The rooms are beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. Probably one of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed. For the previous two nights I stayed at 2 different Hiltons and Vagabond was so much better. The pool area is wonderful and relaxing. We used their meeting room and it was just what we needed. And the people who work there are so professional and helpful. I have been telling everyone about this motel and we will definitely be back.

An extraordinary historic motel. Located in the "Mimo District", the hotel is in an art deco style typical of the 50s in the pastel colors of Miami. The rooms are very large and renovated in the 50s style, beautiful. The bedding is very comfortable and the beds are very large. The cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel in general is perfect, the rooms are cleaned every day, the towels changed every day and small samples of shower gel, shampoo, etc. are added each time. Although the hotel is located on a fairly busy avenue, the rooms and the hotel in general are very quiet. A very pretty swimming pool surrounded by a garden with exotic plants and a very pleasant art deco style pool bar decorate this motel. The host is very friendly. A big plus of this motel is the availability of free parking and if you do not have a vehicle, it is well served by public transport (bus). Although the motel does not offer breakfast, it does offer free coffee and tea all day, and many restaurants very close by offer gargantuan breakfasts. You can also easily find a restaurant for dinner in the evening. In short, this motel is exceptional and I will definitely return.

Very pleasant stay at The Vagabond in September. The room is a good size with modern furniture and a king size bed and the air conditioner worked pretty well. We made good use of the dehumidifier and the ceiling fan. The shower had good water pressure and there was a nice size vanity in the bathroom. Actually the room was bigger than some of the other nearby motels we have stayed at. I appreciated the 24 hour lobby which had an electric tea kettle for making tea, and they also provide coffee.
The pool was refreshing and the area around the pool is very nice. We met some other guests while hanging out in the pool.
I highly recommend The Vagabond, and we will surely visit again.

Do you want to get away from the chain hotels? Do you want something quiet and unique? Well, this is the place to stay! The room was very clean and when we put the “make up my room” sign on the door when we walked to breakfast, it was cleaned in less than 45 minutes. The pool bar was awesome and relaxing, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the price was reasonable. A+++

I stayed at a hotel on South Beach for 2 days before moving to the Vagabond, I had it planned this way. I'm glad I did, I loved the Vagabond, Juan, LINDA, and Ariel were all very helpful. I meant Linda on the first night there when I checked in she was very welcoming and helpful with info on places to eat at and the area in general , she really made me feel completely welcomed and relaxed. I had actually talked to Juan on the phone when I made the reservation. I am 62 years old and have been sober 21 years so when I read the Vagabond had a bar by the pool I was concerned it may be a big party place. So I called and talked with Juan who told me the bar is a nice relaxing place that is not an all night party place. Juan also assured me he would try to get me in a room that was in a very quiet area of the hotel. I love to swim and the Vagabond has a very beautiful pool area. And I agree with Juan the crowd on Saturday afternoon at the bar was a very jovial and respectful group of people. While I did not speak to the bartenders they seemed as nice as the rest of the staff at the Vagabond. Ariel helped me when I decided to stay another night. I think the Vagabond is a hidden gem and I will always stay there when I travel to Miami. This was my first trip to Miami, I had a friend move to Miami last year and I was visiting him and I expect I will be visiting more. He actually started a business in Miami and I expect a lot of our mutual friends will be visiting there also, I would recommend the Vagabond to all my friends, I really liked this place a lot. My only negative would be no fridge or microwave in the room, but I worked around that. And not directly about the Vagabond but more about the Mandolin restaurant there. I went in there on a Sunday evening it was very slow and an employee said hello to me, but then I stood there for at least 5 mins with no-one acknowledging me so I left and went next door to NiDo. Nearby food I would recommend Doggis Arepa Bar best I ever had, NiDo Italian great food - a little high price point, Can't beat Jimmy's eastside diner on the corner good food at a good price and great staff, and I found a place a little ways down the street that was fast food Pollo Tropical great Cuban sandwich.

