Overall
Room is nice, same as what is shown in the picture.
However, it needs more cleaning and improvements to be made.

Cleanliness
What is mostly shown in the eye is clean but if you look close enough there are still remnants of dirt. The sofa bed pull out was very dirty and itchy we did not use the pull out instead 1 adult slept on the sofa. When I saw these, i did not dare to look behind the bedside table or under the bed because I know that these wont be clean as well.

Staff
Some receptionists are friendly but most of them are not. The ones that we talked to on the phone sound irritated and bothered when requests are made.

Housekeeping
Request for towel and other amenities which should have been refilled during room clean up takes 30 mins and beyond to arrive.

I requested for pool towels, flats sheet for sofa bed and and adaptor for their kettle. When the housekeeping person arrived, he only brought a flat sheet. When I asked why he did not bring a pool towel, he said there are pool towels available in the poolside. This would have saved me 30mins of waiting if the receptionist has advised me upon request that this was available. Is this lack of knowledge or lack of concern for guests?

Kudos to the housekeeping personnel for getting the adaptor immediately, the receptionist did not cascade our request properly.

2nd incident:
Our car was parked outside, we left something in the car that we needed but it was raining. We went to the receptionist to borrow an umbrella she said that we can borrow one from the security guard before we exit to the parking. When we got there, the security guard said to go to the receptionist for our request.🙄

Food
We cannot charge any food to the room because the receptionist did not ask for security deposit and it makes it a hassle for us during stay to bring your wallet everywhere in the hotel instead of being able to charge food to your room.

Breakfast buffet is okay, we booked the junior suite for 3 adults and 1 child. Only 2 adults has free breakfast, you have to pay 999 for extra head.

Second time to stay here, fortunately we were given rooms in Tower 2 which were better than the room we stayed in before in Tower 1, which was already quite dated. The room in Tower 2 was in the first floor which was big enough for two adults and 2 kids. The bathroom was also new and better than the bathroom in Tower 1. My only concern was the spell of the carpet I think. When you lie down on the beds, you could smell something like dried fish smell? Probably that is why they have a diffuser in the room, but still, you could still smell it. But in spite of that, we enjoyed our staycation for my Dad’s birthday, complete with a slice of cake with greetings. The buffet dinner and breakfast were both very good, lots of choices, and tasted good, too! The staff were friendly and accommodating. Even the pool attendants were nice and friendly to my kids, who enjoyed the big pool and the slide. We still love the Widus Club sandwich! Delicious! Franz Vidallon who handled our reservations was very helpful. Thank you! Widus is trully one of our fave hotels in Clark.

For the November monthend long weekend, we chose Widus for some quick R&R. Understand they have only one of two Clark hotels with operational resort pool and restaurant.

PRO:
1. We were upgraded to a Family Suite so we got to enjoy a room with couch and kitchen with Microwave. Generous space to move around. Thank you very much.

2. Resort pool was very refreshing. Water slide was a fun treat.

3. Casino provided additional entertainment... If that is your thing.

Could be improved:

1. Pillows were too soft. Deflates to almost flat once your head rests on it. Had less than optimal sleep. Hope they can provide other pillow option.

2. Due to pandemic, pool hours were limited from 10am to 6pm so very short time to enjoy. May we suggest to extend at least to 7pm.

3. The hallways were paved with tiles so sounds and footsteps were amplified. Not conducive during sleeping. Understand the hotel will be renovated soon...pls consider carpeted hallways to dampen the noise.

4. Food at Salt Restaurant was served plated style and choices were limited. With the pandemic this is understandable.

In conclusion, Widus afforded us a quick and easy break with functional facilities despite the pandemic. Understated leisure Widus. Recommended.

I stayed at Widus Hotel and Casino last April 26,2021 to May 3,2021, for a hotel quarantined purposes as mandated and required by the Department of Health, Department of Touris and Bureau of Qurantine for all inbound NON-OFW. Went back home to take a safety holiday break.

