The Rochester was just the place to spend an evening on our first road trip in our all-electric Chevrolet Bolt. Traveling from Salt Lake City to Albuquerque, we needed someplace to stay where we could recharge our EV. The Rochester staff reserved its Level 2 charger so that we were ready to continue our travels the next morning. And when we had difficulty with the charger at first, the hotel's staff were quick to help us figure it out. Add to that a wonderful breakfast, freshly ground coffee in the room and the great character of this 19th century hotel, and you have a great accommodation experience. We will be staying there on our return trip this weekend.
This is a charming hotel in a lovely town. Rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Nice to have some tea and delicious homemade cookies available in the afternoon, and breakfast included some more homemade baked goods and a made to order hot special that changed daily. The hotel is well-located, right in the middle of downtown. Would definitely stay here again!
Every once in a while I like to enjoy Durango for a couple of days. When I do, I stay at the The Leland House - Rochester Hotel. Their cute, immaculate rooms; excellent breakfasts; super-friendly, professional, staff; and the perfect Durango location, walking distance to restaurants, night-life, theater, several excellent bookstores, & phenomenal outdoor recreation opportunities; all add up to the perfect Durango vacation base. I always stay in one of the pet friendly rooms where my dog gets complimentary bowls & bedding. The Leland House - Rochester Hotel is the best!
Very much enjoyed our stay! The staff were welcoming and accommodating. We were upgraded to a room with a separate living area and kitchen. Breakfast was amazing, especially the scones. Would highly recommend staying here when visiting Durango.

The Strater was full they recommended Rochester. At first look Rochester looked like not quite what I wanted but I reviewed it and all reviews were positive. I am so very glad I chose Rochester. It was my favorite place to stay this vacation. The hotel is quaint, full of history, staffed with exceptionally friendly and helpful people and the rooms are clean, comfortable and furnished in vintage Old West. There was a wonderful breakfast each morning, snacks during the day and a bar that you could get drinks from at night. The dining room had games for evenings or late mornings if you chose.
