This was our 6th January stay at Neptune Inn, and we'll be returning next year. We just love our beachfront suite, and the staff is more than helpful.. There are so many (outdoor) restaurants and shops within walking distance, plus a free Ft Myers Beach open trolly, so we don't even need a car. We can't think of a better place to escape the northeast for a few weeks.

We went with 2 other couples and all of us enjoyed the stay! Grocery store was't far. We walked for snacks and beverages to keep in our rooms. The restautant choices were great from higher end to the great burger choices. The beach was well maintained and lovely. Made our beach time so enjoyable.Would come back again!

My family has been staying at the Neptune Inn since 2005. We are local and would stay a least three times a year for one or days. We also have had family and friends visiting staying their as well. All in about 20 overnights a year. Regretfully our visit on December 27th, 2021 will be our last.. My daughter and grand children were visiting from California and I booked a room that night for $329.20. With Tax of $39.70 and a Resort Fee of $15.99, the total charge was $384.89. Now the location will always be great but for that amount I would expect that the pools that on previous winter visits were heated, this visit...they were not. For $384. 89 you would think the pools would be clean...they were not. Green slime was in one pool the other was ok but had film on the walls. For $384.89 you would expect that towels would always be available....that was not always the case. You would also expect that the parking lot would have been cleaned up from a wind storm the prior week but no it was not. causing you track sand in to your room. Rooms have always been average but location and amenities made up for it. When brought to the attention of the front desk i was hoping some discount may have been offered. but no jus that they are under new management. Well my word to new management is I'm done. Margaretville is opening in 2023 and I will find other locations until then.

Long story... Positives : - location right on the beach is great. Not too busy an area compared with other parts. Walking distance to loads of restaurants - outdoor facilities are good. Nice shaded picnic and eating areas. Two decent pools. Cornhole area. Lots of seating. -assigned parking Neutrals - there are beach loungers. But you have to take them out yourself. They stack them after - beach towels available, but sometimes low on stock and don't allow you to take more than 1. - rooms have sink, fridgr, TV - staff are a mixed bunch. Cleaners good, reception staff mixed Negatives - rooms are poor. Our barhroom sliding door didn't lock. Shower head looked like it was 20 years old. - ac works but is old and noisy Neptune is a beach motel and i can't understand why it's called a resort. The prices are so expensive but i guess that's demand driven. Tips Try to get a room close to beach with balcony. Local area restaurants are very mixed. The traffic is incredibly busy. Day trippers coming and going means it takes 20 mins to go a mile. We couldn't use our rental when we stayed there... We should have just got a car service. Very easy to walk to most places.

Amazing location. Right on the beach. We could easily run back to our room for anything. With 4 teens, we walked to a different restaurant for each meal for our whole stay. Tuckaway bagel Cafe is steps away and has amazing food. For every other meal we walked to the main center, within a mile away, which we loved (we opted to skip the ice cream shop across the street because it was too close, but it's an option, If you want it). The beach is soft and white. It's walkable and runnable (a rarity in our opinion). The room was clean and they cleaned our room the days we forgot to put out the do not disturb sign. Absolutely no room issues. We checked in after midnight, and the night security guy was awesome. They have coffee in the lobby, but due to so many little kids drinking coffee everyday (like elementary aged), there was no vanilla creamer for 3 of our days, so we had to go buy some. The only con (not regarding the hotel), is the traffic is insane. Walk, if able, if it's within 1 or 1.5 miles (which most everything was for us). We had a paddleboard excursion, and when maps said we had 2.0 miles back to the hotel, I walked while hubbie drove, and I beat them by 27 minutes! I'm not exaggerating...I walked 2 miles down Estero and BEAT them by 27 minutes. Insane that it was like that all week, but we only drove in it twice.
