Very friendly upfront but when we had a problem with our rental having some damage ( which I was fully responsible for) they asked me to replace the part and I said fine give me the old one since I’m paying for the new one. That apparently is an issue as they wanted to keep renting it out with the damaged part. I said okay if you’re gonna keep renting it with the damaged part then let me split the difference with you and you keep that one. Nope. It’s full price or we will charge you anyway. The husband was very abrasive and not willing to be civil about it but the wife was more understanding. They threatened to charge me for it to sit there waiting for the new part if I took the old one but also said wouldn’t rent it out because of the damaged part. In the end I had to borrow some tools from some very friendly people in town (after being told to pretty much screw off from the gas station/repair shop owner) and I took the part off I had paid for. They should offer more than tire/belt insurance and should try to be a bit more civil and lean more towards customer service if they would like to continue doing business. All in all I would say not to rent from here and choose a place that offers damage insurance instead.…
Hands down great place to stay. We will be coming back yearly! Cabins fully equipped for what was needed, and very clean! Only down fall was no pets, which we understand but would have been nice to bring the whole family.
Some friends and myself spent a week in two cabins riding SXS in between Lake city and Silverton and had a blast. The people who ran the resort were the best, anything we need just ask. They had all the info on local spots and all the trails. We needed and air compressor at 7am for our trailer the day we were leaving and they were right there to help and suggest tire shops to get repairs. The cabins inside design seem dated, but that was part of the charm, and are in immaculate clean condition. We will be back!
We just spent another six nights in the Oxyoke #6 cabin that is handled by the Pleasant View. It’s different from their standard cabins as it is carpeted and has a full kitchen along with a great back yard with a trout stream behind it. We really like this cabin and dealing with Jim and Nita is enjoyable. We also rented a nearly new four door Jeep Wrangler from them and had a great time seeing the views along the back country mountain roads. Our opinion is that the Pleasant View is the best place to stay in Lake City.
We rented a 4-door Rubicon for five days in July. All aspects of the rental went smoothly and the folks at Pleasant View could not have been more helpful or cordial. They are an agent for Cliffhanger and are a much smaller operation than the "other guys". Consequently the pickup and turn in went much faster as there were no lines for either activity.