We look forward to welcoming you back, hopefully in the very near future. I am glad you had the opportunity to interact with the Front Desk agents, we are very lucky to have a customer focused and dedicated team. Apologies for the less than ideal experience at the restaurant. It is a casual restaurant from the perspective that patrons need to go to the counter to order their meals that are in turn delivered to their tables once ready. We do indeed have many cuisine options in our neighborhood, from Italian, to Southern comfort, Mexican (Tacos), Venezuelan, old fashion diner and etc.

I stayed at the Vagabond for the first time this week, while visiting relatives and attending a private event at Barry University. The hotel was conveniently located to places in Miami Shores, and had plenty of free parking. We enjoyed the beautiful pool deck and the remodeled, clean rooms. I would change just a couple features of the hotel if I could. The practice of dropping off the key at the main desk and picking it up whenever we came back to the hotel was quite quaint; I had only experienced this in two old European hotels in the past. Also the large frosted windows in the room doors let in too much light. We couldn't darken our room more than a twilight glow due to the lights in the hallway. The smell of the disinfectant spray, although reassuring, was difficult to remove from the room. Nevertheless, I would stay again. We enjoyed an outdoor meal at the Mandolin, the restaurant connected to the hotel, and I would also recommend the bakery one block south on Biscayne Avenue, Flavorish. They serve a good, reasonable, breakfast with freshly squeezed OJ, and they are convenient since the hotel does not serve breakfast during the pandemic.

We are delighted that you selected the Vagabond for your recent visit to Miami. We are certainly very centrally located and as such makes it easier for our guests to explore all that Miami has to offer. We will be sure to remove the diffuser in the rooms for your next stay, which will hopefully be sooner rather than later! In terms of the lighting situation, we have black-out shades for the windows and the main doors have a film that blocks most of the hallway light. I am glad you had the opportunity to explore the restaurants in our neighborhood, we have so many good ones and a variety of cuisines. Stay safe and healthy!

We stayed at The Vagabond for one night, after disembarking from a cruise ship in the port of Miami. It’s a refurbed 50s motel, located in the ‘up and coming’ MiMo (Miami Modern) neighbourhood. It cost us about $25 to get an Uber from the port to the hotel (and a similar price to get from the hotel to the airport). We really enjoyed our stay at the Vagabond. It’s a beautiful hotel, and it’s been refurbed really well. It looks fabulous, while still retaining the original features. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a huge bed and a great shower. There are restaurants, bars, and cafe’s within easy walking distance from the hotel, and to us, the area felt quite safe.

My sister and I arrived in Miami planning to stay at The Vagabond for a few days. Unexpected events kept us in Miami for 3 weeks, and May (owner of The Vagabond) was fantastic at making her hotel our home away from home. The front-office staff was consistently helpful in solving any supplies issues we had, and the housekeeping staff kept our room neat and clean. The ambience of The Vagabond is true Florida - sparkling pool, poolside bar, mature, well-maintained tropical landscaping and excellent Mediterranean food at the affiliated restaurant (Mr. Mandolin). Located on Biscayne Boulevard in North Miami, the hotel's location is great for access to beaches, bayside parks and restaurants. (In addition to Mr. Mandolin, try Boulevard Bae's, Blue Collar and Via Verdi.) I would definitely check back in to The Vagabond any time I'm in Miami. Enjoy!

We loved it! I’m not normally a motel person and was nervous- but this adorable retro property exceeded my expectations. It was clean, quiet, free parking and affordable, and provided great service by Juan Arias, who helped us with recommendations on what to do in the area. This is a great location with super cool interior design, right near Miami and the Design District… book it and you won’t regret it!

A must place to stay. The hotel is one of the cleanest places we have stayed in. The room was large and bright . The king bed was beyond comfortable with crisp, new, soft white sheets. Soft sheets are a must for me. The large rainforest shower was so relaxing after a hot day outside. The towels were soft, new, and actually wrapped around my body. The pool area is surrounded by lush tropical plants of every imaginable variety. There are lots of shady areas as well as sunny ares to sit, with comfy chairs and umbrellas. Across the street is a fantastic bakery. Two blocks away is a take me back to the 60's diner with fantastic food. Last but not least the Manger of the Vagabond was professional, helpful and friendly.
You must stay at the Vagabond while in Miami.
