Enjoyed our 4 day stay at this remodeled Marriott property located in an upscale residential Miami neighbourhood.

Very friendly front office staff was so courteous to refund the daily amenities fee of 22 USD upon departure , as our room was never serviced during our entire stay.

On the other hand, beautiful room with amazing ocean and marina views .
Balcony overlooking the most enjoyable large pool.
Quality bedding, good size shower, extremely small sink and luckily no next door construction noise on weekends.

Excellent groceries store and lively waterfront dining across from the hotel.

Recommended.

We stayed here in an upgraded suite back in October and really liked this hotel. This is one of the nicer Courtyard hotels that seems fairly new and is in a perfect location close to everything coconut grove has to offer. Our suite had a beautiful view overlooking the bay! There is a Fresh Market across the street but the hotel does have a decent restaurant and bar that serves snacks, light meals and coffee in the morning. The hotel is clean, modern and the suite was quite large and very comfortable. For an affordable hotel to stay in Coconut Grove area, this is the best one!

My wife and I ventured into the Grove for a short weekend trip prior to the Holiday. In the past, we stayed at the Ritz but with Marriott points not what they used to be in terms of redemption, we settled for the Courtyard around the corner.

They weren't able to guarantee an upgrade in advance even with my status and we wanted a room upgrade with balcony. However, when requested at check-in, the desk associate was able to put us in a nice Jr. Suite. It was a corner room and it had a nice long balcony. The entire room faced right over the water and had a fantastic view and was removed enough from the traffic, lower level noise.

The room wasn't bad. The upside was a nice bed, great view and wonderful little balcony. It had a large desk right on the window as well. The downsides were that the Jr. Suite came with little to-no actual furniture. Most king rooms come with a couch, this one didn't. It was an accessible room so it had some unique features and I don't know if other Jr. Suites also had no furniture. Lastly, the TV was awfully small and located well away from the bed.

The hotel has a $22/day fee for resort like things such as bottled water, two drinks at the bar, the pool, fitness, etc. It has a pool table and a few bikes with two-hour rentals.

Location was really the best part as it's so walkable to all parts of the Grove. Easy access to a Fresh Market and CVS across the street. We did enjoy it, would stay here again but it wouldn't be our first option necessarily.

Absolutely poor design!
We had two very spacious rooms with the tiniest bathroom one can imagine! The shower was so small that no person of weight would fit. Moreover, the shower head was mounted so close to the wall that it stuck out exactly as much as the handle that turned it on. That meant that when you took a shower and wanted to get close to the water, the handle was in your back.
The sink was the size of an airplane sink. The toilet was put so close to the cabinet housing the infamous sink that the toilet roll was hanging over the toilet and hit you every time you sat down. The toiletries provided were minimal and tiny.
We asked the desk person to have the extra bed (a couch) made for the third person who stayed with us. We were told that the sheets were in the coset and we should make the bed ourselves!
I have never been asked before to open a sleeper sofa and make the bed myself!!!
Fortunately, a man who was cleaning the next room, made the bed for us at our request. However, that was the only thing he did because apparently, they only clean rooms every other day.
The mattress on the bed was too soft and the pillows had clumps of stuffing distinctly felt by the sleeper.
Everything was cheaply finished. The coffeemaker was the cheapest, although it did make coffee...
Also, the location is not the most convenient as it is about a 15-min walk to the center of the town.
We were fortunate to be on a top floor and had a good sea view. However, all other people in our bridal party book single rooms (vs. our two-room suite) and faced either the parking lot or the construction site.
In short: one of the worst hotels I ever stayed at!

We've stayed twice at this hotel, once in 2022 and again this yer. It's a nice hotel with a great location. There's a little grocery store across the street, Fresh Market and a Starbuck's about a block away. The restaurants and shops of Coconut Grove are a quick Uber away, you pay to park everywhere there and it can get pricy so Ubers are just easy. It's about 10 minutes to the Causeway to go to Key Biscayne and about 15 minutes to downtown Brickell so it's a great location and easy to get to from the airport. The staff are very nice, Martin at the bar is especially friendly and helpful. The rooms vary in size but are clean and comfortable. The thing that I noticed last yer and again this year is the size of the sink in the bathroom. Incredibly small. Who would ever think a sink of that size is o.k. At any rate, I know what to expect and would stay here again.

We were at the Marriott Coconut Grove for a Wedding this week. We arrived on Tuesday just as Milton was making its way towards Florida. People started to arrive at the hotel seeking refuge from being in harms way of Milton. I am sure that the hotel became full. People were in chaos mode as they arrived at the hotel from all over the western coast of Florida seeking safety.

