Booking through Airbnb was easy and host communicative. Arrived shortly before 4pm checkin and was told housekeeping hadn't cleaned our Bungalow. We grabbed our swims suits and went to the pool. I went back to front desk at 5:15 to ask status of room and was told they were looking for the housecleaner . I didn't dare leave the front desk until it was confirmed the accommodations were getting prepared. We got into our room at 5:30 to shower for dinner reservations nearby. I did ask the office for consideration for room not being ready, they said they could wave the daily resort fee of 40 dollars. Getting that done since our visit has been several phone calls and assurances it will be done. Hoping todays call resolves the refund. Take advantage of Pelican Coves beach very nice and lounge chairs . Bar at the attached pool wonderful great Pina Coladas.…
Gorgeous, resort level nice ,clean and amazingly neat and well kept for the keys. Lots of free recreational toys, etc. Gorgeous family friendly pool area. Cottages would be lovely next time! Awesome service.
The resort has beautiful views and peaceful rooms. We never had an issue with getting good rest. The staff was mostly friendly. The white guy at the front desk needs to work on his customer service skills. The other drawbacks were the following: No liquor is served at the tiki bar. The wait is long for food, and the food isn’t that good. The room, for the cost you pay, is lacking. The refrigerator door wouldn’t close all the way. The shower and tub looked old and dingy. The remote for the television worked sometimes and sometimes it did not. It wasn’t a battery issue either. The lighting in the room is horrible. There is trash all over the grounds by the dumpsters. There is a coffee station at the front desk area, but coffee is not made available until 8 or 8:30. The pool had a lot of debris in it and wasn’t cleaned out. There was trash thrown behind fences at the pool that was never picked up. It is pet friendly, but some dogs barked a lot and some owners, (not the resorts fault), didn’t pick up after their dogs pooped on the beach right by the lounge chairs. Also, there is a big checker board on the grounds that my kids enjoyed playing with however, some of the pieces were missing. Just little things that need to be corrected for the price you pay.…
The rooms were very nice. Nice view of the ocean, walk out patio's nice swimming heated pool , the guy working on the beach was a very nice guy friendly and very helpful. The front desk person helped us out with getting a lower level to help with getting to the rooms and we were upgraded to a beach front cabin with great view of the ocean.
I would give this 3 1/2 stars if it was an option. It was good but not very good. We stayed at the resort for 6 nights with a family of 5. We booked this hotel over President's Week as it was the only option in Islamorada that was left that would allow 5 in its double queen room with queen sofa bed ocean view. It was a nice sized room with a separate living area and table- with a closed door between. Our room had a nice ocean view and view of the resort. We were worried with wristbands at the sister properties that it would be an issue but they weren't checked anywhere. Pros: nice property, very small, good for kids to wander, pool was pretty warm, very quiet and family oriented. Kayaks, SUPS, bikes included in your stay. Nice sunrise views on the property. Good sized fridge and counter and storage for food in room. Rooms were nice size and had a good view. Got texts to do free oceanfront yoga after we were there for a night- it was very nice- offered Wed- Saturday at Amara Cay. Free fish like a local with Patrick was fantastic- he was wonderful. I only wish it was offered more and there were more activities earlier in the week. Cons- skeleton staff, housekeeping uneven but our room was clean. People seemed to be waiting till late in the day to get their rooms. One day housekeeping didn't come till 8 pm to clean the room- at that point it was too late. There is no restaurant and snack bar- tiki is a very limited menu and only open till 6. The beach itself is tiny and lots of seaweed on shore that should be cleared by staff and a lot in the water. One of the reasons we booked La Siesta was that it had an actual beach and I thought my kids would go in the water but no one but a dog went in. The lawn games were great to have- but most were broken in some way. Trash cans are teeny- especially for kitchen area. They need bigger cans- especially when having to eat some meals in the room since there is no restaurant and there was no recycling on the resort. Most people only seemed to stay a night or two. Internet was down one day- it was fixed but didn't seem to be a priority when we spoke to the desk. The shuttle was down the whole time we were there and many were very upset about that- there is only one shuttle for all of the resorts. It was a bit overpriced for what we paid for it. The resort itself was simple but nice, but I wouldn't return. …
Yes 6 of us spent 3 nights here day after day problems. Staff lied to my face 2 times 1st room was dirty curtains were falling down a mess and very dirty. Staff said if we stay the night they would give us better room well in morning they said they couldn't. No Wifi most of the time there. For the price this is terrible and we travel all over Europe with students we are both Tour Director's and travel year round. Not worth the money stay away from this place.
This was hands down the worst value and experience I’ve ever had in the Islamorada area. Will never recommend or stay here again. The filth in each room from the floor to the baseboards and furniture and we spoke to staff / management 4+ times as well as informed AirBnB but all they would do is bring more towels. They never made an attempt to clean the place and never refunded our resort fees as they had promised. We spent way to much on this poorly run place for a weekly rental and I highly suggest you look elsewhere. No excuse for how poorly managed this place is or how dirty it was.
This resort is absolutely perfect. We have been coming here for several years they treat us like family. When you check in at the front desk ask for Marilyn tell her” Luke “said hi and from that moment on she will take extra great care of you!! Marilyn will always go out of her way to make sure your stay here at this resort is absolutely perfect. Clean, friendly and lots of other free amenities come along with your stay here. It’s a tropical paradise !
Based on other reviews, we were expecting a lot worse. We arrived early and were told we could explore the resort with resort passes while we waited for our room.No worries, and then by the time we changed into swim suits our room was ready. Excellent. Room was clean and ready when we arrived. I assume we had one of the cheapest rooms at the resort. It was set up very oddly, the TV in the living room was so far away from the couch I had to go up to the TV to see what channel it was on. (my eye sight isn’t even that bad) and the TV in the room with the beds straight up didn’t work, we even switched the TVs to see if it was a device issue; no, it was just whatever cables in the bedroom didn’t work. First day our room was cleaned while we were out, second day it was not. We called down for towels. Approx 2 hours later we got towels, however we had gone to the beach to get beach towels by that time. What is said about this hotel’s bar is true. Intermittently staffed and very limited options - canned domestic beers, maybe a corona option and then the seltzer options were Jim beam or a Bloody Mary in a can. I recommend taking the short walk (or free shuttle 3pm-11pm) and going to the Amara Cay for their tiki bar and food service. Excellent pool at the Amara Cay too. Shuttle will also take you four miles in each direction, so great for bar hopping or dinner plans. La siesta has the better beach/docks and do have access to bikes rentals, as well as kayaks and paddle boards if the sea conditions allow.…
Deleted an earlier review. The resort has grown on me. Lovely grounds. Access to three other resorts. Room a little lackluster but we are probably in one of the cheapest units. Pool is clean and well maintained. Lots of docks with chairs for enjoying the water views. Resort has a few minor issues but overcame most of them. Feel like it’s a little overpriced for our room and resort fee pretty high but would come back.
