Detailed Reviews
I was very well received by Robert Leyton and he took care and helped me about the neighborhood and the amenities in Coconut Grove. He was friendly, kind and respectful. Also the room service was very well done by a canarian lady and the luggage boy was perfect even without the tip I finally couldn't gave him.
Christmas this year was not a good moment to go a cause of the rain and I have to advise to the direction about the necessity that each room count on an umbrella because I returned mine and the next rainy day was impossible to have another one.
The restaurant is ok but I would prefer could have breakfast included on the price of the room. Narbona is a perfect coin to go but would be interesting to make an arrangement with them to serve a kind of small breakfast for the guests of The Mayfair. This is my friendly suggestion.
Eventhough my experience in Mayfair Hotel was good and I hope I can come back some day in the next future.
I desire a Happy New Year to the big equip there and hope to say Hello to all of them again!

What a wonderful stay! I was slightly apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, so I wanted to make sure I left a thorough review after a great experience. The Mayfair is conveniently located in the heart of Coconut Grove, with plenty of options for great food and just a few minutes away from the lovely Regatta Park.
Mainor, Robert, and David were really attentive, helpful, and professional. They checked us in and out efficiently, and were always prompt to address any requests. They gave us some great tips and could not have been kinder. Our stay would not have been the same without them!
The hotel is beautiful. The room was rather large and, whilst slightly darker than we may be used to, it was in keeping with the decor and it did not bother us (although it would have been helpful to have the option to have brighter lights/a big light). I am quite fussy when it comes to cleanliness, and I must say the room was spotless. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and it was great to have a bath in the room as well. The water pressure of the shower was fine (mentioning this as I was concerned about some of the reviews).
While there is not a wardrobe, the clothes rail was very big and there were plenty of drawers. We asked for more hangers and these were provided within minutes. There is also a steamer, which was very convenient to get any creases out before going for dinner!
Our room was cleaned daily and we were provided with more coffee, tea, and water every time (and could request more from reception). Only one day did they forget to leave new hand towels which, again, were sent up within minutes of requesting them.
The pool was also fantastic. It was really pleasant, the sun shines on it all day, and the drinks and food choices are pretty good.
The lifts system was a little different in that you swipe your card, select the floor you are going to, and are then assigned a lift. We never waited any longer than a minute or so, and actually found it to be really efficient (rather than the lift stopping at various floors, so you don’t have to be waiting while going up and down).
A couple of suggestions (which did not impact our stay at all):
- The fitted sheet was just a sheet, not elasticated, which meant that it moved throughout the night. Similar point regarding the duvet cover.
- The kettle was a little far from the socket, so we had to put it on the floor in order to use it.
- There was a lovely postcard in the room which they charge for. One would expect that to be free.
We also had lunch at The Mayfair Grill, which we were very pleasantly surprised with. The food was really nice, and Alanis and Jayden were attentive, polite, and simply lovely.
We also tried Mister 01 pizza nearby, which was great (and Mauro, our waiter, was brilliant!) Havana Harry’s in Coral Gables serves fantastic Cuban food, and the service was wonderful (Miguel in particular!) If you just fancy something simple, The Fresh Market down the road by Regatta Park was really convenient.

The Mayfair was the perfect staycation for our family of 3. My husband and I like to spend our Amex hotel credit on a little staycation each year and last year we did a Babymoon at The Standard but this year we have our 10 month old daughter and children are not allowed at The Standard. We’d heard great things about The Mayfair and decided to book here this year. It quickly became our new favorite local hotel.
Everything about it is luxurious and beautiful but in a cozy, unique way. The warm, natural, and jewel tones are beautiful with architectural nods to GaudĂ. Our king suite with outdoor shower was spacious and cozy, well equipped(sans a mini-refrigerator which would have made it perfect). We had hoped to be upgraded to a room with a tub. Alas, they were sold out upon our arrival.
The concierge was helpful and sincere, informing us of our complimentary upgrade, complimentary daily breakfast, $100 resort credit, and complimentary welcome drinks(perks of booking with Amex travel). He even walked us to the elevator while explaining the layout of the hotel and how to use the elevators(room key required). He also asked if we required a pack n play for our daughter.
The AC in the room works very well, the robes are cozy, the TV is large(!), the water gets very hot, and the bathroom amenities include shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, a few cotton swabs, a blow dryer, and a steamer. The mini bar is well stocked with local snacks and complimentary tea, coffee, and water.
The hotel is very walkable so we did not bring our car as parking options in Coconut Grove are expensive. We dined at the Mayfair Grill for breakfast in the inner courtyard which is gorgeous with a water feature and open skylight. Plenty of other dining options within a couple minutes walk as well.
Really enjoyed our stay. Absolutely would recommend and will be returning.