The reason why I choose Widus Hotel and Casino over the other 5 star hotel is for the stringent safety and security health as well as comfortable and hotel to stay while taking the required health quarantined.

There are so many service lapses that has been delivered, I immediately relayed those small service lapses over their General Manager thru LinkedIn to help out a hotelier in terms of hotel service quality and product delivery.

On the last 2 days of my stay, wherein the results of RT-PCR will be released, results went pretty well and immediately asked the reception supervisor to print 2 copies of the RT-PCR Certificate and BoQ Certificate somehow it was delivered open (with out any professional or nice business envelope, it should have been done or place in a nice secure business envelope. Before opening the main door, seen Bellman or Concierge man over the mirror small hole window reading my personal documents.

Think this is too unprofessional, completely unacceptable

Too many shortcomings and failure of services delivery over the 6 days of hotel quarantined from the eco food lunch box with big hole delivered, to dirty stained underliner bedsheets and lots of hair strands underneath, to cockroaches crawling on carpet as well on desk working cabinet and bath towel that is old, discarded and got holes.

Think staff needs to have proper professional business training, proper hygiene and cleanliness training particularly in this unprecedented challenging time. Safety, Health and Security concern.

In general the 7 days hotel quarantined stay is so frustrating and annoying I shall say.

Seems nowadays hotels are all going down, seems no more quality, no more standards, no more proper delivery of service somehow it should have not be, it should have been more transparent in terms of Covid19 stringent and hygiene restrictions. It's really sad to see what's going on overall especially if you live it in person as a guest, I am also an hotelier by heart, a senior executive management. Weird and so disappointing that the GM didn't reply or else; or have gesture of courtesy call in my room more of personal apology (though the GM message me over LinkedIn) also for those other Heads of the Department concerned no personal response.

I am not complaining but such rectification of those failures, unexpected service lapses, disappointments and shortcomings of service delivery as a “Rediscovered luxury”, particularly in this unprecedented challenging time.

The general review is an extension of helping an hotelier/colleague for further improvement on those small eye for details so it won’t happen again to some future guests.

Let's face it you get what you pay for.
Check in very friendly and straight forward but once your in your room forget it they dont want to know.
Got in the room key card wouldn't switch the lights and power on in the room guy went away to replace 30mins went past nothing while still sitting in a dark hot room Found another guy asked him for help he used his own card and put it on. First guy came back only to find out it had been rectified temporarily.
Stuck in quarantine not allowed to leave the room so was lucky in someone passing that I could ask for help.

The mini fridge in the room did not work only to be told by this guy that it was , when it wasnt. Again NOT being able to leave the room I decided to call reception to ask of someone could replace fridge. 1 hour later still no one answered the call so d2cided to call the other numbers housekeeping, casino and room service NO ONE BOTHERED TO PICK UP THE PHONE .
Widus is advertised as a 4 star hotel honestly I have been to better 2 star hotels in the past with more attentive service.
The worrying thing is that I can leave the room , what would you do in an emergency for example if you slipped in the shower and the staff cant or do not want to answer the phones..

Disgraceful service never again. Should have gone to Marriott for my 3 days stay and not bothered with this dump.

I’m very particular into details specially cleaning services especially during this time of pandemic. It’s an utmost priority. Doesn’t matter the size of the room as long as you have enough space to move around. Carpet is dusty, floor tiles dirty. Bathtub, shower glass walls are dirty. The gross and disgusting part, I can’t believe how they clean the bathroom, goosebumps and yucky... a lots of pubes in the bathroom. I hope the HK pay more attention in detailed cleaning with superior supervision.
After a long hours of flight, literally 19 hours I was exhausted. All I want to have room, take a shower and rest. However, due to unfortunate and no choice situation based on guidelines provided that no room change. Hence, I feel uncomfortable of cleanliness and before I took shower I wipes the surfaces and spray the bathrooms. I decided not to call and bother the reception, I wish I did.
Kapampangan is a well known regarding the sumptuous cuisines that will tempt you to unrestrained indulgence. I know, we are here for quarantine stays which might be limited resources but I hope it’s not the reasons at all that the food quality and food taste, being known are not compromised.
Quite Room, Mattress is comfy and Internet speed is good thought experienced technical problem during the stays...food arrangement on time which I guess all fellows OFW appreciated.
Quite awkward the Ladies Set I wish they Label it Vanity Kit.
Bathrobe and Slipper are not supplied maybe based on OWWA arrangement. But for me those are needed. I’m sure other fellow OFW doesn’t have it with them.

