Very welcoming and friendly staff! From the front desk to the cleaning crews, everyone is very kind and sincere about insuring you have the best stay possible.
Clean well kept lobby and rooms with an assortment of food and drinks readily available in the lobby.
Dog friendly and welcoming, they use paw sensitive de-icer in the parking lots/walk ways with dog bowls and treats upon request.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone for a short day or a long extended stay.
Thank you to all the SCP staff and members that keep this place going!

This weekend my family and I enjoyed staying at the SCP Hotel for my wife's birthday. The hotel offered a central location for many of the area attractions in Colorado Springs and the surrounding towns.
When we arrived, David, the front desk manager, was busy helping another guest. A member of the cleaning crew stepped in to greet us without missing a beat.
The vibe of the hotel is very welcoming. The lobby has games, a fireplace, and a large TV for groups to gather. David noticed me showing my daughter a few things on the community guitar. After serving us complimentary welcome brews from the hotel bar, he walked over with a second guitar for her to play. The diligence and attention he provided my family and me the first night sold me on the hotel and its concept.
The rooms are minimalistic by design. Yet, if there is anything you need or desire, the hotel staff is glad to bring it to your room—traditional things such as coffee-makers or ironing items. Not having these items in every room reduces germs and makes cleaning more efficient. SCP also offers unique items humidifiers, Himalayan Salt Lamps, Essential Oil Diffusers, Yoga Mats, and more.
The hotel market offers freely available coffee and teas. Additionally, there is a variety of food and beverages for purchase. SCP also provides unique FAIR TRADE PRICING on its goods. If your stay or any item in the market is priced too high, ask a staff member for help. They are empowered to make it right.
I've experienced lip service related to empowerment at other places. However, we experienced it in action at SCP. There was a missing market credit on our account. When we asked the morning staff for assistance, They didn't hesitate to make it right. There was no need to consult with anyone; they took care of it instantly. That was refreshing.
The downstairs includes a state of the art gym with Peleton bikes and a yoga studio. Throughout the main level, there are many collaborative and private workspaces.
I look forward to future stays at SCP.

The SCP Hotel is a true gem—an oasis that strikes the perfect balance between comfort, sustainability, and stellar service. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the welcoming vibe of this place. The eco-friendly touches, thoughtful design, and serene atmosphere instantly made me feel at home. While I can only give a 4.9-star rating due to a minor inconvenience with my initial room, the way the team handled the situation showed me why this hotel deserves every bit of its glowing reputation.
The General Manager, Justin, is an absolute rockstar. When I brought up the issue with my room, he addressed it immediately, ensuring my stay remained seamless and enjoyable. His genuine care and professionalism left a lasting impression on me. It’s rare to encounter such proactive leadership in hospitality, and Justin truly sets the bar high.
Special shoutout to Kacie, the incredible woman who checked me in. She is an absolute superstar! From handling multiple responsibilities with grace to answering my questions with patience and a smile, she clearly goes above and beyond for guests. I was amazed by her ability to juggle so many tasks while maintaining a positive attitude. Honestly, if anyone deserves a raise, it’s Kacie. She’s a true asset to the SCP team, and her warmth set the tone for my entire stay.
Beyond the excellent staff, the SCP Hotel itself is a marvel. My second room was immaculate, with cozy, modern furnishings and thoughtful amenities. The commitment to sustainability is evident in every detail, from the eco-friendly toiletries to the way the property operates with minimal environmental impact. It’s refreshing to stay at a hotel that genuinely cares about both its guests and the planet.
The amenities were another highlight. The fitness room was well-equipped, and the common areas were perfect for relaxation or getting a bit of work done. I especially loved the complimentary coffee bar with its locally sourced brews—such a delightful touch! The overall vibe of the hotel is laid-back yet upscale, making it ideal for anyone looking to unwind while still feeling pampered.
In short, the SCP Hotel offers an exceptional experience with a team that truly cares about its guests. While my initial room issue could have soured my stay, the swift and thoughtful resolution turned it into a minor blip in an otherwise perfect visit. If you’re looking for a hotel that values hospitality, sustainability, and comfort, look no further. I’ll definitely be back—and next time, it’s a full 5 stars for me!