1. Get a small front desk, the current lobby situation is not working, most comments about the check in-lobby are negative
2. Have a valet attendant outside front door near check in
3. More pool chairs for guests, don’t allow outside day pass for non guests for pool area
4. Breakfast menu for room service, not just lunch and dinner
5. concierge desk, even if it’s open part time, it could help guests tremendously
6. normal elevator buttons
7. More wash cloths and towels in room
8. slippers with robes in room
9. Eliminate $25 destination fee which is unclear in some booking channels, and just seems like a shady hidden fee
10. Monitor noise/music comming for atrium lobby area
11. Housekeeping service is inconsistent at times, sometimes lackluster, ensure rooms are always properly cleaned
And while it’s a beautiful hotel on the surface, fixing these small things will make a huge difference to a four star luxury hotel experience.

Please know what you're booking before you book. This hotel (particularly the room) was definitely not for me and it's likely not for everyone. Frankly, I wonder how much of it's praise in the travel mags is the work of a great PR campaign and less because people genuinely like this hotel. There is no way this is the #4 hotel in Miami. It's just not. The hotel itself has a unique atrium layout with tropical landscaping. Cool, but no WOW factor at all. service from the staff is cordial, at best. No one is going out of their way to be courteous or hospitable. Not rude per say, but certainly not hospitable.
The room was my biggest gripe (and actually caused me to leave a day early because it was so depressing). I will preface this by saying, everything I didn't like about it appeared to be intentional. It was painted dark taupe (even the ceiling), with minimal lighting, cement floors, and VERY rustic furniture. The darkness is exacerbated by tree canpoy and ivy that covers the exterior of the building (nothing anyone can do about it), which effectively blocks ANY natural light from coming in any of the rooms. If you are looking for Florida sunshine, it does NOT find its way into the rooms here. It did appear to be clean, although I literally spent maybe an hour or two total in my two night stay.
It does have a small rooftop pool, but there's absolutely no view unless you stand on your tip toes and look over a 6ft cement wall. That appeared to be the only amenity and it was nothing to write home about at all.
The location was great, right in the heart of Coconut grove and walking distance to literally hundreds shops, bars, restaurants, and sights in the grove.
Overall I would never go back or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Staying at Mayfair was honestly a bizarre experience.
First of all, the building is old, but beautiful. The plants in the atrium are incredible, and the pool is great. Very nice architectural gem right in the heard of Coconut Grove.
This hotel has terrible management… here is what happened:
Day 1, in our room the sink, toilet, and shower were all leaking. Small drips of water so we used one of our towels to keep it from pooling.
Day 2, the housekeeping came, and took the only clean towels that we had, and didn’t replace them. They also took our water bottles and some other strange things. I checked at the pool, but there were also no towels there.
Around noon, I went down to the front desk and asked for some towels so that we could shower before dinner.
At 6:30pm that night - they still hadn’t brought us any towels.
I went back down to the front desk and the manager with the man bun told me they had a problem with the housekeeping and were working on getting more towels. He said he would refund our meals that we had ordered from the pool and restaurant so far.
There were no towels in the entire hotel, but he promised to refund those meals which seemed fair.
They did bring towels a few hours later. The manager never refunded the meals.
Day 3, while relaxing at the pool, they decided to have some obnoxious peloton workout class outside at the pool. Coach was yelling and everyone at the pool was annoyed. I also watched “Man Bun Manager” attempt to fix an issue where some guests had reserved a cabana but the hotel never put any sign to reserve it. Lol awkward.
Around 1pm, everyone that had a cabana had to stand up and wait around while they put towels down on the cabana cushions. Weird and awkward.
Upon leaving, I told the front desk employee about everything and he said he would get the meal refunds sorted out. I never heard from him again about that refund.
A day after checkout I received a text message from “Robert T” asking when he could give me a call. I told him a day and time, Robert confirmed, then never called…
Very strange for a hotel to have no towels, then offer to make things right, but then never actually make things right.
Overall review: 4 stars for the actual building architecture, negative 6 stars for the terrible manager of this hotel. Total rating: -2, but I guess 1 star is the lowest I can give

