Nestled in a prime location, The Antlers, A Wyndham Hotel, is often celebrated for its proximity to downtown attractions and its lively, charming character. While the hotel's cleanliness and service receive accolades for being well-maintained and exceptionally attentive, some guests have expressed concerns about the property's upkeep and decor, suggesting that the rooms and amenities could benefit from modernization. Although the comfortable beds and bar atmosphere are popular among visitors, there are critiques regarding the perceived value, with several travelers feeling that the experience does not justify the price point, especially when faced with outdated amenities and unexpected charges.

This is a beautiful property at a great price. My partner and I stayed for one night at Christmastime because we were attending a Christmas party in Co Springs and didn't want to drive home after. Everyone was super friendly and the breakfast buffet was delicious. I stayed again a couple weeks later on Christmas Eve with my mother. We had stayed at the Broadmoor the night before and went to their Christmas show on the 24th but I wasn't willing to drop another $500+ for a second night at the Broadmoor. The Antlers was running a holiday special for $129 including self-parking, totaling $145 with taxes and fees. Way more palatable. I visited the gym Christmas morning--everything you need for a great workout and spacious. We went down for breakfast but there was no buffet available so we ordered off the menu. Also excellent. My breakfast burrito was enough for three. Strangely, there were very few guests there for either of our stays. I don't know why, because the location is great whether you want to have a nice dinner in downtown Co Springs, visit attractions, or stop on your way to a further destination. It's right off the highway and a short walk to a bunch of restaurants. The mountain views are beautiful too.

We stayed here for two nights and rented a upgraded king suite with absolute gorgeous views of the mountains. The fact that this hotel was rebuilt in 1967 is quite evident from the furniture that is in the rooms which possibly dates to 1972. I have honestly found better couches at garage sales.

They have done a good job of renovating the bathrooms and the shower was the most comfortable that we had on this trip. The rest of the furnishings in the room were outdated and remind me of scenes from 1970s movies.

The bed was comfortable with good linens and since we were at the end of the hallway we did not notice the noise. However as we walk through the hallway we could hear practically every conversation and deep breath that was being taken in all the other rooms.

The noise complaints that are written about this hotel definitely hold true. Additionally there is a $17 charge for parking in a poorly lit and difficult to navigate garage. We were told that the breakfast buffet is closed because of staffing issues. The evening dinner options consisted of ordering pizza or pasta at the bar and having it sent over from an adjacent business. There is a nice brewery across the street with decent food and Nice atmosphere.

A lot has happened in this hotel and there’s a significant history. If you insist on staying here I would not stay in a room on the 13th floor or the 10th floor. If you’re curious as to why simply Google, “deaths at the antler Hotel“.

If you’re a ghost hunter then you will love this hotel. If you’re expecting this hotel to be a luxury hotel then you should look elsewhere. The lobby is well adorned and the staff were all incredibly nice and answered all of our questions and were very helpful.

All of that said this is not a place that we will return to.

A hotel this size there is an expectation of better furnishings, better food options, and updated soundproofing

Our family stayed at The Antlers (rooms 410, 412 and 414) over Labor Day weekend to enjoy Parents Weekend at the USAFA. Paul hosted us at breakfast three consecutive days, and he was extraordinary with our large group: provided us with a perfect location; attentive, not intrusive; positive and efficiently responsive; the best customer service I can recall from the past few years. Paul is a credit to your hotel and you are very fortunate to have him. I'd like to hire him to work with me. That exceptional. --Dr. Thompson

The entrance looked nicely decorated and the bar area looked nice (didn’t go) but the rooms were very outdated and not quiet from outside or inside noises at all. I could expect that from an old hotel but the worst thing was we had no shower curtain which seemed odd for the narrow tub but then come to find zero hot water. Like ice cold and it never heated up. We told the front desk and they didn’t care at all, just said they would send a maintenance person and went back to their conversation but nobody showed before we had to check out so we couldn’t shower. Absolutely unacceptable. Then icing on the cake is the parking garage is already a labyrinth but their ticket validation process doesn’t work and you have to talk to someone for several minutes on the intercom answering a bunch of questions to get out, I’m assuming the help desk isn’t local by the fact they didn’t know the name of the hotel. There are much better hotels in the vicinity with similar prices and I guarantee you can shower at them.

838kurtm, Thank you for the review of our hotel. I am deeply sorry in the fact that there was no hot water for your stay. I will be sure to personally check out the room to make sure another guest is not affected by this. You have my additional apologies on the confusion with the parking garage, we try to mark the way to and from the hotel as clearly as possible. I am sorry we were not able to fill expectations, as it seems we came up short.

Checked in in the evening after arriving to town and made mention to the front desk agent about wanting a bathtub for my wife to enjoy before some medical procedures we were in town for. The agent was extremely helpful in her description of the room and so we were happy on getting checked in and into the room. The tub was standard sized which isn't ideal for a tall person, but normal for hotels.

The hot water being out was not normal and even less than ideal. Upon inquiring at the front desk, we were informed it was a known issue since before our arrival and no expected fix was given. We went out to dinner across the street at a brewery (highly recommend), and upon our return ordered some extra pillows and a luggage rack. 20 minutes went by and we received a call from the front desk saying that "my wife had refused the additional items when delivered"... which considering nobody had knocked was not true. Another 10 minutes went by and the security delivered the items to the right room. When asked about the hot water, he too reitterated that the hot water had been out for awhile and he wasn't sure when it would be fixed and "the room was completely flooded".