We stayed at the SCP Colorado Springs for 5 nights and all in all had a good time here. However, it must be said up front that it definitely does not do justice to its website, especially the photos are really well done, they know how to put things in the spotlight, the reality is a bit more sober. My thoughts on this in detail:
Negatives:
-We think everything is implemented half-heartedly, you can see in every corner that something old and rancid was bought cheaply and only renovated far too poorly. The building is a classic motel, long and two-story, sometimes parking right in front of the room door, although we stayed in the second building and didn't have the room door from the outside but via a normal "hotel hallway" (we liked that!). This hallway smells extremely musty, it must be the filthy carpet, which definitely hasn't been replaced for decades. The windows in the rooms are also ancient! The rooms, however, are freshly painted and newly furnished, so you still feel comfortable, see below.
-they didn't use the right material for the new showers, the wetness makes them look unsightly, that's a false economy
-there was a large, unsightly blob of chewing gum or toothpaste on our ironing board, which was in the bathroom
-room service is only available by prior arrangement, but we only found out when we left because the note informing us of this had disappeared from the desk under our things, so we had no room service for six days, no towel change, luckily there were two very large trash cans
-you really shouldn't drop anything under the bed, then you'll see that it hasn't been cleaned for a long time, although on the surface everything else seemed fine
-we had to pay a resort fee even though it was included in the booking through TUI, now we're getting the money back from TUI, but it's annoying and time-consuming and really bothered us, because we didn't use most of the services included in the fee on the hotel website, and the ones we did use are included in the price at every other hotel Room price included... But because it's not my style to be rude or ask for a manager, we paid the amount first. But it wasn't a nice arrival!
Positives:
-very good free self-service coffee in the lobby
-our room was very large and the window could be slid open (we don't like air con)
-very large double beds
-we loved the laminate flooring because it's more hygienic than an old carpet
Conclusion: We were only moderately impressed with the hotel, but can definitely recommend it for a few nights because it's cheaper than other hotels in Colorado Springs.

My wife and I have stayed at SCP every year to beak up our trip from Missouri to our property in the Mountains. The cost was always very competitive/ inexpensive and I felt like I got what I paid for. That has changed!!! The reservation rate was $267/ night which I thought was either a mistake or they had done some serious upgrading. Upon check in the receptionist was a bit surprised at what I had paid asking if that was for multiple nights. I inquired what the rate would be if I was a walk up for the night for the same room and was informed the rate would be $231. Then I learned that rate didn’t even get me a ground floor and I was sent to the “back rooms” which I didn’t even knew existed. It definitely felt a bit sketchy with only 3-4 cars on that side of the hotel and security lights that flickered on and off with unpredictable frequency. Our room was dirty with crumbs on the floor and it was sticky. ( see attached photo of my wife’s feet after walking from the sink to the bed after showering.) The a/c was set on 65 and never got below 75. The door insulation was hanging off the door and the TV wiring and connection boxes were hanging down on the wall. Being tired after a long days journey and my wife filling with it saying it was a $267 campsite we went to bed laughing at this place. After complaining I was offered a $20 credit for purchases in the food shop. Needless to say I will not be staying at SCP again. I’ll be surprised if it even remains open. . It's less than a joke.

I have never seen so many tattoos and colored hair in one place before. Positives: Beautiful pristine linens, comfortable bed, great pillows. A fitness center that would make any CrossFit owner proud! Pool was great! Love the flower wall at the entrance and the greenery on the wall in the common room. Great common room/lobby with tables, couches, games, big screen tv, etc. I do very much admire the fact that they are rehabbing an old hotel. The exterior walkways and exterior room doors do exude "faded lady" vibes . Negatives: They have a ton of staff and yet check in is only 4:00 and even at 4:00 they were not ready for us. That was a real downer. They should be ready for check in at 3:00. And the "market"... I'm not willing to pay $8 for a cup of instant organic oatmeal. Overall you will pay 20% more here than in a hotel in Old Colorado City for the privilege of the dog friendly policy, larger bathroom, lobby, pool, and gym. You will have to decide if those items are worth a 20% mark up to you. Management: Please put no slip grips in the bathtub. That is one scary slippery tub!! And the sidewalk in the pass through needs to be swept and power washed. Keep up the good work.

