The staff was not helpful at all. Made several calls down to the front desk that went unanswered. Made several requests at the front desk that were not fulfilled. It’s really not nice outside of the hotel and I felt uncomfortable walking around. The hotel is modern but so confusing. We couldn’t figure out how to get the lights to work!
I had a problem with my reservation, but the way the person in charge of me handled it was the worst. He said it was not his responsibility, and he told me contacted the site where I booked and told them to solve it themselves. Even though the reservation site showed that 2 rooms were reserved, they continued to tell me that it was not their responsibility and to solve it. I had no choice but to arrive at the hotel and after 3 hours contacted the site where I had made the reservation directly to resolve it, and the staff mocked me and said. Shouldn't an staff with common sense say "I'm glad it worked out"? Also, during check-in, a pretty and good-looking woman passed by, so he turned his eyes to her and talked to her. The staff didn't seem interested in my feelings at all.
No coffee was offered in the room or Lobby. Food was expensive, no alternative restaurants nearby, there was no transportation from the airport to this hotel. I tried for more than an hour to connect with a human being to resolve this. Ended taking a very expensive Taxi ride. In general, a bad experience.
Unfortunately, this concept hotel is missing the mark. It looks hip and trendy (think Virgin Hotels), but that’s where similarity ends…one person works front desk, so they encourage you to check in via lobby kiosk (not very welcoming). Our wheelchair accessible room was a failure in ADA design… cheap, backless stool in place of wall-mounted seat in roll-in shower, no under sink access due to bars in the way (an unnecessary design element), then the bed! Should be about average wheelchair height 22” or so…it was very low to ground, maybe 17-18”…REALLY hard to get out of (I wouldn’t have been able to stay here if traveling solo)..service in bar/lounge was horrible, had to prompt staff for any assistance, and last, try figuring out how to run the lights in your room without several minutes of analysis…weird…will be cancelling my next scheduled stay next month….do better Yotel !…
Yotel is the spirit airlines of hotels. Once and done! New, high tech with reasonable prices but at the end of the day not worth it. At 3pm my room still wasn't ready. I think i heard them use the same phrase “the room is not ready” to several people. Close to 4 i had to get snarky and got a room right away. Just frustration all around and the bathroom situation is weird. There’s no privacy. The shower door did not close so the floor was wet. The neighborhood is sketchy so no i wont recommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed for one night. The location is great bc bayside is around the corner. But ur better off somewhere else.
This hotel was truly a great experience. The next generation of hotels stay. This hotel is smack in the middle of downtown Miami. Walking distance to shopping areas. And less than a mile from the Port of Miami. I'll give this hotel 5 plus Stars. For one for location, two for location, three for location. Four for atmosphere. And the fifth star is for staff is excellent food is great room is excellent.
Hotel was very clean throughout, very modern and all the systems worked very smoothly. There were some previous reviews about the shower leaking in to the bedrooms under the shower door, but I think the hotel had fixed this as there was a tray and lip in our shower so wouldn't have been possible for water to leak out. Food selection was small but tasty and the bar area was great to sit at in the evenings. Hotel was in a great location to get to the downtown area, definitely going through / needs regeneration but we felt totally safe even walking back form places later at night as it was always busy. Would definitely stay there again for a long weekend trip. Might not be as suitable for a week or more as the (queen) room was a little small for a long stay with no seating area which my husband likes. Best feature in the rooms - the bed that goes from flat to an upright sitting position - really great idea!…
Lots of extra fees upon checkin and check out. This hotel was dirty and basic at best. We were charged an extra $220 in fees making this stay near $500. Rooms had a bed and tv. Paint was splattered on the floor. Bathroom was dirty. Location was nice for cruise departures. Def choose something else next time.
We were a little nervous about staying here because there was not a lot of information available online and it sounded like such a different hotel experience than we would normally expect. We chose it for its location - only a block from Bayside - and the price. We stayed here following a cruise and arrived at the hotel around 8:45 expecting to leave our luggage with them for the day. We were so unexpectedly shocked and pleasantly surprised when the front desk staff told us we could check in right then! It absolutely made our day, allowing us to get out and explore the area in comfort. The hotel is in a great location for exploring downtown Miami, taking in a Miami Heat game and is next to a Miami MetroMover station, a free train that moves you throughout the area. The rooms are basically furnished but provide everything you need including safe, blow dryer, iron, mini-fridge and multiple outlets and usb outlets for any charging you need to do. When we went up to the pool later in the afternoon, there was live music, followed by a DJ. There is a bar in the pool area. Towels are available for use at the pool/hot tub. The pool temperature was quite lovely and lots of loungers and daybeds were available. The daybed mattresses were quite stained and not appealing to use so I would suggest these be cleaned or replaced to provide a more pleasing environment. We did not access the gym but it looked to be a good set up. There is a restaurant and grab n go food kiosks but we did not use these services. Check out was very easy using the self-serve kiosk. We would definitely stay here again.…
Try to arrive during Non Busy Business Hours so before or after check in time period. The lobby is super small so if you arrive during the busiest time you'll find yourself frustrated and have no place to sit/ stand.
