The Mining Exchange Hotel is celebrated for its central location and unique, stylish rooms, with the high-quality amenities—like posh linens and spacious bathrooms—often receiving praise. Guests are charmed by the lively and elegant atmosphere, though some have mentioned the lack of in-room coffee and a pool.
While the cleanliness and professional staff add to the positive experience, travelers advise that street noise can be an issue and caution that parking and breakfast costs may add up.

My mom and I came down for a girls weekend and it couldn't have been better! Jill at the front desk was above and beyond amazing. She started us off giving us a couple little freebies that made us feel so welcome. Then when we found a couple minor damages to our room she immediately got us another, meeting us up on the floor so we could gather our things then showed us to our new one and made sure everything in the room was perfect. Her attention to our stay was again above and beyond making our weekend truly amazing. Not even in the slightest as well was the spa, without a doubt a phenomenal gem that is so worth the visit! Serenity, Ashlee, Ben and i think Destiny (sorry unsure that's right) were outstanding! Renovated bar/ lounge made an excellent cap to the night! All service incredible! Definitely a must stop!

The hotel offers a unique, upscale and modern boutique experience in a historic and well maintained building. The lobby is bright and welcoming with a contemporary lounge, coffee bar with food options, and two hip bars, one inside and another outside, that serve alcohol. The staff was very attentive, friendly and professional. The rooms were clean and minimalist in design, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Although the hotel was in a perfect location within walking distance to multiple restaurants, the street noise, even from the 5th floor, was loud throughout the night. The bathroom layout was spacious, but not especially user-friendly. The sink area had no countertop space, shelves, or towel racks. Public parking one block away was the best and most affordable option.

My husband and I stayed at The Mining Exchange for two nights recently as part of a side trip to Colorado Springs. We both thought it was great. The staff were all warm and welcoming. Jill, who checked us in, obviously is passionate about the history of the hotel. She gave us a personal tour of some of the highlights and helped bring the past to life. Our room was very small, but clean, and we loved the decor. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the only noise we heard was some doors closing in the mornings. We had two very different experiences with the bar and restaurant. The first night, service was very haphazard and slow, although the food (particularly the steak sliders!) was excellent. The second night, service was perfect, and we really enjoyed chatting with Evan the bartender - he also made a great cocktail. We also had one breakfast, and again, the food did not disappoint. We didn't get a chance to explore downtown, but we were just a short drive away from highlights such as Garden of the Gods. We didn't use the valet parking ($40/night), but had no trouble finding street parking close by, and were able to pay the meters via an app - and street parking is free 10 pm - 7 am. Given the overall level of service and hospitality we enjoyed, we thought the price was great, too. We would definitely recommend The Mining Exchange if you're visiting Colorado Springs.

The building is excellent with modern elements. Convenient downtown access. There is an onsite restaurant, but it was under construction, so we did not eat there. The kitchen is open, and the bar had an adequate menu so that satisfied in a casual way. Our room and bed were excellent but was not a double sink option in the bathroom. We did not see an in-room coffee option in our King Jr Suite which was not good for us. The lobby breakfast & coffee bar was very nice, but we were in a hurry and could not try it. This was a hotel recommended by my sibling and all of our family stayed there with 100% satisfaction. *** The hotel is dog friendly and that is a plus for many - including one of my family members. I will recommend this hotel for others however I would encourage a third-party booker so the best price can be found, and I would share with others the garage is off property. Your car is only in a secure area if you pay the $55 for valet parking and are willing to wait for a good while to get it. The morning we checked out there was only 1 valet working and despite his very best effort it was just a slow process that backed up with so many departing guests. I will add that I had to make room adjustments by phone before arriving and the supervisor of hte front desk was VERY VERY helpful (Mitchell?). I am glad the hotel was recommended and would absolutely stay there again.

Dear mary L, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of the modern elements in our building, convenient downtown access, and the overall quality of your room and bed. We're pleased to know that our dog-friendly policy was a benefit for your family member. Regarding the parking situation, we understand that the off-property garage and valet parking fees can be a factor. We'll explore options to improve the parking experience for our guests, such as increasing the number of valet staff during peak check-in and check-out times. Thank you for your kind words about Mitchell and his helpfulness. We're committed to providing excellent customer service, and we're glad that you had a positive experience. We appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

