(From Website) Completely modern and fully equipped housekeeping cabins include microwaves, queen and twin beds, along with cable television. Knotty pine wood walls and oak cowboy furniture remind us of times gone by. Relax on your own covered porch as you gaze at the pleasant view! It’s almost too much! Your dinner is on the grille.

These cabins were perfect in every way for what we were there to do (ride SXS). They have parking for truck, trailer, and SXS figured out perfectly where they are all right there by your front door, between the cabins, w/o blocking the road. The cabins were spacious, comfortable, and have kitchens with a full size stove, full size fridge, and microwave (along with plenty of dishes and cookware to use). The showers are small stand-up showers but the water pressure was great and plenty hot!

The double bed in our cabin (#6) was sort of like sleeping on the hood of a car. Others in our group (cabins 7, 8, and one bed in #9) mentioned the same sort of experience (maybe not as bad). But my Aunt said one of the beds in #9 was the best bed she's ever slept in. These are all individually owned, but all managed by the people in the office, and maybe the reviews will get to the owners and they'll look into getting better mattresses. But go have a blast in the mountains everyday like we did and you'll sleep anyway! I'd go back to Pleasant View in a heartbeat even with the same bed!

We had 4 cabins in a row and the porches were big enough to hang out on and be all together. They are close enough to feel like your group is all together, but far enough and insulated well enough to feel private if you don't know your neighbor. There is also a small playground with swings, which is right next to a big firepit and picnic tables. The managment is great and you feel like you're renting from a friend! They are just our kind of people! There was also a deer that hung out alot like it was just part of the family.

While we were there we were told that a bear had been coming around lately and attemting to open car doors. So we had to keep all food, trash or packaging out of our vehicles and SXS's. We got bear prints on our truck doors the first night, but thankfully it didn't leave scratches. Each cabin has a trash can in the back and we had to wait until morning to take our trash out and management picked them all up each day. But we got to see the mama bear twice and the cub once! We looked out the windows for them each night as part of our fun. The second time we saw her she was ON our porch right against our front door because a soft drink had spilled on the porch earlier in the day. The only regret of our whole trip is that it surprised us so much that we fumbled with our phones, the curtains, and the lights and didn't get video before she & her teenage-looking cub waddled off.
But we named her Big Fluffy and want to come see her again next year.

So you can bet we're staying at Pleasant View Resort next time we're in Lake City!

This is the 2nd time we stayed here. Last time was 2 years ago and they have sold to the ATV rental company on-site. Jennae is the new manager and she is awesome. The cabins are the same. They are very clean. Each one is the identical to the other and there are 9 of them. 2 bedrooms each, a sitting area, a dining table, full kitchen with sink, fridge, stove, and utensils. Outside each cabin has a charcoal grill. In the evenings we played horseshoes, had dinner on the picnic tables, and sat by the fire. Would definitely recommentd Pleasant View Resort if you are planning to stay in Lake City. And use their on-site RZR rental company called Cliffhanges for new machines and good prices.

check in via Nita was easy, accurate, and quick. all lodging is in cabins that are in a line behind the office and a block off the main road. you park your vehicle beside your cabin which makes unloading and loading very convenient. the cabins are 2 bedrooms with a dining table and a kitchenette and a bathroom with a shower. they are dated but clean and comfortable. we cooked our breakfast and dinner each night. in the evenings after a day of RZR riding, we had cocktails on the deck and also played horseshoes. we rented our RZR's from the resort via Jim who is a bit on the crusty side. if we were to go back to Lake City for riding RZR's in the mountains, this would be our place to stay and rent.

Thank you for your in depth review of your stay with us and glad that you had wonderful time both in a cabin and on the trails on a RZR. Many guests also find relaxing on the porch after a busy day to be quite pleasurable. I will do my best to improve my crusty side for sure. Thank you. Jim

We rented a 4-door Rubicon for five days in July. All aspects of the rental went smoothly and the folks at Pleasant View could not have been more helpful or cordial.

