We stayed at the Bay Inn at the Lani Kai, which is just across the street from the Lani Kai itself and has its own dock. While we were able to enjoy the amenities of the hotel, there were no issues with noise at night due to being at the other, quieter location. A bunch of excellent restaurants were within very short walking distance, and with the beach right across the street we never had to travel much. It's a shame they Lani Kai doesn't have their own chairs, as the umbrella/chair service is $29/day. Instead, we bought our own umbrella and chairs as the week's cost was cheaper. The room itself was pretty clean with a comfortable bed and couch -- we actually had two rooms within our room itself. Going in the off season to avoid Spring Break traffic was a good move, but I would return to enjoy more of it anytime.

Easy check in. Friendly staff. Property has lots to offer right on the beach. Cleanliness was so-so, but acceptable. Would stay there again. We stayed at the Inn across the street and would consider staying in the main hotel with an ocean view. All main hotel rooms have ocean view. The Inn is ok and has a nice patio out back.

We were looking forward to spend some quiet time, just my husband and our kids... Which did not happen at all: This place is everything but Peaceful. We arrived on a Sunday, stayed on the second floor on the west end of the building, right on top of the bar. The ultra loud live music did not stop until 1:30 in the morning, making it impossible to sleep . Then, at seven in the morning the following day, the garbage truck Noises woke us up. Nice. Now, the smell.. trash scent on that end of the building, was so disgusting, with the "aroma" of the garbage containers. We had breakfast in the panoramic restaurant, it was just "OK". We bought ear plugs just in case the loud music was going to be unbearable again on the second night, which indeed happened! ... and then, on the third ..and fourth night aghhh. We came back home even more tired than how we arrived to our "holiday" week. Bottom-line, it all depends on your vacation expectations: If your idea is to go and drink yourself to death every night in that bar, and then go to bed with enough alcohol in your system to ignore the loud noise ("music") then this IS the perfect place for you. But if your idea is to have some quiet time with your family and relax: NEVER stay here.

Loved location and loved location of our room. Top floor - great view. This hotel is family owned something to be proud of by todays standards. It is also older. Definitely not a 4 or 5 star. Rooms are clean, however. Beds especially pillows need to be updated although we slept well-probably all the beach air! Location can’t be beat. Very close to restaurants, bars and shopping. Would consider staying again if a few amenities were updated.

Our first time here, great Christmas present to us. We had the one bedroom suite with balcony and loved it so much we booked for next year at our check out. Staff was wonderful, my brother needed a fan and they had no problem taking care of his request at no additional charge. Great food, the beach and activities were above and beyond. Housekeeping took good care of us for the 6 days we were there. Walking distance to everything you might need during your stay. Before and after pictures of our trip.
