The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Miami Airport & Convention Center offers a convenient location highly valued by guests for its proximity to the airport, downtown, and the beach, along with ample parking. While the resort-like breakfast area and special touches like cookies are appreciated, some guests have noted a less appealing atmosphere due to noise and dated decor. Room opinions vary, with comfortable beds and views often overshadowed by noise and cleanliness concerns. Cleanliness is mostly praised, though some issues with housekeeping are mentioned.
Service quality fluctuates, with some staff members receiving accolades, while others are viewed as unresponsive. Mixed feelings extend to amenities, with the breakfast and event services generally well-received, in contrast to reported pool and shuttle service shortcomings. Travelers have also expressed dissatisfaction with additional costs, questioning the overall value for money.

There is a free shuttle from the airport - easy to find and about a 10 minute drive. The check-in was easy and they offered a free cookie. Room was good size, tv had lots of channels. I went to breakfast as soon as it opened and it was mostly just hot food - good. But there was not yogurt or fruit. There were just some white bread, no bagels or anything. I don't know if they would put that out later. It seems like it was mostly cruise ship crew at that time. The servers and staff were efficient and friendly.

We stayed here the night before our cruse, and there are some good and bad things about the hotel.
The airport shuttle was quick to pick us up and get us to the hotel. The hotel is near a small gas station but no other restaurants or bars so if you don't have a car you are very limited as to food/drink offerings unless you want to take an Uber/Lyft/Taxi or have food delivered in.
The room itself was ok, but older. Limited areas to plug things in (Chargers/Laptop), all had to be plugged into lights - no direct wall outlets. Windows were VERY dirty - Hard to see out of them. Room really never got cool, however my friend's room nextdoor got very cool. Hallway smelled musty, but I didn't smell it in the room.
Hilton no longer gives out free breakfast to Diamond/Gold members, and the Executive lounge is still closed for COVID - , however does give a 12 dollar credit for Gold/Diamond that can be used anytime of the day in restaurant. Since we had no vehicle, we ate dinner at the restaurant, the food was good but the service was SLOW. 3 tables were filled, and it still took 45 minutes to get our food (which was good for the price). We also ate breakfast on site, and service was much faster.
The pool area was nice, pool was a great temperature as was the Jacuzzi.
It is a nice one night stopover before a flight or cruise, however certainly not a destination hotel, and could use some maintenance on the AC and the musty hallway smell and window washing!

I am Diamond w Hilton, so I love this brand. Somewhat disappointed w this property for the following reasons. First: I called ahead of time and was told there was a buffet breakfast (which I normally love). When we arrived we found out the buffet was only on the weekends. Instead, there were breakfast vouchers for the weekdays and we were really limited in ordering off the menu (though the wait staff was very accommodating in giving us a tiny bit of "extras," like hash browns on the side of our eggs when technically this was not allowable using the voucher). Also, the Diamonds got $15 per person per day for use on food, which me to #2: the $30 per day was in no way sufficient to eat given the pricing. The average entre was over $25. With the tax and 18% tip automatically included for each item, $30 left us short every day, noting that I had planned on using my $15 and my wife's $15 to feed HER only and I was going to eat tuna from the grocery. THIRD: the executive level was closed and has been since the pandemic. This sucks for obvious reasons. Other properties have found a way to reopen this perk. FOURTH: maybe this is a nit-pick item but it irked me that the dinner menu says entrees come with either rice or mashed potato. I ordered the snapper, asked for it w potatoes and was told that it only came with rice. To make matters worse, the manager argued with me when I asked for the "exception" after being told that I could not be accommodated. The statement was that "only certain entrees can come w potatoes, but my wife was dealing w a surgery and was unable to do rice altogether. In the end, I was accommodated at no extra charge but I had to fight a bit harder than I would have liked for an item clearly marked on the menu. FIFTH: the hotel is a bit older. It's fine for me but I'm comparing it to some other Doubetrees I recently stayed at and there was a noticeable difference. We were given an "upgraded" room but it was not too fancy and the upgrade was apparently in the size of the space and the pullout (which was well needed bc of my wife's surgery; she needed the entire bed). Now the good: the customer service was decent and they tried their best even though they were always dealing w a ton of people. Also: the eggs benedict with salmon (on the breakfast menu) was terrific; it made the lack of buffet more able to stomach. No pun intended. Overall: I'm still a fan of the brand, but there are some things I wish I would have known.

Extremely dissatisfied. First of the Room AC was not working properly, TV, light fixtures, & alarm clock was unplugged. We couldn’t connect the tv due to the cord being behind the big tv stand. Room was never cleaned by housekeeping, requested clean linen towels and never received them. Bathroom rooftop was falling (pictures to prove) no toilet tissue. I can go on and on. Really disappointed, I’ve stayed at this location plenty of times in the past for karate tournaments and had never experienced something like this. Wish there was an option that would allow to upload photos

Any female or male that is having cosmetic surgery or any surgery ... even having a menstrual cycle could get u taxed $125 dollars please be aware please bring your own bedding and towel this hotel is not accommodating and will charge u up $400 for sheets and towels if any blood gets on them. I wasn't able to continue my stay I had surgery yesterday and had to check out because the damages cost more than the stay and I don't even want to sleep on the bed I'm very hurt and disappointed and in a lot of pain and now instead of resting I have to find another hotel I've always been treated with the upmost respect in doubletree this location took me by surprise I even brought doggy pads to minimize the bleeding .. but if your having surgery please save your money or come prepared to sleep in the floor or the couch instead of that bed ! I had already Alerted the lady at the front desk and she saw me when I came in from surgery and she didn't even think to mention that there would be a 400 dollar charge ! This was so insensitive and I'm one day post op looking for another place to stay and I can barely walk
I don't want this to happen to anyone else!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on your recent experience. We would like to apologize for the service experience that may have led you to believe that we do not care for our guests. We make it our #1 priority to exceed our guests expectations. I can imagine the frustration during your post surgery to have to deal with this inconvenience. Doubletree takes their disinfecting precautions serious, and unfortunately on this case, the times involved would not be available to use. Which led to a fee. However, we made the necessary adjustments on your bill and on the process to assure this does not occur again with our guests. We are sincerely apologetic for inconvenience this may have caused. Again, thank you and I hope you can give us an opportunity to make it right.

