YOTEL Miami garners mixed reviews for its value, with some guests feeling shortchanged by hidden fees despite the modern and stylish atmosphere that many appreciate. The service quality is inconsistent, with reports of both commendable and disappointing interactions with staff.
While the prime location is widely praised for its convenience, opinions on the amenities are divided, with some guests enjoying the tech-savvy features yet others criticizing pool upkeep and additional charges. The cleanliness of the hotel stands out positively, although room noise and size receive varied feedback.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for two nights before leaving for a cruise. When I booked and prepaid for the room I also paid taxes and fees and were not aware that an extra Miami city tax was not included in those prepaid taxes. We ended up paying $64 extra in fees that were not mentioned in the booking. (I reviewed the fine print - definitely no mention!)
That being said, the hotel itself was a neat place to stay. The rooms were small, but the space was used very efficiently. Instead of the bathroom in a separate room, the shower and toilet were in glass-enclosed closets within the room. Instead of a closet, a rack next to the shower could be used to hang clothes and store a suitcase or two. A small shelf spans the wall under the TV and can be used to hold phones and other devices while they charge.
Some of the lights were RGB and customizable from a single control panel. The TV was also compatible with Chromecast casting which was something I had not seen before. The bed had a power tilt function and the nightstand/side table had a wireless charging dock as well. The technology in the room was very neat but less tech-savvy types may find it intimidating.
The staff were all very friendly, even the ones who did not speak English were very happy to help when we needed a few extra towels. The pool does close early, but we were not there for the pool.
The location was convenient, the First Street Metromover station is right across the street and it is a short walk to Bayfront park and many stores and restaurants. Apart from the hidden fees, we really enjoyed our experience here.

A different Hotel which you have to understand to use its facilities, there is someone to help you and the staff very friendly and willing to serve. Everything in the hotel is automated; simple rooms, comfortable bed; something I did not like is that the bathroom and the closet are integrated into the room and the bathroom light (very bright) is turned on by an automatic sensor. The hotel is very nice and very comfortable. The customer service was excellent. There is only valet parking and on the street you can park but only three hours during 24 hours. The air conditioning is excellent, no noise is felt (very silent, I love it), the elevators are nice and fast. I would definitely return to this hotel.

Stayed there a couple weekends ago and I had a great stay. The 1st thing I would say is that for the price the hotel was very new and clean with brand new modern amenities, usually you get much worse for that low of a price. I was very pleased and surprised with how clean and how new everything was. Second I would say the staff was absolutely amazing they treat you as if you were in a 5 star resort, in particular the overnight staff Lupe and Jorge they were very friendly and welcoming. They knew Miami very well and they recommended a lot of amazing places and I enjoyed every single one of them and most of them were right there next to the hotel. The area around the hotel has a lot of fun things to do cant wait to try them all its going to take me a few more vacations but I look forward to it really enjoyed my stay at this hotel definitely staying here on my next trip 100%.

As soon as you enter Yotel you get a horrible check in experience, and the rest is even worse. They force you to the self check in, no matter if you arrive at 1am and you are dead tired. You cannot have a proper shower without getting 1” of water around the bathroom area.
The rooms are like freezers, the customer service is very poor and the menu in the restaurant has low variety. Stay away unless you are looking to have an uncomfortable stay!

When I came across this hotel it seemed like a good option.
The Pros
It is very tech advanced and I liked that. It is in a prime location, right in the heart of downtown Miami so I was able to access many prime spots. Most of the staff were pleasant. The guys really helped me because I had a lot of stuff to get in and out of my room as I was shopping to ship off some things to the Caribbean. The room is small but it was very clean and room service cleaned and changed sheets and towels daily.
The Cons
I opted for a room with 2 beds because it was a friend and I and it advertised "premium double" as the bed type only for me to arrive and see that was 2 single beds, I guess that is what made it a premium double (LOL). I literally could not rollover. This is the first hotel I went to and was not even greeted with a teabag, sugar and cream to say the least. Not even a bottle of water even if they charged for it. No microwave in the room so a lot food that I was unable to finish at the said time had to be thrown out. I had called ahead to find out if I could send packages to the hotel in my name and what would be the cost. i was told yes and that there was no charge. It so happened that on the last day I went downstairs to get something at a store and when I tried to go back to the room I had no access. I went to find out why only to hear that it was because I owed $35. I said but it's not yet checkout time so why am I blocked? Would I not have to clear any charges upon checkout? Now my card was in my room and not on my phone but the guy was trying to tell me I could use my phone to pay before I could go back upstairs. I found that to be very rude!!! He eventually gave me a new card and let me back up. It was not until I got home and was reading the charges on the invoice that I realized that the $35 was due to them charging me for every single box I received at the hotel (7). Not even a charge per delivery (there were 3 deliveries).
Overall, I wouldn't recommend there to anyone. When ppl pay their hard earned money the expect to be comfortable and receive good service. I'd take my business elsewhere.

