We came to Hawks Cay for a multigenerational family get away and were not disappointed. My kids loved the lagoon with the free paddle boarding and canoeing. They loved getting to see the dolphins as well! They spent the entire time back and forth between snorkeling in the protected lagoon and swimming in the pool. My favorite was the poolside food and drink service. The food was excellent and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The resort has such a great view of the surrounding water and has a ton of water sports right there. It was a perfect vacation. We will definitely be back!
We are repeat visitors to Hawks Cay- this resort is simply gorgeous.. From the pools to the beach cove- and the rooms and villas.. SO nice- also the staff is amazing- they are so friendly and go out of their way to make your stay wonderful.. Jason at the adults pool bar is great!!
We had a villa for 9 people. The pool was covered in sand from the previous guests, it was never cleaned (the paperwork said the pool would be cleaned Mon, Wed and Fri no one ever came). I even asked the front desk and they sent someone to sweep the deck. No one ever came to vacuum. The wifi is awful, we could not make any outgoing calls which at a resort on vacation I normally would not care about because we should have been able to use the villa phones. The phones did not work. When addressed the woman at the front desk just said "oh they don't?" never took down our villa number or info. As for house keeping/we just needed new towels, I asked the woman at the front desk about mid week through our stay how to go about getting new towels, returning used ones. The woman asked me how many I needed, was very nice and then handed me 10 towels to walk back with or wait for the golf cart to bring me back to the villa. At a resort that is not cheap this was unacceptable to me. The children's area/pool: Grille was not open, we were told we could not bring our own food or drinks but we had no other option as the grille was closed for an unknown time frame. We had our daughters birthday party there and wanted to provide food for our family that came on the trip with us. That was disappointing. The other part that was disappointing for how expensive of a resort this is was the condition of the splash pad that had a pirate ship. Pictures make it look so nice and fun. Well the pain on the ship was chipping everywhere, the ropes for windows, staircases were all ripped, broken. The spray cannons were broken. Just very disappointing. Gave it a two because the food was great and two of the staff members were absolutely amazing! Super kind and always interacting with us. All other members we came into contact with we felt as though we were bothering them.…
Don’t hesitate to book! We are leaving tomorrow and already talking about when we can return! Service has been outstanding. The Dolphin Connection is an exceptional facility located on the grounds. We did the encounter with our 5 & 7 year old sons, our 72 & 90 year old grandparents and it was an experience to remember. Hawks has helped us make the memories that last a lifetime. The Aquarium is 15 minutes away and also has encounters - I highly recommend both feeding the nurse sharks & swimming with the stingrays. Islamorada is only 20 minutes away. Key West 1 hour 20 min. Excellent food at the resort. Have the grandparents watch the kids and head out on a bar crawl. You absolutely can not go wrong. Sunrise / Sunset / Incredible Memories to Last a Lifetime!
My family and I have been going to this hotel for almost 10 years. After the hurricane we had the opportunity to go a few times and had different experiences on each of them, however the last one was so disappointing that we are seriously thinking of not going back. This time we stayed in a Vila and apparently each little house is owned by a different person and they can organize it the way they prefer. The house we were in was terrible, the owners didn't take care of it at all. The lights were flickering, the jacuzzi was dirty and broke, and the house was falling apart. We asked if someone could come and help us with the jacuzzi and they said, only on Monday and we got there on Friday and by Monday we would be gone already. The reception kept saying they had nothing they could do. The last issue was that it was raining and they had no activities in the hotel to entertain the guests, the World Cup had started and they weren't showing anywhere and there was no restaurant after 5 pm. Really disappointing. …
They take tourism, serious. We had a wedding party to attend down there and we loved every minute of it. The property was well maintained. The actual hotel resort staff were among the best trained folks i have come across.
We went down for a company retreat and had an amazing time. Weather was perfect which added to the experience. We had Matt as our bartender and he handled our large group during our stay. Looking forward to coming back!
Great getaway for the second year in a row! Perfect for families with young or adult children. The staff is tremendous and extremely friendly. World Class Fishing . Recommend Snapshot Fishing Charters with Captain Andrew Hall and First Mate Nick. Put us on fish on both trips with an 80lb Sailfish to end the trip.
We just returned from Hawk's Cay and our vacation rates up there with one of our best! The resort is absolutely CLEAN and beautiful. The food is delicious and breakfast outside by the pools is delightful, The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied. The front office manager Mr. Lucas Ryter is OUTSTANDING. He helped us with activity options and gave fabulous dinner recommendations, not only on Duck Key; but also, on, Islamorada and Key West! This is an extremely well run resort and was a PERFECT place to vacation in January.
Very cool property with a lot to do for couples or families with children. The royal swim dolphin experience is a must! The rooms are nice and spacious with a clean, functional bathroom. I would have given five stars but the staff at the Market Place could be friendlier. However Jason at the Pilar Bar is awesome! He has a lot of knowledge of the area along with ‘keys’ history.