The staff at the hotel were fantastic. Even in a supper hectic and chaotic environment, they remained cool and were focused on meeting everyone’s needs.

Michael in the front desk went above and beyond, helping everyone with a smile always in his face.

The two young ladies that worked the cafe were absolutely incredible!! Working tirelessly to meet the food needs of all the guests at the hotel. Back again the next morning at 6:30 AM to make sure that guests had coffee and something to eat for breakfast and lunch.

The valet staff were absolutely incredible. Jockeying cars in and out, getting cars for guests from the garage in record time. Absolutely incredible. Joanne was super managing the valet and all the team members. BTW, the driveway in front of the hotel does not leave any room for a mistake. Joana and her staff moved cars in and out like it was magic. Even at rush times, they worked diligently to get customers their cars always with a smile on their face and a happy greeting.

Thank you to the entire staff at the Coconut Grove for you g way above and beyond to make an impossible situation bearable and making guests feel comfortable and welcomed!!!

Ridiculously rude front desk. Especially a desk person named Shay she looks at each guest with disgust, delays in helping, has an excuse for poor service and answers and asks questions rudely. She does not represent the Marriott brand well. The house cleaning staff can’t speak English to communicate, they don’t clean or tidy the rooms properly, trash left, hair in the shower. Horrible. Back rooms look over a disgusting abandoned tennis court.

While I should be asleep in my room at the moment, I am complaining (twice now in the last 25 minutes) regarding the noise in the hallway and rooms next to mine where young adults guys (must be college students) are in and out of their rooms and shouting/talking loudly to each other. I called the front desk who said they were sending someone up. Did they? Idk cause now it’s 1/2 later 10:30 and there is still commotion in the hallways. Clearly either no one was sent up or these unsupervised young adults are ignoring management. I explained I am here on business and must get up very early. Goes to show how awful it is to be staying at a nice hotel in a nice area allowing partying 20 yo kids to book rooms and act like it’s a free for all. We paying business responsible guests deserve what we pay for. Definitely will not suggest this hotel to my global company

The good: People were friendly, hotel has great location, and we thought very comfortable beds:

The bad: Some of the rooms are VERY SMALL. Our elevator mates called their room “their cubicle”. They complained and moved to a suite. Our bathroom sink was the diameter of my tooth brush. Only airplanes have smaller. My wife had to dry her hair in the room because the bathroom was too small.

The really BAD: They charge you $30 per day as a “Destination Fee”. This is for really nothing….. THey claim they Credit you $30 towards incidental purchases. BUT they only count the restaurant as a purchase. You cannot buy a coke or snack at the front desk, that does not count. . I did not come to Coconut Grove to eat dinner at the Marriot Bistro.. THis was insulting and a money grab. I took it up with a manager, and she was relentless on the policy. So, we just decided to just eat breakfast daily, since they already charges us $30. When I got my bill, they failed to credit any of these charges. After two phone calls back to them, they still will not correct the bill. One of teh guys told me “ it is really hard to go through the receipts to verify”. : So. They charged me more than they should and are too lazy to fix it. I am not a complainer. Read my reviews 95% of them are 5’s….. Will not stay here again, based on how I was treated.

We came to this hotel with a big family of 17. We booked six rooms months in advance yet when we showed up to the hotel we were told 4 of our rooms were already occupied and we were told we could relocate to a hotel 4 miles away. This wasn’t the biggest issue however, the manager (Megan) was so incredibly rude and showed no sympathy at all. She was passive aggressive and condescending the entire process and gave little to zero compensation for the inconvenience. Our family is never all together and for the first time in years we wanted to spend a night together. Megan showed zero sign of sympathy and repeatedly made snarky comments, gave rude looks and did nothing to try and make up for the inconvenience. After hours of negotiations we were able to get 3 of our rooms back. This was an incredibly frustrating and stressful experience and the management did nothing but make us feel like we were at fault for this mess. Even the next morning management continued to engage in an unprofessional way. Truly an awful experience and will not be returning to this hotel in the future.

Dear williameT7270FU, We sincerely regret your experience; we never intend to relocate any guests. Our inventory levels change by the minute due to guests extending their stays, rooms being taken out of order for maintenance, etc. and sometimes we just can't fulfill all room reservations onsite. I'm sorry we disappointed you and I'm sure that was frustrating after a long day of travel. I appreciate you taking the time to share your review and we hope you might reconsider a return in the future. Sincerely, Hotel Management