I rented a suite room 204, to my surprise when I entered the room the floor looked it was not vacuum, the room was dusty and the bed sheets were dusty as well. The furniture were all damaged and had scuffs all over. But to make matters worse, one of the beds had blood stains. When I called the front desk I was told that they didn’t have another room like this one. I just asked them to come clean the room and remove this mattress and bring another one that was clean. They simply say NO WE CAN’T WE DON’T HAVE ANY OTHER MATTRESS. I asked the manager if he could move us to another room and he say that because their is 5 of you in one room you would have to pay for an additional room. This escalated to a verbal argument and I just simply took my family and left this location. I will never stay here in my life and I will talk this place down every chance I have.

Stayed 3 nights recently to attend a convention. Downloaded the app and was able to choose my own room and access it via digital key without ever going to the front desk. Was able to also use their very nice, decent sized gym every day as well using the same digital key. It was rainy so I could not use the outdoor pool but it looked nice enough. They even had an indoor half basketball court, but that isn’t my thing.
My room faced a rooftop and the Miami Airport in the distance where I could see planes takeoff and land, but the distant rumble was quite low and did not interfere with sleep. The a/c worked great! The tv had 64 channels, including several hbo channels, food network, hallmark and all the usual lineups. The room was clean and housekeeping did come every day even though the app said they don’t unless upon request, but that worked fine for me. I did call down for a replacement coffee maker (the one I had was spewing hot water indiscriminately) and it was already replaced by the time I returned to my room 2 hours later. The hotel also followed up with me to see if everything was ok.
There were two other conventions going on, so I skipped the busy bar and buffet restaurant, preferring to pick up fresh salads st the grab and go next to the restaurant. I also downloaded the Miami Grill app, as that restaurant was adjacent to the hotel at the entrance to the indoor mini mall. I was able to place my dinner order for pickup at my convenience and my order was always hot and ready when I was. Also, be sure to check out Helena Chocolatier in the indoor mall as you walk through to the convention center. Their Peruvian chocolates are delicious! My favorite was the orange chocoteja.
The airport shuttle came within ten minutes of my call to the hotel/arrival at the hotel bus pick up area, and for my outbound trip, was waiting in front of the hotel ten minutes before the shuttle scheduled departure (its on a half hour loop to the airport - you just go downstairs just before the hour or half hour to catch a ride.)
Pricing was reasonable throughout. Considering how depressed the convention business has been the past two years, I was pleasantly surprised st how smooth my stay was.
But next time, I want my cookie!

I stay at this hotel every month, even during COVID-19, when I am in town on business so I was very surprised when I stopped by the front desk this morning and was told that because I checked in using the Hilton Honors app (did I mention I am a Diamond member), I didn't request room service so they couldn't schedule it until the next day. I was very surprised because there has never been a problem in the past and there is not place in the app for one to submit a request for service.
Now in the past they used to send me text messages asking if everything was ok and if there was anything I needed, that has stopped also. I can only imagine that this hotel is under new management.
Another thing is they have started to charge a 15% gratuity to all checks (ie., compulsory) and they don't disclose that either.
I generally like this hotel but I have seen over the last few months that service has been slipping. Last night in the bar area I had dinner and the placemat had crumbs on it.
I do have to say Sebastian was awesome with getting my room assignment but again, housekeeping screwed that up. When I went to take a shower this morning there was no shower curtain to close so there was water all over the floor creating a dangerous area to get ready for work in the morning.
Just very disappointing.

Customer Service was horrible and very unprofessional. Rooms were canceled because I did not respond to their text (never received a phone call). Rooms were filthy, bathtub looked as if someone showered and left reside and particles in the shower. The toilet had dried urine stains, as if someone urinated on the toilet and did not wipe it down afterwards. There were no bath towels available because "Other guests had not turned them in", so I had to use personal towels. In addition, the sofa couch was a pull out chair and there was no linen for that either. There were half-empty water bottles that apparently someone had prior to our arrival. The window seals were dirty and dusty and the curtains were old, dirty and outdated. There was no refrigerator or microwave in the rooms. The only accessible microwave was at the front desk, where you check in at. All this information was given to the manager on duty, who acted as if he did not care and did absolutely NOTHING!!! A horrible experience and I would never return to this hotel!!!!!

We were here one night pre-cruise. Room 1123 on the Executive floor was large, very clean with comfortable beds. The hotel seemed to check all the boxes for 4 Star status except perhaps the room decor and bathroom fixtures are a bit dated. This did not bother us and was more than offset by excellent service and value throughout.
The highlight for us was the food in the Tapas and Burgers Bar (Ceviche and Mahi Tacos highly recommended) and the buffet breakfast in Impressions Restaurant. The latter was impressive for a chain hotel and, as captioned, comparable to what one would find in a 5 Star hotel. It had a complete array of breakfast items (including smoked salmon) and a made-to-order station. Table service was excellent. We wish to single out Food and Beverage Supervisor Hortensia Armand for praise in the professional way she handled a mix up on our part. It was and is much appreciated.
