We stayed there for 6 nights, and had to ask the maid to take out our trash and replace our towels & replenish toiletries. They didn't seem to be bothered with the minute details of their job.
Just a few of the front desk staff was helpful, it seemed like if you checked in to the Clarion side, they paid a bit more attention to you.
The dining staff at the restaurant was extremely helpful. The one night we ate there, there were just two gentlemen working and they did everything with a smile.
At check-in, there was a gentleman that returned to the desk as I was checking, in who complained that the room he had been assigned, was already occupied. This turned out to be a forewarning for my wife and myself, because at 1:45 AM, my wife and I were awakened when an employee tried to enter our room. When I got up to open the door, the woman standing there, said she was very sorry, she was told that room was vacant. This seems to be a trend at this particular hotel.
I have been a member of Choice Hotels for 23 years, and generally, I am very satisfied with the hotels I have stayed at. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
The lobby and check in areas were clean and pleasant. The walk to our room was also pleasant. Then, we opened the door to our room and it was not pleasant at all.
The door security latch fell off. The door frame looked like someone had pried it open. The carpet in the hallway by the door was soaking wet.
The light switch did not control any lights.
The desk had cigarette burns, water stains, bubbles in the finish. The sofa had a big area where apparently there had been a fire.
The door to the bath had blue tape around some of the edges.
No waste basket for the room.
Floor baseboards in the bathroom had either mold or mud in several places.
We wanted to check right back ot.
But we were tired and it was a stormy night. After rolling the mattress and box springs and NOT finding any bed bugs, we decided to gut it out and leave as early as possible the next morning.
Next morning went to take a shower and had to wash away 2 spiders in the tub.
Got dressed and while walking to our car we saw trash, over grown weeds, broken curbs, a basketball hoop laying on it's side. The ugliest view was of two stuffed chairs and a pile of clothes sitting outside of a room.
Holy cow! I enjoy writing good reviews and this is the first negative one since 2007 when we joined Choice Privileges. I've had the urge once or twice before but this hotel needs to be identified for what it is.
Some one from the corporate office needs to jump on a plane and visit this dump. It is an embarrassment to the corporation.
Room was clean bed comfortable and exceptionally quite , other guests also seemed friendly .
I did not try their breakfast as I left at 3AM , but there is a 24hr Waffle House 1 minutes away.
Young man at reception was highly attentive and very friendly. I asked for best route to Salt Lake he recommended a scenic route (good to have local people working with local knowledge) after I left and pulled into get gas I realised I did not have my phone , I called them and they search everywhere including parking lot.
Who could ask for more.
Well done to all .
Entered room with bathroom lights on, couch cushions disrupted, door security latch broken, and odor in the room. Bed looked clean enough to tolerate as we needed rest. Used bathroom only to find blood splatter all over the walls! Left room, went to front desk and said thanks but no thanks (offered another room)! We left without refunded, but received after phone call the next day.
Rooms weren’t clean, and very old and outdated.
Will not advise this hotel!
The morning front desk people were super nice! But Makale does not need to be a manager and certainly doesn’t need be at the front desk!
Don’t stay here!