Dear shemekai2024, We're glad to hear that you appreciated our hotel's tech-forward amenities and prime downtown location, and that our staff were helpful during your stay. However, we apologize for any confusion regarding the room type and the unexpected charges for package deliveries. We understand the importance of feeling comfortable and receiving excellent service when you choose to stay with us, and we're sorry to hear that we fell short of your expectations in these areas. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we will use it to improve our services moving forward. Hotel was very clean throughout, very modern and all the systems worked very smoothly. There were some previous reviews about the shower leaking in to the bedrooms under the shower door, but I think the hotel had fixed this as there was a tray and lip in our shower so wouldn't have been possible for water to leak out. Food selection was small but tasty and the bar area was great to sit at in the evenings. Hotel was in a great location to get to the downtown area, definitely going through / needs regeneration but we felt totally safe even walking back form places later at night as it was always busy. Would definitely stay there again for a long weekend trip. Might not be as suitable for a week or more as the (queen) room was a little small for a long stay with no seating area which my husband likes. Best feature in the rooms - the bed that goes from flat to an upright sitting position - really great idea!

I stayed at Yotel mainly due to its location as it was near the wodapalooza event at bayfront park. It was only a short walk so a excellent location for those who are the festival.
The downside for me were the reception staff who to be brutally honest were just rude. After 13 hours of travelling the woman on the checkout just told me to check myself in and offered me no welcome or guidance about anything to do with the hotel or its amenities. I was tired so I just went to bed.
I also went to the bar for some soft drinks and I was left waiting for ages whilst the waitress was just chatting to her friend or colleague. I had to intervene in the end as whilst she saw me she made no attempt to serve me without being promoted.
I asked for a late checkout on my last day and was told I could extend till midday. I headed to the beach and when I got back my hotel key wouldn't work for the lifts. The receptionist just looked at her watch and said that I was late for checkout. I explained I had extended my checkout time and she told me that I should've come down to the reception to renew my hotel key.... Nobody advised me that I needed to do this. Throughout my stay I felt like a problem rather than as a guest. I've stayed in Yotel in London and had a great experience so I had high expectations for this. Sadly I won't be returning, I felt so unwelcome and that felt worse being a solo traveller.
One thing I will say is the cleaning lady was absolutely lovely and did a fantastic job. Shame the front of house tarnished the whole experience. 👎

For $330 a night, we got the following:
A shower that leaked severely across the bedroom floor;
No coffee, no breakfast, no microwave;
A very unusual light switch that did not function as described;
A completely unresponsive front desk and no operator to deal with anything for a period of a few hours from 6 pm to 9 pm;
A non-private toilet;
A public transit line a few feet from our window.
The shower problem is described in many reviews, and creates an “UNINHABITABLE” situation, to which the manager responds with empty words.
It is a total mystery to me why the ratings for this hotel on some sites are so high.

Hotel is in a very good location, within walking distance to the Bay area - filled with lively bars and restaurants. The hotel lobby and room are clean and quirky in design. Also felt safe with evaluator use only for those with a room key. However there are negatives, the main being the reception staff. They were not welcoming or helpful. examples: no smile & greeting on arrival and no explanation about the hotel layout or the buttonless elevators. We travelled from the UK so wanted to use a adaptor plug but reception refused to let us borrow one and would only sell one for $25 not what you expect for a quite expensive stay. Also charged $75 a day security deposit which was a suprise on arrival and could be expensive if staying long duration. Upon check out, tried charging us for breakfast which we didn't eat but subsequently removed it after we mentioned it. Room is very small and be warned the toilet door we had did not lock or even fully shut, the door is almost on a swinging hinge that left a gap, so not ideal if staying with someone else. Bed was comfortable though. Overall for the price, we expected more.

You can take the Metrorail system to the hotel. The the Metrorail and then transfer to the Metro mover. Get off on the First Street stop and the Yotel will be right across the street. The cost is $2.25. They provide a shuttle to the cruise port for $8.00.
Yes, I would or at least let them know you are arriving late.
Yes, across the street there is a city parking structure.
You should be able to. Most hotels provide this service.
We will be leaving a cruise ship so arriving early to the hotel. Can we leave our bags and go out sightseeing until check in time? We understand the room will not be ready - just want to leave our luggage and come back later. Thanks!
