My husband and I totally loved our stay at Kingsail Resort. The only complaint is that we didn’t stay long enough! The room was immaculate and freshly painted. The view was incredible, and we loved the manatees and chickens. Unlike some other reviewers, I loved hearing the roosters’ crowing…they made me smile. And they were such fun to watch!! We will definitely come back and we will stay much longer…hopefully in the same unit. Many thanks to the great staff and the owner of this resort. You go above and beyond to ensure your guests are completely happy. One of our best mini-vacations ever!!
I think it's important to start off by saying there is absolutely no such thing as cheap accommodation in the Florida Keys and I thought here was quite expensive too. But having read the reviews my expectations were low. But I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were very nice when we arrived and we had arrived early and our room was available. it was nice and spacious and clean. It could definitely do with a few touch ups here and there but overall it was clean and comfortable, we had a lovely little covered porch kinda area with chairs overlooking the water and that was so nice. When I went over to the water there was manatees swimming by which was so lovely to see. The pool wasn't heated and it wasn't the hottest day so I didnt get it but it was fine. the chairs around the pool had seen better days. The only thing I would say and I hadn't seen it mentioned in other reviews was that there was a lot of planes flying right over the resort to land in the nearby airport and they came right over the pool area and that was quite loud. But definitely enjoyed my stay and would stay here again it felt very safe.…
I wouldn't recommend this resort to anyone. I showed up a week early after making a reservation date mistake on Expedia. The reservation was not changeable or cancellable. Kingsail refused to apply my reservation payment to the two rooms I rented. And then a rooster crowed behind our building all night. We finally gave up and left about 5 in the morning.
Don’t stay in Room 118 if you are expecting peace and quiet in the morning. It’s directly next to the laundry room and the cleaning people don’t seem to care that guests may want to sleep past 7am. Also, I had hoped to relax on the screen porch in the morning and that is impossible to do in Room 118 with the staff constantly shuttling in and out of the laundry room, plus they leave their cleaning carts outside right next to the screen porch. After the oldest cleaning woman woke me up with her loud voice, I got up and went out for a walk and politely asked her and a bearded man with glasses to please be quiet because people were still sleeping. At first the guy apologized, then seemed to encourage me to go to the office to complain. What’s the point when you’ve already woken me up? He then continued to argue with me, saying “I just got here! It was not me!” I told him I was referring to the old woman and he again started arguing with me and told me to complain at the office. I decided it would be better to air my complaints on Tripadvisor to warn people how they will be treated if they book a room here.…
I grew up here back in late 1970s to early 1980s...it has taken 40yrs to be able to come back and visit my childhood home and pier my Dad originally built (it's STILL there after all these years and many hurricanes). Dad was a builder/developer and always focused on quality standards. A huge THANK YOU to Mardie, Manny, Luis, and Oscar for helping me and coordinating an absolutely wonder stay at Kingsail. They helped select just the right room and timing for my stay. Without them I would not have been able to maximize my experience, and be able to revisit all the places on my family to-do list. They all represented what true "hospitality" is supposed to be. Thank you again to Mardie, Manny, Luis, and Oscar. You all represented Kingsail very well.
Me and my wife absolutely loved our stay in kingsail resort our room was clean beds were comfortable the ac worked great and the staff was absolutely wonderful I enjoyed the lagoon on site and was so excited to see A manatee in the back lagoon. The front desk was absolutely sweet. mardi was a big help in all of our questions being asked. I read some of these reviews and I can definitely assure you they are wrong. -andrew from Savannah GA.
Best place I’ve stayed in the keys, affordable rooms plenty of boat docking, coffee hut in the morning and FREE KAYAKING. Manatees everywhere and the absolute best customer service. Mrs mardi was the best at her job made us feel like family I’m taking her to lunch we come back next year ❤️
My daughter and I recently stayed at KingsSail for a short girls get away. We could not have picked a better place to stay. This hotel is a hidden gem and reminded us of why we love quiet mom and pop hotels. The entire staff was warm and welcoming, offering any help that was needed. It felt like they were old friends. Our room was also perfect for us, comfortable and clean! The grounds of this hotel are well kept and you could see that the staff was proud of the area and hotel. It felt like each staff member was invested in the place. I would very highly recommend this hotel for anyone that is looking for a quiet and peaceful stay in the keys. I am sure we will be visiting and staying here again!
Great place. Clean and friendly. Pool is nice, tiki hut with tables by the water. Boat launch and piers to park your boat. Only downsides are that it’s next to the airport and there aren’t any restaurants within close walking distance but there is one next door that’s in the process of opening. Even saw a manatee.
So. I’m not accustomed to paying $300/night for a MOTEL. But it was a clean motel. And I hear it’s a decent price for the keys. Nice to have a fridge and microwave. Ac worked good. Linens were good quality also. We loved the back deck. Parking kinda sucked.
