Checked in to our Durango Quality Inn room in December 2020. The bed in the room was about 18 inches from the wall. As I walked on that side of the bed to see if there was an outlet (no, there wasn’t), my leg hit a treacherous metal component of the bed frame sticking out two inches at least from the bed frame. It gouged my leg above the ankle and I was wearing socks and jeans! (See pictures below.) There was no way to see it as it was covered by the bed skirt and it was/is a real hazard. No way to see it. (Room101 if you are staying here). The person on that side had to remember to avoid it each and every time they got in or out of bed with not enough space to do so. We informed the hotel clerk the next evening about it and that it had really cut my leg. She informed us that she already knew about it but thought until they could get it fixed it was at least covered by the bed skirt so that it didn’t show. She did not offer to fix it while we were there, nor give us another room, nor offer us anything for our troubles. Nada. Are you kidding me?? I’m not at all impressed and wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

An older hotel that could do with some updating such as new carpet. The room was clean and well equipped with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. King bed was very comfortable. Excellent shower. Check in was quick and efficient. They usually offer a breakfast but instead had done a deal with the cafe across the road for a 20% discount. They have good coffee and breakfast burritos. The hotel is within walking distance of the Animas River Trail.

I emailed the GM to let them know my experience. I never even got a response so I'm sharing my email to save people from staying at this hotel. This is the email I sent to the GM. Good morning,  Just wanted to share my night. Josh was great taking care of me and getting me checked in. Please tell him I enjoyed the social club recomendation. I got to my room at 11:30 and it was so hot. The air conditioning was on high cool but blowing very hot air. I tried to adjust the controls but just had to shut it off. While I was trying to adjust the controls a few bugs started crawling around as well as dead ones on the sink and floor. Knowing the hotel was full and late I just slept w the door open for a couple hours.  I don't think a neg public reviews help much but wanted to let you know.  Its a bit painful to pay $200 for this experience.

There is no breakfast. There is an empty pool with a ripped cover and an inaccessible “sun deck”. The pictures show updated rooms, ours was not updated and had extremely uncomfortable beds. The air conditioner was behind a wall so it barely got to the sleeping area. I do not recommend.

We were traveling by car and had rented a room online the day of, believing we would make it to Durango that evening. At the time we realized we wouldn't make it due to traffic and winding road in the mountains, we called at 6:45 p.m because also of no cell service while traveling in the mountains. We were told cancellation had to be done before 7:00 pm. We did so at 6;45 and 6:55. The manager charged the room anyway.. A hefty $170 for the night. When we arrived in Durango the next morning, we stopped at the hotel. The lobby was very small and outdated with a flowered couch which entertained a "cricket" sitting on the arm. The hotel had outside room entrance and the doors were so old and in needed of updating, that I wouldn't have stayed there anyway due to "not feeling secure" at all. I wrote to the GM, Harry" and he responded that he would give us a room to use in 90 days. Well I wouldn't stay there anyway and I live in Florida so it is obvious I won't be in Colorado in 90 days. Huge disappointment in the hotel and especially customer service.

Room Tip: Don't stay here. At the price, it is less than safe, clean and up-to-date.