This is an absolute stunning hotel nestled perfectly in the heart of Coconut Grove . From the moment we walked in the customer service was outstanding . We were greeted and welcomed so warmly by the staff . Just entering into the Mayfair was like being transported to somewhere else , some secluded paradise. The rooms were immaculate , beautiful and wonderfully lit. Everything about this hotel makes you feel like you can decompress and truly enjoy your stay. And breakfast was exceptional with the most engaging wait staff.

My stay at Mayfair House was wonderful. The manager and staff greeted me upon arrival, knew my name, and handed me a beverage. They gave me an upgrade to an exceptional suite that was 4x the size of what I expected and dramatically exceeded my expectations. The outdoor patio with outdoor shower, lush greenery, stone work, tile and fan was so relaxing to end each night on. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Service was eager to please, and prompt. I will surely be visiting again. This remodel is absolutely beautiful and it seems like a GREAT time to visit in the "early stages," since they're doing so much for guests. I also have to say the rooftop with pool, full bar, and tonssss of lounge beds, is PHENOMENAL, like The Standard level of quality. I would suspect this becomes a Coconut Grove hotspot. Get on it!

Let's start with what was good... Nothing. This property is probably one of the worst experiences in Miami. Let's start with the room; it's ok, old, the bathroom is basic, you can break your head in the shower since it's slippery and water spills out and the amenities are very basic. Also, there are very few towels (two large and one small). The air condition makes a BANG every time it starts, so sleeping is very difficult for those of us who have light sleep.
But the cherry of the pie is the service, bad will be an understatement. They will text you very nice messages but don't expect any actions. We asked on our way out for more pillows and more towels (only two pillows hard as rocks). We came back at 11.30pm and there was nothing in the room. Called reception and 1/2 hour later they appeared with the pillows and the towels. On Sunday morning we wanted to have breakfast in the room... No Room service. We went down to the restaurant, had breakfast and went to the reception to ask for a late checkout (1 pm). An extremely rude front desk person told us that checkout was at 11 am and after 12, or a 75$ penalty will be imposed on the bill. We told her that we stayed for the breakfast/brunch advertised with the hotel. She scornfully told us that the penalty will be charged if we stayed past 12. That sealed the opinion, this property is not worth going. For the price, the Ritz Carlton is a much better offer and probably a much friendlier too. To be fair, the front desk supervisor took away the night parking fee ($42) to compensate for an obnoxious and impolite employee.

The hotel is lovely! Food awesome, cocktails fantastic! Service was excellent! Just a quick note, they do charge a pet cleaning fee if you plan on bringing your furry friend. The location is excellent as well, right across the street is coconut walk with great restaurants and nightlife. The hotel also offers bicycles to take a nice bike ride and explore coconut Grove and Brickell. Overall, we are having a great time and the experience has been excellent.

I believe they have a valet service, with a parking garage around the corner.
It’s located in Coconut Grove which is located close to the Bay. Transportation would be needed to any of the beaches.
Good afternoon,
Yes, the hotel has been closed from August 2021 to August 2022 for a complete renovation.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Regards,
Sinan Bozkurt
