Hotel is centrally located to the downtown area. Plenty of (free) parking on the grounds, great bar and restaurant inside the hotel. VERY basic room but very clean. Pool bar only open til 5 on our stay- we wanted drinks for sunset and had a long wait inside the bar in the lobby.

The Lakeside Inn buildings and grounds are lovely and clearly popular. We had Sunday brunch there - something we were told we couldn’t miss while visiting Mount Dora. We were seated in Tremain’s Tavern and not thrilled with the comfort of the table/chairs (I felt like I was sitting in a bucket). The dining room (Beauclaire) while brighter, was oddly sparse. We ordered Eggs Benedict (average) and the Farmer’s Omelet (delicious and ample). The Bloody Mary was good but not great. Service was adequate but not attentive (never asked how everything was - would we like anything else). Frankly disappointed!

Very disappointed. Grounds are beautiful but interiors of buildings and individual guest rooms remind me of a funeral parlor. Obviously the owners decorated the interiors without professional help or their own good taste. Complex could be spectacular with an infusion of money and professional interior designer. Staff exceptional!!! Do not stay in main building!! Terrible smell of mustiness covered with chemicals with no fresh air.

We had breakfast at the Inn. The server shouldn’t have come to work. She was in a bad mood. There was 12 of us. The breakfasts were cold when delivered and please do not get the grits as they were horrible.

I will have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The location was perfect to the destination we were there to visit, which was a local antique and flea market.. The rooms were very clean, and the staff was very polite. For an older hotel, we were pleasantly surprised.

We requested a handicapped acces room and were given a room that required multiple steps to get into. When we asked fof a différent room we were offered one that stunk of mold and mildew. Then we were told too bad. They were a historic inn and did not have to comply wirh ADA. They feigned concern but basically too bad. Restaurant is good and our server was very pleasent We will never return. Pretty place but not worth the cost and hassle.

$250. Inn room was small, dark, shabby, zero charm, chipped, mismatched furniture, peeling paint. Inn was full so no options offered. Grounds lovely, location great. You can do better than this. Expected charming inn not 1980 motel room. One night, Nov 3, 2023.

The history of this Inn and the proximity to downtown Mount Dora is what drew my attention to staying here. I do not however believe it's worth what is being charged nightly to stay here. You will hear every single thing from your room- the neighbor zipping up their luggage, people walking up and down the stairs, the people walking by outside, the neighbor hopping into the shower. Literally everything. The beds and pillows are also the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced- possibly the same ones that were used back in the 1880s. I would recommend people tour this place and take in all the views but suggest you stay literally anywhere else.

Ok, it's a historic hotel so it's gonna have it's quirks. Includes sqeaky floors and doors that don't seem to shut quite right. My room was the lakefront king. Beautiful views what I could see through the pollen covered windows. Everything was clean except the closet. Ew..Mold, maybe? Tv and remote kind of worked. Bed was comfy. Bath was clean with just soap and towels. Grounds are very beautiful. Didn't eat there, walked to everything .Parking is limited and open to the public. So, mostly great, a little ..meh.

This is a slice of Old Fla - not south beach, Palm beach or Orlando - just old Fla before all the new stuff. The history of the area is worth learning. The hotel is very well maintained given its age. The location is great, staff is amazing , room was comfortable and the bathroom was prefect. Ask for a Lake side view - Sunsets are awesome. Plenty to do and see.
