Right in the middle of Vail Village, Sitzmark offered a convenient place to get away from the hustle and bustle. They were very accommodating for COVID and I felt safe and secure during the stay. Though old, it felt like the real historic Vail that has been around for I can't help but see a review from another minority. My friend and I had a great experience and never felt slighted or uncomfortable during our visit. Would recommend to anyone of any race, religion, color, creed, or sexual orientation.
My family stayed here for 3 nights for skiing. As many pointed out, the location can't be beat. We had a comfortable stay and appreciated all the staff whom we encountered. Marjorie checked us in and out and she was efficient and friendly. Despite the age of the hotel, everything appeared to be very clean. We also enjoyed the amenities such as the pool, hot tub and very much appreciated the humidifier in the room. A couple of minor complaints would be 1) the thermostat - it doesn't seem to really control the temp. We ended up having to crack open the door every night to avoid getting too hot in the room. 2) Because of not being able to keep the door close due to temperature, we heard people talking and laughing out on the street. I would recommend ear plugs if staying here, although I didn't hear any noise from other rooms. All in all, would definitely consider staying here again next time we're back at Vail!…
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was cute and felt homey, and was very walkable within Vail Village. My only complaint was that because it’s an old hotel, the walls were very thin and we were woken up several times every night by other doors being shut, but were able to get white noise on our phones to drown most of it out. The last night we were there was the worst, as the guy next door came home belligerent at midnight and was yelling and banging on doors. When we opened our door to see what was going on, he started cussing at us and we just went back into our room. Had it not been our last night there, we would've moved rooms. So- if you’re a light sleeper and planning to stay here, bring a couple white noise machines and you’ll have a wonderful time!…
If my review can save one minority, young and urban , person to not have the nightmare of the experience I had then that’s all that matters!! Jeanne the manager along with the entire staff of this place in vail is exactly what is wrong with the world in 2020. Since it’s a small family owned place they know they can treat their paying guests as terrible as they want with no Repercussions or answering to corporate. I was threatened with police for being upset they charged my card without my authorization. My feelings where mocked and questioned by the owner, with tears in my eyes describing the hell her staff put me through. The owner and male general manger silenced me because I’m a young Latina women who they felt they could just kick out instead of resolving an unhappy paying guest complaints. I have NEVER been so unwelcome and uncomfortable t a hotel. I cried the entire stay from the mistreatment and the way the male manager silenced me instead of acknowledging what their staff did. Instead of trying to make the situation right , Jeanne and her staff choose to discriminate against me and when upset threatened with police and to leave. Literally stay anywhere else with your hard earned money! We need to create a better world for our children and their future and the staff at sitzmark lodge are stuck in the past. Disgusting behavior…
The Staff was already on high alert with "suspicion" They turned my night stay into a NIGHTMARE. I Have never felt so unwelcomed uninvited and embarrassed being a paying guest. They informed me my credit card was charged while having guests in my room for drinks, after going to lobby & asking why she would charge our card without our authorization & being meet with rudeness i was threatened with police by Clara. I was in SHOCK! is this how they deal with all upset guest?? I think NOT clara also didnt give us a refund after being threatened and embarrassed IN front of my colleagues she made us wait for the day manager. when my guest left i went to clara showing they werent staying the night , she then said she never charged the card! i couldnt believe the mind games & the embarrassing situation SHE put us through, a hotel in Vail Village that we paid EXTRA for. UNNACCEPTABLE I didnt even sleep! Morning manager Jeanne was (i thought ) understanding, with tears in my eyes i explained my night and after repeatedly telling me she thought we were "suspicious" from the start i realized what she meant! We didnt fit her Normal clientele. after 20 minutes of crying to the owner i could tell it wasnt getting anywhere & seeing she didnt want to take responsibility for her guests complete discomfort and mocking my feelings a few times, we shook hands. She told me to come back on our way out which i did to only be meet with a male manager who tried to silence me & tell me that he KNEW i they where welcoming and they had done nothing wrong. You could imagine my frustration! i said in a loud shaken voice "you threatned me with police how is that welcoming?" and after telling me to "Speak like an adult" and calm down (im a young Latina woman with thick curly hair and as a white man this is what THEY DO) i did as told & was quiet until he spoke and repeated the same thing, that they did nothing wrong and when i began to speak- he barked at me to vacay the premises! I have never been treated SO poorly, meet with suspicion at any hotel ive stayed at and weve been lucky enough to travel the world & stay at some beautiful places ! its 2020- SUSPICION and DISCRIMINATION should never be tolerated! Dont spend your hard earned money on a place where the Owner ADMITS to treating her guest in such a terrible way!…