This hotel needs major improvement in terms of cleanliness. The floors going to the rooms need cleaning, so do the elevators.

Room - we availed of the Junior Suite expecting it to be of superior quality. Room is not carpeted which is fine. The curtain rods are just days away from breaking. There is an electric kettle that you can't use since it doesn't have an adapter or a socket that matches it. I had to plug it behind the TV. When you look behind the bathroom sink (which I accidentally did) there were lots of used soap and small toothpaste containers stuck! There is visible stain/mold in the bathtub. There is even no light at the shower area.

When we asked for extra towels from the housekeeping personnel, he literally looked inside the used towel bin to see if there are clean/dry ones! He saw one that is still folded and gave it to my husband. I was at the door and saw the whole thing! I should have gotten his name!

Pool could use some cleaning as there were leaves, flowers and twigs floating around the pool. The water was really cold.

The Salt resto offers limited ala carte menu (lunch and dinner) and some items were unavailable. It was also hot. I don't know if the air-conditioning is broken or they only opened a few since there were only a few tables taken. When we had our breakfast, the receptionist and waiter didn't even lead us to the table. It was a bit fully booked and the table I saw was taken by another person who was just a few steps away from me. So I had to go the waiter and asked to be seated. The eggs, bacon and sausages were good. Other food items were not hot or already dry.

Check-in and check out was fast which is just the upside of our stay.

Widus' staff are A+ (Amazingly cheerful & warm)! Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and well-maintained furniture. Meals vary from day to day and chef must be great for preparing the balanced meals for who knows how many quarantining they serve! Though we were unable to explore, the balcony view gave us the feeling that we were not confined at all. A breathe of fresh air, view of lush greens made our stay quite relaxing at the same time productive for remote worker like me.

I would only suggest dusting off the walls and cleaning the curtains.

Overall, highly recommended and will surely visit again and explore their amenities when things get back to normal.

Overall I really liked this hotel. There was a great ambiance. The front lobby is really nice. Staff is also very nice. Swimming pool is awesome with the slide, which is great for young kids. The SALT weekend buffet was overpriced and not impressive at all considering the price. The breakfast buffet was decent for the price of the inclusions with the room. There was a mix up because I paid for 2 adults and 2 kids, but at check in they said my room only came with 2 adults. They did fix it, but it's something to note because we would have been charged an additional 439PHP per child. We were in an executive room in a separate tower, which is a bit of a walk from parking, so definitely get dropped and picked up at the lobby otherwise you have to bring your luggage to the casino area of the Marriott hotel.

This hotel should have received an overall 4 star with the facilities, BUT we had BLOOD in our bed. It was so disappointing because it was under near the duvet cover and on the bed sheet. So clearly the housekeeping cut corners and chose not change the sheets. It's disappointing discovering this after you have already showered, it's 11PM at night after a long soccer tournament and your kids are so tired.

We had someone come and change it and the guy who came was incredibly fast at fixing it considering he wasn't housekeeping staff.

Decided to stay overnight after an ocular meeting at Angeles Pampanga. Room was clean and bed is super comfortable, good location and great breakfast. Check in requires 1500 incidental fee but refundable upon check out but fast check in was rendered to us also. Staff are courteous and nice very accommodating. Will come back again.
