Very unique resort with numerous opportunities for adventure for all levels of comfort zone! We brought three generations to this resort, (my kids, my parents, and my wife), and we had an outstanding trip. Our only regret was not staying longer. See my mom’s review in the picture.
If you are looking for a vacation with sailing as the main recreation this is the spot! Our sailboat was well maintained and easy to handle with great staff that are very helpful and accommodating when going out or coming in from the dock or mooring.
Would love to come back if it works out!

My husband and I are from Michigan and came down to sail since our Michigan sailing season Is over until May. Long story short, I took a wrong step from the dock to our boat taxi, caught my foot on a line and went down hard, breaking my wrist. But everyone there flew into action immediately to make sure I got the care I needed. They were really quite amazing. Their kindness continued when we returned from the ER - they offered extra pillows and whatever else they could that would make me more comfortable and checked in regularly to see if there was anything we needed. We nearly took an early flight home but decided to stay because nothing could be done until after three days after the swelling went down anyway so we decided to stay in paradise and finish out our vacation. So glad we stayed. Even though it wasn’t what we intended it to be, we did relax! The view from our cottage was spectacular and very therapeutic. I think we would actually come back whether we could sail or not. And we feel like we have met some of the kindest people on the planet and we hope to go back someday and actually sail next time! If you come, get to know the staff. They’re fascinating people with lots of inspiring stories you’ll want to hear.

Clean comfortable fantastic location and the staff was friendly and very accommodating! Sailboat use was fantastic and a perfect area to sail. We stayed in the Captains Cottage the views were great, could sleep a lot of people if need be, they thought of everything as far as kitchen, baths, etc... also has inside and private outside shower. Free use of so many fun water toys and bikes. Walking distance to great restaurants, CVS, etc. No need to move the car. Rosie and G were great! We will be back!

The decor is "college dorm room". The entrance is sketchy-looking. The staff is amazing and the setting is true paradise. Cottages were immaculately clean and comfortable with kitchenettes. Rent a private cottage and it comes with the use of a 22-foot sailboat, all the water toys (kayaks, snorkeling gear, bikes, etc.) and it's all yours for the entire stay. The cost per night is very reasonable and although there's no room service, there are several excellent restaurants within walking distance and a liquor store and grocery store nearby as well. We truly enjoyed our week here

My husband and I stayed in the Sailfish cottage for 5 days over his birthday and it was one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve ever had! We loved the outdoor shower. The cabin is small, but extremely comfortable (great bed and we’re picky) and very clean. It has all the amenities and features you need including: mini fridge/freezer, 2 burner stove, cookware, dishes, microwave, coffee maker, cable TV with streaming. But more importantly the most incredible ocean front view right from the bed!! Outside you also have a covered tiki area with hammocks, outdoor table/seating, large cooler and a grill - were able to grill a couple of nights, but there’s also plenty of amazing restaurants very close by. Close enough to walk or boat to.
I also loved that EVERYTHING is inclusive. We were able to kayak with manatees, kayak in the mangroves, and sail every single day. There weren’t any extra, hidden fees. Snorkel, fishing equipment, life vests, and paddle boards are also free to use.
The staff is *phenomenal* and so friendly - Jenn is the absolute best!! We’re wanting to come back with our family and she let us tour the other cabins. If we needed extra towels she’d pop by with them. She even brought us some fresh red grouper she had - what a treat!!
We also stayed in Key West and wished we had just stayed here the entire vacation. Key West is great if you want large crowds of drunk people bumping into you and the smell w**d and beer p*ss everywhere you go. Key Largo is great if you want to kick back, relax, enjoy nature, eat fresh seafood and enjoy life & killer sunsets. If you’re super bougie/extra and expect 5 star accommodations you may not like Key Lime Cottages because it’s old school Florida keys. But I’m a fairly bougie person and I absolutely LOVED it, so maybe give it a chance. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend!!!

