While this property is not new it is apparent that the owners and management take pride in providing quality services and amenities. The breakfast is worth at least $20/person on its own. Our room was comfortable and clean. My family and I would recommend!

The elegant, tasteful "deluxe" rooms at the Academy Hotel can be really affordable in the winter. Each room comes with a free breakfast buffet! Our room was very quiet, except for the heating/air conditioner unit on the wall below the window, which turned on and off all night and was noisy, (even with good earplugs). When we arrived and called down to the front desk about this, they moved us to the room next door as they said that unit had recently been replaced, but it was the same. However we'd stayed in the room before & don't remember it being a problem. If you're used to household noise (TV, music, kids) it likely won't be a problem (we live out in the countryside where it's very quiet).

Amazing staff and clean facility’s. No complains. Staff was friendly and helpful and cleaning staff cleaned rooms daily and left soap and other towels needed. Would stay again when visiting near Colorado Springs. Only complaint is that the washer and dryer were kinda hidden but that’s not a big deal.

Not a clean hotel, many stains on carpets, many dirty gross spots that just look like they don't thoroughly clean only quickly spot clean, we found hair still in the tub, hair weirdly on the ceiling and all over the chair, lots of repairs needed that seem to be ignored, loud AC unit that doesn't operate correctly, claimed functionality of room TV that didn't work - chromecast, very poor quality or old mattress, stains on the mattress, the mattress felt like it was donated from good will and in desperate need of replacement. We almost canceled, accepted our losses and went elsewhere last minute due to how bad the mattress and cleanliness of the place was. Also weird check in times 4:00 p.m. ? who does check in's that late, and seems no flexibility for early check ins, and no safes in the room to lock up valuables with only the option to either take all your things with you, or use their front desk safe which defeats the purpose of a separate safe per room to protect from break in or bad hotel staff. Restaurant and breakfast were ok. If you want to get some sleep pay a small amount more per day and go elsewhere, this place overcharges for it's level of cleanliness, repairs needed, and mattress quality.

My vacation here was pretty bad. Only plus was the breakfast and location of the hotel. My family spent over $800 for one week only for the pool to be filled with 20 kids the first 2 days of our arrival. The pool was closed the other 5 days we were here. The bathtub drain was clogged, and it would take 30 minutes for it to drain. Another thing is that the wifi is TERRIBLE. I couldn't scroll through Facebook while laying in bed. All it does it sit there and load. To make that worse, they must have some sort of blocker for signal because I couldn't get any signal inside the building. As soon as I stepped outside, I had a full 5G signal. When complaining about the pool being closed looking for compensation, I was told the pool was a "free amenity," but it doesn't say anywhere that it's was "free."" Not even an hour later, the "pool closed" sign that had been up for 5 days was taken down an hour early from when they said it would be "open."
After going back a second time for compensation, the manager finally agreed and gave me 15% off for 4 days the pool was closed. They wouldn’t give me comp for Friday because they opened the pool at 5:30pm after my first visit to their desk. Too bad I had to leave for a flight at 6am and didn’t get to experience the pool Friday night anyways. **insert eyeroll**

Side note: The restaurant that is in the building is so expensive. Be ready to spend $30 a person. Your best bet is to go somewhere else.

I love, love, love this hotel it's where we stay when me and my family come into town!! It's a lot nicer than most of the hotels around yet it was the cheapest and most convenient hotel when I was browsing around so I was super shocked about that! My family and I really enjoyed our stay, thank you!

Stayed in a mountain view room (2 Queen beds, no pets room, upper floor) for 2 nights. The room (#455) was located on the highest (4th) floor and had an awesome view (unobstructed) - see photo. If you don't mind a bit of a walk to the elevator (we didn't), request this room if you can. Also, you can walk down the stairs, just outside the room, to get to the back rear lot. Room itself was spacious and clean, mattresses comfortable and linens soft. The bathroom is pretty updated with good-working shower. Very narrow closet for clothes, but plenty of room in the dresser drawers. Housekeeping skipped our room one of the two nights, and then said we left a "DND" (Do Not Disturb) sign on door, which we did not. The hotel lobby is lively with a lounge area with gas fireplace. There is also a pool, which we didn't use, but many families with children were enjoying. The buffet breakfast is very unappealing if you like healthy, unprocessed foods. A sign by the egg station read "liquid eggs." Overall, would highly recommend.

We have stayed at the Academy hotel, many times and have always had a pleasant visit. I love the fact that they have pet friendly rooms and they are always very clean. They have had some upgrades in the past and I really think they need to look into upgrading, their heating and cooling units in each room. Unfortunately ours was extremely loud last night. Neither hubby myself or the pup got much rest. The little tiny refrigerator also kept kicking on and off with a steady knock knock sound. Both of these were extremely distracting and annoying. The breakfast buffets have always been a treat but again unfortunately this morning was quite sad. The “egg lady” left before the buffet closed. We went at nine and there was not any bacon nor eggs. It’s just something we’ve enjoyed in the past and I know things change, but the nightly fee has gone up considerably so I would think they would still be able to serve bacon and eggs in their buffet. We will probably stay here again in the future because it’s a convenient stop for us. Hopefully they’ll make some more upgrades.

This is a great hotel! We stayed here for 4 nights. The breakfast alone is worth staying here. It's not your typical Continental stale breakfast. They offer a full breakfast with the price of the room which not only includes fresh and plentiful eggs, meats and waffles but they also have a custom made on demand omelette table. Everything was seriously good and would be a $15+ breakfast at any other hotel. The lobby is lovely as well. . The room was clean and updated. The staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful. I'd recco a direct booking as the price was in fact cheaper than booking websites.

Sadly the cleanliness and overall condition at this hotel is appalling.
Handles falling off furniture in room.
Furniture extremely worn and showing its age. Dust everywhere which kept making me sneeze.
Window would hardly open due to filthy runners.
Window blind was torn, taped up and filthy.
Room service was hit and miss with coffee not being replaced among other things. Fridge was rusty and freezing everything in it. No in room safe.
Bathroom basin was loose and leaking. Whilst in the shower the awful curtain gave the impression that we were in some Halloween side show. Bath filler had been disconnected so you could only fill the bath from the shower! Illuminated vanity mirror was disconnected and no longer working.
Breakfast was not good with child size plastic cutlery and paper plates.
No proper cereal dispensers, just Tupperware tubs which were dirty with sticky finger prints all over them. Cereal had to go in small ice cream tubs as no bowls. Very poor lighting in the breakfast area and was right next to pool which was noisy.
Outside by the hotel entrance you are greeted by un-maintained engineering on the roof which sounded like a chinook helicopter flying past. The general condition of the hotel is terrible. All the ice machines we saw seemed to be out of order. On the plus side the staff were friendly but you need more than that. In general the hotel was not as good as it’s portrayed in promotional corporate Hotel information. It is in urgent need of full refurbishment or as a quick fix, demolition!

Good Morning, honestly it is very hard to hear the cadets in their training airplanes in our location. The only time is for graduation with the Thunderbirds during ceremony.

Yes, you may pay for a non guest to have breakfast. It is really a good breakfast--some buffet, some made to order.