My wife unfortunately was unable to take a bath through our entire stay afterwards because of the procedure, and so it was something that she was extremely disappointed about. She just wanted to soak and relax before going through the invasive process and was unable to do so.

When I took a shower, I also noticed that the vent above the shower was dripping with, what I hope was dust and not insulation, and so you had to stand on oneside or the other of it to avoid it dropping onto you while you showered.

Other than that, the floors were clean, housekeeping was efficient, and the location was decent for a stay in town for a few days.

The only other comment would be about the lobby bar, watching the staff arrive at 3pm, but refuse to serve until 5pm despite standing around and gossipping with other staff members that entire time. It's not hard to serve a beer to guest, and I watched as the two staff members that set up the bar, turned away multiple customers and told them to go down the hall to the Italian place that wasn't making pizzas.

Wouldn't have a problem staying at this historic hotel again, but I also would look around at other locations in town before doing so.

DaKoiPhoto, thank you for the detailed review of your stay. It seems to me we failed in many areas of your stay and I hope that you will accept my apologies. The Historic Antlers strives to give the best service possible for all of our guests and it sounds like we slipped up on some mechanical issues as well as some service failures. I will be sure to address both, and I hope that you will reach out to me personally should you ever decide to stay with us again. Safe travels in the future.

Beautiful views, but frustrating visit. Bath faucet water was brown at first, eventually ran clear but gross. Restaurants were closed or limited availability, with no communication about that issue. Checked out the final morning, but front desk (who told me I was checked out and would get an email when I asked for a receipt) never checked me out, tacked on an additional 4 nights and a $1200 charge. However, when I called on Tuesday after noticing the charge, the person who helped (who was different than Sunday morning) was great at fixing the problem. I do appreciate that they promptly fixed the issue/reservation.

The staff was pleasant, but we had a lot of issues with the room we were given. For almost $200 a night, one would expect a lot nicer room. The room was in grave disrepair, paint pealing off the bathroom door, shower floor surface was pealing as well, no tub in the bathroom and the shower was very small. There were exposed wires coming down the bedroom wall from the TV to the outlets, with no attempt to hide them. Furniture was outdated and worn. Most hotels we have visited supply a magnified makeup mirror in their rooms, but this was not the case at Antlers. When I asked, I discovered they didn’t even have one we could have added to the room. I would recommend the hotel use room 1226 as a storage room and never rent it out again.

The Antlers used to be a very desirable location in Colorado Springs. I suspect that time and tastes resulted in a very average experience during a recent 3-day stay. Front desk clerks were friendly but not attentive. When I came up to validate my parking pass, I would not even get a smile and a good morning (any Marriot customer would get a greeting).

There are no good eating options at the hotel. Breakfast was either a $20 buffet or you're out of luck. Evening meals were in pizza restaurant with a small number of other options. (Colorado Springs has some good restaurants nearby, but I would expect the Antlers to have a better option than they did.)

Our room on the 6th floor was clean and nicely appointed by our "Mountain View" room had dirty windows. The bathroom, while clean, is dated and the caulking around the shower looked like it was done by a junior high school student. (You can get good instructions in any number of YouTube videos). The carpet in the room was puckering up in spots as well.

Nothing bad stood out, but neither did anything good.

I never write reviews but felt compelled to do so because of the horrible experience my family and I had at The Antlers last week. The service was terrible. We asked them for early check in and they made us wait 5 hours before going in because of housekeeping. While we waited in the lobby, they refused to give us a key to swim at the pool while we waited or to play in the free arcade. They also claimed not to have a remote to the lobby tv's to change the channel. When we finally spoke to another hotel representative, they brought us up to the pool/arcade area with a key but only after asking several times.

Housekeeping didn't empty our trashcans when they cleaned the room and the products they used left a horrible smell in the hallways and room. The hotel was dusty and outdated. Our pullout couch was falling apart with two springs completely broken. After calling housekeeping two times and waiting over an hour for replacement sheets for the pullout bed (because the ones provided were dirty), we finally had to go downstairs at 9pm to request them in person.

After that, the front desk never answered our calls again.

The staff was rude and unhelpful and the hotel was nightmare. Do not stay there if you value cleanliness and good service.

Thank you for your question. If you are looking for a mountain view the most exceptional view is from our Founder's Suite 1321, which includes a balcony, whirlpool and plenty of space for gathering. This can be a bit on the pricier side, so another group option is any of our executive suites which include wrap around northwest or southwest facing windows. I personally like the rooms on high floors ending with '01 (ie. 801 or 1001); but other rooms on high floors ending in '27 will give you a great view of Cheyenne Mountain.

Thank you for reaching out. We are still in the process of replacing the hot tub. We have removed this amenity from all sites we have control to make changes at a property level. Additionally we have requested Trip Advisor remove this amenity in September when we realized the severity of the damage and are hoping they will complete this soon.

There are grassy areas in front of the hotel. Lots of sketchy people in the park behind the hotel that made me uncomfortable. It's okay to walk 1-2 blocks to the restaurant area. Lots of people walking with dogs.