We stayed here with our four adult children in August. We stayed in the main house, which was plenty big for all of us. I'm not quite sure how to describe the decor, but it was a fascinating combination of nautical, Chinese and Egyptian. The kitchen was well-equipped. The A/C was sufficient. The beds were comfy. And everything was clean and tidy when we got there.
The staff was great. We got to know several of them over the week, and have nothing but nice things to say. At one point, the microwave malfunctioned, and the staff had a new microwave installed within hours.
The private beach was small, but adequate for our needs, which essentially boils down to providing access to the water. We spent every night on the beach and at the tiki hut for the amazing sunsets and to socialize with our neighbors. We met some great people.
We were impressed with the large amount of water toys that were available for us to use. Plenty of paddle boards, kayaks, snorkel sets. We never once had a problem getting the item we were after.
The snorkeling around the docks was great. Plenty of sea life to investigate. It kept us busy all week.
The only downsides that we can think of are that there were no fans available in the main house. (It's always nice to sleep with a fan.) And that there were no laundry facilities on the premises. But these are minor quibbles, compared to all the great positives that this place has to offer.

Beautiful facility, Jen and Wess were knowledgeable about the area and always available. The water was clear, saw manatees right off the dock! Kayaks were in great condition, multiple things to use in the water including snorkeling equipment!

We had the best vacation at Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages that we have had in a very long time! The entrance is unassuming (we had to make a couple of U-turns to find it) but we were waved in by Property Manager, Housekeeping and Maintenance, Jenn with an enthusiastic greeting. Jenn gave us a thorough tour of the property, water toys for use, tiki hut, and our cottage. She gave us a list of local points of interest, restaurants, grocery, etc.. She also introduced us to her pet iguana, Martin which the kids enjoyed seeing.
Our cottage (The Keys) was clean, well maintained, and provided all that was expected. In this particular cottage, the queen bed (terrific mattress) is nestled in a corner up three steps, which we had a great laugh about doing par core in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.
We had access to a 22ft Catalina, included in our cottage stay, after being cleared by the onsite Boat Captain, Laurel, and given thorough safety instructions by the Dock Master, Wes. We were also offered assistance with sailing from Steve. Wes made sure all guests were well informed about wether conditions to ensure the safety of all guests. Safety gear (life vests, recreational diving flags) were provided by Key Lime. We were able to swim and snorkel at the docks, which we did. We saw beautiful parrot fish, grouper, grunt, hermit crabs, starfish, and a variety of seagrasses and corals right under the docks!
Every night we stepped right outside to the docks and Tiki hut to watch the magnificent sunsets provided by mother nature!
Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages offers the convenience of taking an ASA sailing class right on the property. Captain Laurel was an encouraging, thorough, experienced, and all around excellent teacher!
Because Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages provides so many things to do, focuses on guest safety with water activities, has an island vibe, and gorgeous view of the bay, we were active, yet relaxed, entertained by nature above, on and below water, and we look forward to returning!

If you are looking for the classic Keys vibe this is the place to stay! The cottages are are so cool and give you the feeling you live there. Paul (the owner), Jan (office manager) and Chuck (groundskeeper) treat you like personal friends. Throw all your pretentions out the window and settle in for a great rejuvenating stay.
Full access to kayaks, paddle boats, sailboats, fishing rods. Spend your days exploring the backcountry waters of the Keys. Excellent tidy-sized waterfront where you will make friends at the Tiki hut and be able to keep an eye on the kids! Can't wait to go back there next year for a more extended stay.
If you are looking for "high end" services, a fancy restaurant and a waterfront bar with live music, you won't find it here but you will find them a short walk away. This is strictly a "home-keeping" style place - just the way I like it! Richard V., Toronto

We used to think there were only 2 reasons to visit the Florida Keys, the weather and the water. We now know that there are 3, the weather, the water, and now, Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages.
After taking their ASA sailing classes we were surprised to learn that we had a Catalina 22 assigned to our cottage. Just for us. No need to schedule or share. What a unique concept! After a day of sailing, kayaking or paddle boarding, it was so relaxing to sit at their beach/dock area to watch the sunsets that the Keys are famous for.
The reason for the 5 stars? The staff! We truly felt like we were a valued part of their community. Our very "Keysy" Dolphin House was spotless and so comfortable. During our stay, we got to know the house, dock, and teaching staff, we realized that we were not just customers, but a part of their family. It was a very personalized approach that made us feel so welcomed and not wanting to leave.
If your looking for glitz, glamour, and that "just another number" feeling, there's one of those places close by. However, if you truly want to experience the real Florida Keys in its natural setting, Key Lime Sailing Club is for you.
