At our recent Easter trip to Colorado we decided to stay in the Berthoud Bed and Breakfast, situated in the little community Berthoud, only half an hour north of Denver. The Berthoud Bed and Breakfast was certainly a positive experience. The rooms, all in different styles, were comfortable and clean and the overall standard and service level high. The breakfast, consisting of a full meal, even including a desert was just delicious. The Berthoud Bed and Breakfast, located not far from Denver, but at the same time not far from the beautiful Colorado Mountains is highly recommended.

We found this little gem by chance, and it was the best place we stayed on our trip. The Victorian-style B&B is beautifully furnished with theme rooms, and lots of little details make your stay comfortable, relaxing and wonderful. The place is spotless. We stayed in the Oriental Room, and the room was cozy, with large, luxurious towels in the bathroom and good water pressure in the shower. Instead of normal generic bath soap, there was locally handcrafted soaps with essential oils. Rooms have free WIFI and satellite TV. Little candy dishes filled with cinnamon red hots or M&M candies are located in places to help yourself. Mark is a most gracious host, even leaving beers in the fridge to help oneself if a person so chooses. We had been told that Mark is a gourmet chef, and his breakfasts were certainly the highlight. Everything was spectacular. It's a 3-course affair, and includes a scrumptious dessert with ice cream! Dessert for breakfast!!! Yum! He was also graciously accommodating when we told him we didn't want meat, and served us wonderful salmon dishes instead. We stayed a day longer than planned because it was so relaxing. I would make sure to come back to this charming inn on any future trips to Colorado. Or maybe make that a destination in itself.

My husband and I recently spent a night at the Inn. As other reviewers have stated the Inn is gorgeous, the antiques and ambiance exceptional. We were able to spend some time sitting on the deck enjoying the scenery and music. Mark is by far one of the most conscientious and excellent hosts we have ever met. He is also a superb chef. The morning breakfast was just spectacular. Call when reserving a room because booking on line can give you the wrong information. When I booked online, I could only see, one room available and this turned out not to be the case. We stayed in the Tropical room, it is small but fine for a couple and just lovely.

I stayed in the Asia room for 2 nights in May. I wish I could have stayed longer. Upon arrival I was met by Sue (A very good friend of Mark, the owner). I'm sorry I missed Mark, who was on a rare getaway. But actually, I can't imagine getting a better welcome than the one I got from Sue. The 3 course breakfast in the morning is out of this world. I wish I was a bigger eater so I could enjoy all of the courses. Ummm, breakfast that comes with dessert. There are no negatives at this Inn. I was visiting relatives in Berthoud and the Inn was 4 blocks from their house. The Inn is situated at the East end of town, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the other end of town so everything is within walking distance; diners, brew pubs, Museum, drug store, Grocery store. Everyone in town was so friendly, I was trying to find a Berthoud souvenir (they must be very rare) and I got steered to Indigo Sky where Gena fixed me right up.

The room and the entire Inn was kept spotless, the bed was extremely comfortable, and a detail that I consider important - the shower was fantastic - plenty of hot water and lots of pressure for a soothing massage. The Inn itself is loaded with character and charm. Thanks Mark and Sue, I had a wonderful time. Highly recommended.

We could not have been happier with our experience with Berthoud Inn & Events! We stayed in the French Room, and we were so distracted by wedding activities that Saturday that we forgot to check in. Mark kindly reminded us and made alternate arrangements. There was a special welcome for us on the door when we arrived! The next morning, the breakfast was sublime. We will definitely come back for a second visit!

I can't say enough about the great stay that I had at the Berthoud Inn and events. This was my first bed and breakfast experience and this will be the standard to which all others will have to rise.
There grounds and Victoria home were stunning and an overall peacefulness prevails. The breakfast was magnificent, really enough to keep you going for the whole day as well as delious. Mark could not have been a better host, friendly and very accommodating. I have to say one of my best vacations ever. Do yourself a favor and come for a stay at Berthoud Inn And Events.

What a great place to stay. Very relaxing, charming, and highly recommended. I've not stayed in a B & B in years due to a bad experience. Let me tell you…this was such a treat. Thank you Karin for helping check me in. Mark the amazing breakfast. I was in town for a local convention. The close proximity was a bonus, yet the inn was not right in town where the normal large hotels were. This was truly a blessing. Met a fellow attender and we had a great time here. Great atmosphere and what everyone says about the breakfast is true. Best I've ever had!! The laid back town was so beautiful. The grounds of the inn are kept up well. I stayed in the Oriental room. Not large but perfect for me. I traveled solo, but even with two would be very comfortable. Please try this place out. I will be returning. Thanks to the staff and Mark.

Great bed and breakfast within walking distance of charming, downtown Berthoud, Colorado. This historic home, built in 1888, has unique and comfortable rooms. Plus there's a 2-bedroom apartment for extended stay visitors and people with dogs.

The best part of staying at the Berthoud Inn, however, is the food. The innkeeper is a top-notch chef. We think this is what really sets this place apart! We've stayed at many bed and breakfasts across the United States and the UK, and a lot of them have great food, but the Berthoud Inn has outstanding food.

We would definitely go back and we will definitely recommend it to friends and family.

We were in town for a family event and stayed 2 nights at the Berthoud Inn. The inn is just what you would expect to find when looking for a relaxing B&B experience. Had a great stay and the innkeeper, Mark Chafee, was a wonderful host and fantastic chef for our gourmet breakfasts. In fact, on our final day we had an early flight to catch out of Denver and he was up early to provide fresh coffee, muffins and fruit plates for us at 6:30 am. We look forward to staying here in the future.

We started our first trip to CO at this cozy and comfortable B & B. Our room was funky and spacious. The grounds, especially the back/side yard, were a great place to enjoy a glass of wine. As nice as all of that was, nothing prepared us for the incredible breakfasts. In fact, that alone was worth the price of admission. We have stayed at many B & Bs and no breakfast has come close to the ones prepared by Mark, whose direct and engaging conversation added to the experience. Looking forward to returning one day.