We were really excited to stay in this hotel as it was the final hotel on our trip and we were ready to relax by the pool, however, it was an awful experience to stay at this hotel. We never normally review hotels, yet we had to make people aware before they chose this hotel. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone due to the following reasons:
Negatives:
- EXTREMELY thin walls and doors adjoining both neighbouring hotel rooms, which resulted in us being woken up at 2am, 4am and 7:30am due to people talking, taking showers etc. There was a 2cm gap at the bottom of the doors! - The swimming pool was closed for cleaning the whole time we were there, and no notice was given to us - Low shower head which made it awkward to shower as we had to bend to wash our hair - Dirty bath when we arrived - Two unprofessional members of staff when speaking to one at breakfast, and also overhearing one have a conversation with another member of staff which happened right in front of me at check-in - Very limited options at breakfast, unless you paid for items separately
The only positive was that the bed was large and comfortable.
It is such a shame that we wasted our money. We hope that we have shed light on the reality of staying at this hotel.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. I am truly sorry to hear about the disappointing experience you had during your stay. We understand how frustrating it must have been, especially as this was the final stop on your trip and you were looking forward to relaxing. I apologize for the noise disturbances due to the thin walls and the gap under the doors, which interrupted your sleep. This is certainly not the restful experience we want for our guests. I also apologize for the inconvenience caused by the pool being closed without prior notice, the low showerhead, and the cleanliness issues in your bathroom. These are not the standards we strive to uphold, and I assure you that your comments will be addressed with our team to prevent such occurrences in the future. Regarding the limited breakfast options and the interactions you had with our staff, I'm sorry that this added to your dissatisfaction. Your feedback about the professionalism of our team members is important, and we will ensure additional training is provided to improve our service. While I'm glad to hear you found the bed comfortable, I regret that this was the only positive aspect of your stay. We value your feedback and are committed to making the necessary improvements. I hope you might consider giving us another chance in the future to provide the relaxing experience you were looking for. Thank you again for bringing these issues to our attention. With gratitude,

I rely heavily on Trip Advisor reviews when booking hotels and usually find them quite accurate. Unfortunately I feel this hotel is highly overrated. It is in desperate need of some TLC. I started in a room with no switch by the door to turn on a light. Wouldn't have wanted to arrive after dark! The bed was way to soft and the room was really shabby. Then I got locked inside due to a malfunctioning lock, causing me great stress until they were finally able to get me out. To his credit the manager was very apologetic and upgraded me to a different room. It was considerably better but very spartan. The lighting was poor, with the main light just a bare bulb on the wall. There was no window or exhaust fan in the bathroom. The soap and creme rinse in the shower we're not refilled and ran out. There were no cups of any kind in the room so I had to get one at the desk downstairs. If there was housekeeping service I saw no evidence of it. My room wasn't fully prepared for arrival and wasn't touched during my stay. The elevator was broken. On the bright side, the in bed in the second room was comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the shower was fine. In addition to the rooms, the exterior of the hotel also needs to be spruced up. In all fairness it was an ok place but definitely not worth the rating it had. There is potential there. There was a pool table and a large breakfast area, but there were limited breakfast items. They also have a little mini market where you can get snacks, drinks, and a few other items. The staff was friendly and hopefully they will begin some renovations. If you don't expect any frills, don't mind the types of things I mentioned, and have a limited budget you could probably do worse elsewhere.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. When we got here they said there was no air conditioning. They gave us a room that had a window to open the window and it had no screen. They had no refrigerator in the room so I asked them to bring one in like they said they had. The guys were very quick to bring one in. The bathroom door was off. I was very disappointed and would not stay there again.

The lobby had a distinct smell, even overwhelming in the morning. Like burning coffee. Something unpleasant. The room itself I would describe as neutral. No discernible scent on sheets or in the air.
