We stayed 2 nights in this sweet motel It’s a must stay in Durango Had all the amenities you could ever need We were pulling a trailer and they worked easily around parking it .. The owners were super nice people and we will be back
The vintage motel sign does not work so after dark-good luck finding "the worst of durango". Owner, man, very rude, unfriendly and actually nasty. Arrived at night.the whole place was dark, rang bell,he came out and stood behind outside babygate??? Forced to stand outside of babygate,he was inside transacting outside-foolish.The room, very very dusty, dirty carpet, dark, one small window, shower low pressure. Placed food in fridge, woke up to learn fridge was off! Threw all food away-who keeps fridge off? The BED-AWFUL,old, hard SPRING bed! Asked to try 2 rooms, looking for a comfortable bed, owner insisted on going! After the request to try a second room,he got snarky and had attitude. When you have a non chain motel, there is no excuse for not going on Amazon and ordering decent foam it's a world of difference and it's the bed that matters. There is just no excuse for old SPRING mattresses in this day and age. Amazon door delivery mattress in a box. REPLACE THOSE MATTRESSES! Location-all the way at end of town away from 160,nothing around. Owner had no idea the Hot Springs 1 mile away was open, the only real attraction in durango proper. The town is sleazy and there are many non chain very dated nasty old motels which would not be so bad if they could learn the BED matters! OVERPRICED!!!! 92 DOLLARS !Worth maybe $50.…
The Siesta Motel in Durango is a great little motel tucked away on the north side of town. We enjoyed the quality and cleanliness we got for a great price. I suggest you make a stop for rest at this Mom and Pop hotel!
Absolute nightmare coming here, wish someone kept it a secret. We came here on our anniversary trip driving from Colorado to California. We arrived at check in time, tired from a long drive and ready to rest. The owner told me to "come back later" since she was having lunch (at 3pm??) When she finally showed up a half hour later I heard her making fun of me to her husband, right in front of me! When she saw me, instead of apologizing she started arguing with me. Wow, classy! I guess we were *bothering* her with our business. We immediately left that bad place, and found a much better place up the street. If you like to spend your free time staying where the staff begrudgingly take your money, make you wait while they enjoy their lives, and treat you like trash, then by all means stay here. If you like friendly staff and a welcoming experience then avoid this place like the plague!! Fortunately, there are many great places to stay in Durango. I found the cozy Caboose Motel down the street such a better experience. Westin greeted me at the front desk and offered me an easy check-in, a way better rate, and a lovely view of the mountains from the room. Really glad that worked out!…
Sometimes we like to stay at an old style motel when reviews are good. When we arrived at just before dark, I was delighted to see the very cool neon sign!! Friendly covid safe check-in. Our room was small as expected but fine. The only down side was the AC unit which was loud. We were able to adjust the thermostat so it at least didn’t start and stop. We were there for one night and it was fine.