Where to even begin! This hotel is everything you could ever ask for and more. From the moment you walk in you are immediately greeted by the warm front desk staff. I want to take a moment to give an extra special shout out to Rueben who was probably one of the nicest hotel staff members i’ve ever experienced in my time travelling.
Not only is the hotel exquisitely decorated with the perfect mix of classy and cozy, but then you get into the rooms and it’s out of this world.
They are basically mini condo’s with a full foyer, a giant bathroom, stunning showers, plenty of natural light and comfortable pillows (which is such a rarity in hotels.)
One con is that there is no breakfast included or voucher for the coffee shop. The cost of a simple breakfast and coffee exceeded almost 20 dollars USD (31 dollars CAD) which I felt was a bit exuberant.
Blk Mgk was a great little coffee shop. The staff were lovely and incredibly friendly. My only gripe is that their prices are a little wild. For a smoothie and an espresso it came to around 18 USD (about 27 CAD) which is kind of insane. I get it’s a hotel, but no one should be paying 4+ dollars USD (7+ dollars CAD) for an espresso. The espresso was very sour, like really sour. I was hoping it was a one off but the next day was the same. if I could offer any advice as an espresso fanatic, you may need to dial in your shots and ensure they’re not being under/over extracted. I tried it 2 days in a row and then on the 3rd day switched to a drip coffee because of the taste. (I felt bad because the staff were so nice they remembered me and he started pulling my espresso shot for me already!) Putting the prices and sour espresso aside, the entire experience was pleasant and really enjoyable. The overall vibe of the hotel and Blk Mgk is really cool and chic. It’s a place you want to spend your time relaxing after a long day.
At the end of the day, the experience was still phenomenal and this is easily one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. So many restaurant options nearby, great rooms, incredible staff (thanks again, Rueben!) I would purposefully travel back to Colorado Springs for business or pleasure specifically to stay here.
Bravo Mining Exchange, other hotels should definitely take notes!
-A very impressed Canadian traveller 😊

The Mining Exchange in downtown Colorado Springs offers a unique and memorable experience for travelers. Having stayed for five nights during a business trip, I was impressed by the hotel's meticulous renovation and decoration. Each detail contributes to its dreamy ambiance. The guest service was consistently excellent, from check-in through to room turnover. The bed provided exceptional comfort, ensuring a warm and toasty stay even during the chilly January weather.
The hotel features a coffee shop and a well-equipped gym, meeting all my needs. Its prime location allows easy access to numerous restaurants and shops within walking distance. However, with its diverse dining options, there's plenty to explore without leaving the premises. The aesthetic appeal of the hotel, from the tiles to the wallpaper, adds to its charm, and the staircase art gallery is a standout attraction.
During a future visit, I would certainly consider a spa treatment and the crystal concierge, as these additional amenities enhance the hotel's allure. Overall, The Mining Exchange is a delightful hotel with many thoughtful details, making it a true gem in downtown Colorado Springs.

I've stayed at this hotel several times in the past few months. This is a great spot! The renovation of this historic site is gorgeous. The staff are helpful and go the extra mile every time. There are often deals on rooms, and the coffee bar in the lobby, Blk Mgk, makes great small eats and even better coffee. They switch up some of their offerings by season. Most recently, there was an issue with my room, and as we were switching up the room, the front desk staff, Jill, absolutely went above and beyond to make sure I felt taken care of and everything went perfectly. The valet staff are always kind, quick to grab cars, and welcoming. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants time in downtown COS and a bit of class.

This hotel has so many great things going on. We had a King room on the fourth floor for 3 nights in late May. The bathroom was great, with a large shower, great water pressure, and plenty of room, a separate toilet area with a door. The sitting area had a chaise lounge, chair, and TV, a comfy and nice place to relax. The bedroom had a desk and chair along with the king bed. The bed was a little soft for us but completely comfortable. The ONLY drawback to this room was that the curtains in the bedroom did not close completely, and it let in a ton of light; we managed to find a way to shut it out, but not completely. The lobby area has such an elegant feel, with lots of sitting areas to enjoy your morning coffee (we did not use the coffee area) or a drink in the evening with the beautiful bar area. We did sit in the bar one evening, but the drinks were a bit too fancy for our liking. I would 100% recommend this place and would absolutely go back again.

Every person I encountered, from the front desk to the gentleman at the front doors went above and beyond to be courteous and helpful. On top of the fantastic aesthetic features of the hotel, the staff absolutely made the stay impeccable. I needed an iron, and it was as easy as sending a quick text and they had housekeeping bring an iron and ironing board to my room before I even returned. When we checked in, the girl at the front desk didn't simply point in the direction of the elevators, she walked us to them. The staff was eager to offer local recommendations and make a genuine connection and impact. Additionally, the rooms are gorgeous! I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back.

The hotel has a Valet service, as well as a parking garage about a block down from the hotel. I believe the renovations were mostly on the rooms on the Third Floor, but may have been on additional places in the hotel.
We can place a mini refrigerator in your room upon request. Please call the Front Desk prior to arrival and they will have housekeeping place the mini-fridge. The Front Desk number is 719-323-2000
