The Regency Miami Airport by Sonesta garners mixed reviews, with guests praising its overall cleanliness and the comfort of the rooms. However, some travelers feel the value is compromised by unexpected charges and misleading deals. While the hotel's amenities, including a shuttle service, are frequently acknowledged as positive aspects, the additional costs for breakfast and spotty internet are drawbacks.
Opinions on room quality vary, highlighting maintenance issues and an outdated look, yet others are satisfied with the cleanliness and space. Service experiences also differ, with commendations for staff helpfulness offset by shuttle service inconsistencies.

Hotel's Favorite
I have been staying at the Regency Hotel for many years for pre cruise accommodations- The rooms are very clean, The front desk staff, the Bar/Lounge Staff, and shuttle drivers are helpful and professional. The pool area is very large and very clean with outdoor restrooms and shower. The Bar Menu provides many options for lunch and dinner and the food is good quality and fair pricing. There is a restaurant on site as well and the Catch of The Day Next door. There is a Target fairly close we were able to walk both ways for water etc. There is also a Chevron with a little store across the street. Super close to the airport with shuttle running every 25 mins and $25 to $40 depending on your party to Uber to the port.

Parking was easy and close to the entrance. There was a bar in the lobby area, and a breakfast room.( the free buffet ends at 9 am, but they do have a made to order breakfast after that time for a charge.. The bar also had a food menu including sandwiches and a few entrees. Checking in had friendly service, but I didn't like having to fill out a name, address and email form. This is already in the computer with the reservation, and made the wait time to check in longer. Another form accepting, the no smoking, etc was fine. Upon entering our room, we found the room to be spacious and well appointed, but lacked the comfortable chair and ottoman that I saw in one of the posted pictures on this website. There was a fridge but no microwave. There were only 3 pillows on the king bed and we require 4. If these concerns were to be addressed, I would give a 4 star rating. Also there was no ice machine on my floor, so I popped my head into an open conference room, and asked if anyone knew where I might find ice. A charming man insisted on taking me to the floor where there was an ice machine. He asked me if I liked my room, and I said it needed a comfortable chair. He told me his name is Orlando and he would find a second chair for us.Shortly after that a housekeeper showed up with a second desk chair, which wasn't exactly what we wanted but I was still impressed. The man who helped me is the new owner and will pay attention to the small details. I would go again.Tell him Susan sent you.

We stayed here as a base for a two day trip to Miami. Reception was very efficient and our room was large enough and nicely decorated. The hotel was busy but noise at night was minimal. We ate at the bar both nights and the food was adequate fast food. The location is not the greatest for a tourist but we used Lyft and the hop on hop off bus to see the sights. We liked that after a long flight and then a hassle picking up a hire car the short drive from the airport was a relief. Recommended for a short stop at a reasonable price.

1. I liked:
Free WiFi
Great location
Balcony
Server at the bar lounge was exceptional
Study table with that comfortable chair.
Comfortable bed
In room dining
Miami is beautiful and there is a lot of activities to partake on at your leisure.
2. I didn’t like:
Front desk customer service very poor.
Language barrier with housekeeping when asking for fresh towels and an iron.
2 Awful tiny pillows for King size bed instead of 4 large pillows, no bed runner and no Regency logo cushion as the pictures on their website.
No balcony table.
No water bottle for junior suite.
No housekeeping room service during my stay.
No breakfast on Monday and Tuesday and no one told me! Only found out on Monday while trying to dine.
The balcony light was out.
Balcony door handle broken.
Used face towel from previous guests hanged on shower rail.
The room felt musky with a weird odor, didn’t seem or smelled fresh and clean.
No iron in the room.
No robe.
Bar fridge was not plugged and was dirty inside.
Bed side lamp damaged.
In room dining menu needs an upgrade to accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies and food preferences.
I did of coarse talk to the lady at front desk and she told me that they ran out of robes, she said she had no idea about the water in the junior suite, she put in the work order for the balcony door handle, extra pillows were to be delivered shortly but didn’t arrive till the next day at noon, I called for the iron the next day and was delivered shortly, I asked for my room to be serviced and the housekeeping lady said no! I then asked for fresh towels since she was cleaning the room across mine she said i will need to go to the front desk for that.
I’m not able to attach the video🤦🏾♀️I don’t know why🤷🏾♀️

This hotel at first looked nice enough. The lobby was well maintained and check in was effortlessly. The room was okay until the extremely loud party below our room was shaking the whole hotel. We could feel the vibration in the floor and heard the very loud music and there was no way anyone could sleep. Others in the hotel said that they could also hear and feel the music throughout the whole hotel even on the fifth floor!! This private party continued until after 4:30 am!!! And the hotel refused to shut it down AT ALL!! There was only one elevator in service and you could not use the stairs. The elevator took upwards of 15 minutes to get. It took over 45 minutes for a young lady to get a tea in the morning as there was only one guy working. We were ALL locked out of our rooms at 9am in the morning and the chambermaids refused to let anyone into their rooms to collect their luggage. The front desk had only one person working and would not consider any of the problems people were having trying to get back into their rooms that morning. Needless to say, as avid travelers we will NOT be back to this hotel and usually we are pretty forgiving and oversee small things but this was ultimately ridiculous.

