last stay at Caribbean Beach resort. It is a very quiet and calming resort. The boat rides are very relaxing. Great place to come back to after a long day at the parks. We stayed 8 days and never had a hiccup. Housekeeping came in every other Day and did towels designs for the kids and left beads. Great Disney theme and Magical resort.

Disney Port Orleans French Quarter was okay for Moderate resort at the beginning. Decorations were up but barely like you would see at an airport. The pool is awesome and bar inside had a great bartender on 12/20. However, never have I been to a resort that did not automatically care for the room nightly. They claim short staff while charging full price. I called customer service Brandon and there is no consideration because Disney does not need to appreciate customer service anymore. It’s COVID pressure for all of us but the money made is the same for half the work with disgruntled cast members who are hanging on by a thread. I feel for them as a healthcare worker cause you can tell. We were here earlier this year at the camp wilderness with the same down trodden cast members talking about a strike. We have a good friend who has been coming to Disney all his life and was an annual pass holder who said he refuses to go back after a recent trip. What’s going on Disney? Stocks up and money is up but your care for your workers are down? People who come here will see it. Regarding Port Orleans, I felt bad for the lady who brought towels because I was short at 11:30 pm. We had no towels left since we showered twice from the night before and the morning of our first day. The bussing from Hollywood to French quarter hardly exists and we begged a bus that was waiting for 10 minutes to have any hotel guests show up. There were two busses at the other hotel picking up just a few people at a time. It was raining and I was hanging on to my daughter who was sleeping and the bus feeling forced since it didn’t make sense decided to take us all of whom were frustrated watching the inequity with other bussing from other resorts. The staff seem like they are barely Disney cast because again they are likely forced to work holidays probably with the same pay and little support to take care of patrons who are probably not happy with the service. So far disappointed. My post will edit if this changes. My previous post was worse than this and I did not see it fair to leave it because I’m needing to consider the overall picture. Do not get Disney Genie!!!! It is a scam to squeeze money out of you. Every person I over heard was upset they paid extra for no extra benefit. I’m going to Epcot and got a “lightning lane” for 8 pm at the frozen ride, my daughter’s one ride and also bedtime. I have to wait 2 more hours to get my next request which will likely get me on the Finding Nemo ride at 8:30 pm with a 5 min wait. Yesterday’s Hollywood studio gave me a Tower of terror when it was 30 minute wait. I think the people waiting in line got there before I did. Nothing Genie helps here. What magic? Fast passes made Disney worth it to be at a Disney resort. Reconsidering for Universal next year. We were here 20 years ago for the 25th for our first time, my parents were here 1972, and we have come every year and have my Chase Disney where I do not want to disclose how much I have used it. Disney magic is losing its magic. It’s a shame because it is the 50th anniversary. My wife and I see the trash, no recycling effort except for straws ironically because of a turtle video on social media. The streets and bathrooms are like going to New York in the 80s. I remember a Disney that wanted garbage receptacles everywhere to prevent this and constant cleaning to keep the luster. It’s fading because employees make Disney sparkle so something is wrong with the business model over the past 20 years we have been coming.

The rooms are very old and seemed small in size. You could also here neighboring rooms very easily, and I don’t think they were being overtly loud. However, everything was clean and they left extra towels which was nice since nobody offers cleaning service anymore.

Had a quick 2 night stay at this resort to end our most recent Disney trip. This was our first trip to the French Quarter after staying at Riverside a few times. We really enjoyed the resort and I'd definitely consider staying here again! The resort is smaller than Riverside which is a huge advantage. Our room was less than a 2 minute walk to the main lobby/store/food court, bus stop and pool. I believe the rooms were recently updated and they were done very quaint and nice! We just really enjoyed the feel and vibe of the resort! The staff was very polite and helpful. The food court was standard food court quality. Not awful but not spectacular. The beignets were unbelievable like everyone says! The pool looked great even though we didn't have time to use it. The boat service to Disney Springs was nice as well. Overall, as I said, I'd consider staying here again, especially as part of a split trip!