They are an agent for Cliffhanger and are a much smaller operation than the "other guys". Consequently the pickup and turn in went much faster as there were no lines for either activity.

We love staying in the cabins at Pleasant View. For many years there were four couples from out-of-state that met here about every-other year. The cabins are always clean and have everything we need. The owners are great people who are always responsive to any needs. The cabins are quiet during the evening and night. It is not unusual to see deer wandering around the picnic area.

This is our second time to stay at Pleasant View but in a different cabin. They did not disappoint. Staff and cabin were excellent. We stayed in the nightly rental cabins which includes a kitchenette with full size fridge/freezer, microwave, stove and kitchen pots/pans, plates, cups and utensils. It was a 2 br with 1 bath. Even though we cart our own SxS, they have rentals on site including Jeeps. We will stay here again for our next visit to the area.

There is no AC but 2 fans were provided and it is very cool at night with the windows open. I suggest a humidifier for those use to high humidity as the air is very dry. This site allows for OHV use direct to the trails so park your tow vehicle and hop in your SxS or ATV.

Arce S, Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. We believe they do help others to get a "flavor" of what to expect. You may have noticed that we have many returning guests that have also appreciated our cabins and location allowing them direct access to many 4 X4 and hiking trails in the area. Safe travels and we look forward to your return. Jim & Nita

My wife and I stayed for 8 days, in the Ox Yoke #6 cabin. it was wonderful. The cabin looked out over a beautiful lawn and river, with fly fishers and deer. The cabin was basic and clean. Heat and hot water were excellent. Kitchen was good. Fridge was big. We used as a base for hiking, with remote work days interspersed. Internet was reasonable for what we were doing. We walked back and forth to town restaurants, about a mile down the not-very-busy highway. The owners were very friendly and accommodating with our requests. There were ATV/OHVs driving past occasionally, but not often and not at odd hours, and they didn't bother us.
It was our first time to Lake City and we found it very nice. Residents and tourists were very friendly, many tourists from OK/TX and some from CO like ourselves. Food choices were more limited than more "gentrified" towns like Buena Vista, but were fine, especially since we were mixing self-cooking and eating out. Restaurants business was booming the week we were there, so there were some short waits. Lake City is very convenient to several 14er mountains.

We were travelling through Lake City in July and had a problem with our hire car. Luckily we decided to pull in to Pleasant View and ended up staying two nights! The cabin was clean and comfortable in a great location with everything we needed. The staff were really, really helpful in getting our car issues sorted and we couldn’t thank them enough. A great place to stay and would very highly recommend. James and Martin

Jim and Nita were fantastic to work with when our family rented 2 jeeps to drive the Alpine Loop. They were very helpful in mentioning trails that we might like and that our 3 little girls might like to run around and explore! The jeeps were top notch and performed safely as expected. We treated the jeeps as if they were our own and had no trouble on the trails. Our 3 girls hugged and thanked them both at the end of the day because they had had “the best day ever!” We cannot wait to return to Lake City and rent jeeps from Cliffhanger again! Thank you for making the jeep ride the best part of our trip.

Very friendly upfront but when we had a problem with our rental having some damage ( which I was fully responsible for) they asked me to replace the part and I said fine give me the old one since I’m paying for the new one. That apparently is an issue as they wanted to keep renting it out with the damaged part. I said okay if you’re gonna keep renting it with the damaged part then let me split the difference with you and you keep that one. Nope. It’s full price or we will charge you anyway. The husband was very abrasive and not willing to be civil about it but the wife was more understanding. They threatened to charge me for it to sit there waiting for the new part if I took the old one but also said wouldn’t rent it out because of the damaged part. In the end I had to borrow some tools from some very friendly people in town (after being told to pretty much screw off from the gas station/repair shop owner) and I took the part off I had paid for. They should offer more than tire/belt insurance and should try to be a bit more civil and lean more towards customer service if they would like to continue doing business. All in all I would say not to rent from here and choose a place that offers damage insurance instead.