After coming from a Reunion get together for the first night, was very tired, notice their were only 2 pillows to sleep on, needed a extra one for my legs since they swell due to a heart condition. Called room service around 10:00 and the woman at the front desk told me she would have someone send one up to me. I waited and waited but no one showed up. Called again after midnight and a gentleman answered the phone, he asked me: Man, would you like to come down and get it?, I asked him, you want me to come me to come down and get it, sir I am in my jammies, no I want you to send one up, he said okay, we will send one up to you. Never got one. Ended sleeping on one pillow and using one pillow on my legs. The next day, we called room service if their they had any liquid creamers instead, they said no, just what was in the room. The coffee was weak, not enough cream or sugar. I am very angry with this place no service, no help. I will never come back here again!!

If I could give zero stars then I would. I cannot day one positive thing about this horrible experience.
This hotel is a total crap bucket, inside and out. Upon walking in to check in, employee at front desk was arguing with another guest checking in, of which took forever to check in. Room was out of date, nothing like pictured. We did not have a desk or a couch. The bathroom was cramped and old. Barely had hot water for shower.
Provided a half roll of toilet paper when we arrived. Surcharge breakfast is a joke, dining room ran by another ill mannered employee.
Sign in elevator, which was also very slow and choppy, stated ice machine on every level, which is wrong. Only on floors two and four, as informed by a third rude employee. When I asked him at front desk what floors, he stared at me and put up two and four fingers. Didn't bother to say a word.
Luckily we got our room cheaper than regular price, had we paid full price I'd be even more upset.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

Cons:
1st, I got ready to shower and I stepped on something and realized it was feces. GROSS! I asked for the tub to be cleaned immediately and instead was advised to find a housekeeper on my own to which I did and she provided me a bottle of cleaning spray for me to clean it myself. There was also a used piece of soap in the shower when we arrived. 2nd, majority of the outlets did not work. The sockets were loose and honestly, hazardous. 3rd, the blow dryer was broken. However, they did recover bc they provided a new one. 4th, walls are paper thin and you can hear everything on either side of the walls. 5th, we had to ask for towels and cloths multiple times. We finally decided to just use our old wash cloths and when we were dressed and headed out the front desk worker saw us and advised that housekeeping was dropping them off… too late bc we were already heading out by then.
Pros:
Super close to the interstate and gas stations. Right next to the airport. Decent parking and there is no charge, unlike what’s stated online. The hallways smell good and there are sanitizer dispensers on each floor. The water gets really hot which was great. I didn’t try the restaurant on premises but I heard the food was good.
We were out and about most of the time so the room served its purpose for sleep. The hotel was inexpensive and convenient. Would’ve rated higher if not for the feces incident.

At first glace we thought what were we thinking booking this hotel. It looked old and outdated. However once we got inside it was nice. There was a grand piano, a pool table, restaurant and a bar. The pool was outdoors and goes from 3 feet to 6 feet with an walk in accessible entrance to the pool. Check in went very quick, they were able to get us in to a room before check in which was great after we just arrived from a cruise. The rooms and hotel are older but we were in the largest hotel room ever. The nice thing was it was a handicap accessible room so a lot of large space. We stayed here for 2 days, after the first day we got back to the room at 5 pm and noticed that house keeping never came to the room. When they did we said never mind. Also our hot water wasn't working and there was a problem with the safe so I went to front desk to let them know. Front desk person said they will send someone up right away. Well safe to say the hot water still wasn't working and the safe wasn't fixed. All in all, we were very happy with our stay. Just an FYI, the restaurant isn't open on Monday and Tuesday's.

The Lobby was the only decent room in this hotel and the name, we arrived at the hotel a little after 1:30 am had a reservation for 3 persons, we called hours before to let them know that our flight will arrive late of that day, Reception personal apologized to us that they are out of rooms for 3 persons in that night instead she accommodate us with 2 rooms which were just fine. room 429 and Room 430, and she promised that they will correct this the next day, everything is fine. but the elevator the roomes rooms were filthy and heavy odors recked, it was a very degraded place to carry the name Regency, 2nd day we made our move to room 335 I will not stay in a dumb like that, we should have found motel 6 would be a better choice 100%, we noticed that my wife left a nightgown in room 429 in the bathroom, we notified the front desk and we did not think that will be a problem of getting the dress back, but after several tries, during our stay from the 5th through the 8th we noticed that they don't have communications with the staffs to solve small problems, very disappointing, never were able to get the gown back.
one positive thing I have to say front desk workers were very hospitable and nice, they only can take your reservation and tell you where is your room, We had a bad stay at the Regency but a good time in MIAMI.

No, there is not. We are located in LeJeune Rd which is a major avenue in the area. We do offer complimentary parking for a few hours and $15 per night.
Book somewhere else. Lousy customer service.
At this time, we are not offering our customary airport shuttle service. However, we do offer to reimburse your transportation expense (via Uber, Lyft or Taxi) from the airport upon your presentation of the receipt at the Front desk.
When I was there mid-June, there was no shuttle nor did the hotel mention the lack of service. I only found that out after no answer to my phone call to the hotel .I took a taxi. They did call an Uber for my return to the airport.
