The Hyatt Regency Miami enjoys acclaim for its spotless premises and prime location close to Miami's hotspots, despite some gripes regarding nearby noise and construction. While the grandeur of the lobby impresses, guests have called out the hotel's rooms for being stuck in a bygone era, craving modern touches to justify the price. The service receives mixed reviews, with commendations for staff professionalism counterbalanced by concerns over unresponsiveness. Moreover, the hotel's value is frequently questioned, as the cost seems misaligned with the outdated rooms and additional expenses for amenities.

Hyatt Regency Miami is a local landmark hotel offering a solid product, expansive meeting and event space for gatherings, and the most convenient location in the area overlooking the Miami Bay. You'll enjoy easy access to popular Miami attractions, like Brickell City Center, Wynwood Art District, Coral Gables, Port of Miami less than 2 miles away, and the Latin flavor of Little Havana.
Rooms are dated unfortunately and require modernization asap and are not really reflective of the hotel's pricing incl. potential noise disturbances on higher floor levels.
Water pressure is good, as well as cleanliness in room and thru out the hotel.
Encountered staff were professional, friendly and assertive.
Would return at different price point or after renovation.

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Miami and overall had a pleasant experience. However, the major disappointment is that the rooms are in urgent need of upgrades. Despite this, the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, which made up for it.

The check-in process was seamless, and as a globalist, I received a complimentary upgrade to a Panorama Suite, which was a nice touch. The breakfast buffet was impressive, offering a great variety of selections, and was free for globalists.

The location of the hotel is unbeatable, being less than a 10-minute walk to Brickell City Center. However, the proximity to a major bridge and road means it isn't very quiet at night, even on higher floors.

Fast and smooth check in after coming from a redeye. I appreciated that a room was readily available early in the morning. The lobby was grand and pretty with high ceilings. There was a snacks and to go market to was open pretty late. There were also a restaurant and a bar right next to it that we didn’t get a chance to try since I only stayed here for one night before a cruise.

I only booked this place to sleep and chose Hyatt Regency for the better-priced Hyatt within the area. However, for a Hyatt regency I must say that I expected a little more in terms of having more toiletries readily available. Everything had to be requested including robe, slippers, and other simple toiletries. The only things available were body lotion, shampoo/soap/conditioner, ironing board, and hair dryer— very basic.

Stayed in a double bed room, bed was comfy but only came with 2 pillows each. The room was outdated. I would have appreciated a full body mirror in the room. The open closet area was pretty large and can fit 2 open suitcases. There’s a half wall that divides the room from the bathroom. Sink outside and toilet/shower separate. The room was on the 18th floor that looked like it had a balcony but you can’t open the door/window. The window was also pretty dirty that you can’t really see past it.

If I were to come back in the area and need a place to just sleep, I’d probably still come back here for its price and location.

Was in town for a conference at this hotel. It was easy to get to and from the airport. The hotel and rooms were clean with nice views from the higher floors where I was staying. I imagine the view was nicer when the hotel was built, but other development has blocked the view of the bay. The bed was a little hard for my liking and the pillows a little too soft, but I know that is a preference and nothing to ding a hotel for. The showers were clean with decent water pressure, and most importantly, they drained properly so the water didn't back up. The staff was nice enough, not especially friendly but not rude either.

There are plenty of good restaurants in walking distance or even a Whole Foods a block away if you prefer to pick a few things up for the room.

Overall, I would not complain if I found myself back here.

During check-in, the person who attended us told us that "that was the breakfast area", pointing to the restaurant, so the next morning my wife and I went to have breakfast at that restaurant. When we arrived, the waiter Roberto gave us the menus, to which we asked if we had breakfast included and what it was in that case. He took the menus for us and told us that then we had the buffet included, so we went for some food, we noticed that the buffet was super basic and small, no options to choose from and it was not appetizing, but it did the job.

When we finished eating, I asked them to bring us something to sign and it was at that moment when I saw that they charged us $33 + TAX + TIP, adding up to $85 in total, which seemed like an exaggerated and ridiculous price for the quality of the breakfast, but as We had asked if it was included, we signed.

When we went to check out, the person who attended us, Jaime, told us that this charge was additional and that the room did not include breakfast, so we had to pay those $85 from the reservation they made at check in of $100, so that they were only going to return us $15 (approximate numbers). We got very upset and I argued that everyone in the hotel was a team and why if I had asked before consuming, and they had told me that the buffet was included, then they were charging us that ridiculous amount. Jaime responded that "the waiters can't see this information, so I can't help you" and handed me the bill with the $85.

We are really upset since it seems done on purpose, it seems like a scam, they tell us one thing at check-in, during breakfast, but in the end they charge it. That was a deliberate and ill-intentioned act. Doesn't speak well of a quality hotel.

During my stay at the Miami Hyatt Regency, I experienced two serious breaches of privacy. On one occasion, housekeeping entered our hotel room unannounced while my wife was inside. On another occasion, I was in the main floor public bathroom when staff again entered without warning. When I attempted to address these issues, the operations manager scolded me for bringing them up with his staff. The lack of professionalism and accountability at this establishment is alarming. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary changes to protect guest privacy.

Multiple cobwebs over the bed and entire ceiling. Bathtub clogged and dirty. No ventilation whatsoever in the bathroom. Front desk not available to be reached via phone upon calling to report unhabitable conditions of the room upon check-in and did not switch the room. Front desk staff the next morning was rude upon complaining about the condition of the room and would not entertain the request to switch to a cleaner room. Did not expect such service from a Hyatt Regency.

I have stayed at this hotel approximately 90 nights over the past three years. As a Globalist I appreciate the relatively low number of points needed for a free stay. That is where the appreciation ends, and after two consecutive sleepless nights I have decided to pay the extra points or dollars to stay at the Hyatt Centric instead going forward.

To those who say the hotel has a great location, I would like to ask if they are heavy sleepers, because the hotel’s location at a heavily trafficked street (featuring an all night procession of Miami a-holes revving up,their engines to max) to the east, and a construction site to the west featuring crews cutting rebar all night.

But wait - there is more. How about rooms with connecting doors so wafer thin that you can hear the faintest of conversations - or more likely the loudest of parties because - you know - Miami.

How about hallways chilled so intensely that they could literally host a morgue?

How about a fitness room so impossibly tiny as to remove any possibility of a decent work out if there are even two or three more people there?

How about food so bad that I choose to forego my free Globalist breakfast to pay $20 for a croissant and coffee elsewhere?

Sorry folks - that’s it for me.

Our overall experience at this hotel was terrible. We stayed here to attend a conference, and both the accommodation and the event left much to be desired.

First, the staff were consistently condescending and unhelpful. For instance, when we requested water one evening, we were told they had run out. The room itself was dirty and noisy. Despite being on the 19th floor, we could clearly hear traffic outside and got woken up couple times per night. The noise from neighboring rooms was clear as well.

As for the conference, the hotel seemed entirely unprepared. They repeatedly ran out of coffee and water, let alone food, which is shocking for any event, let alone a conference. To make matters worse, they charged us for coffee every morning.

Overall, I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel, especially if you’re planning to host or attend an event. The management clearly lacks the ability to organize or maintain basic standards.
