I was very pleased with my accommodations at this charming little motel. It is located in a nice safe spot in South City with a Jack in the Box, a Subway, a Grocery Outlet and a Chevy's Restaurant right across the highway. The room was clean and nicely appointed. It felt inviting and comfortable, having all the amenities I needed for my stay. The staff is very congenial and they made me feel welcome. I slept very well as the area is quiet late at night. I had planned to stay one night but enjoyed my visit enough to book an additional night. I look forward to my next stay and would recommend Traveler's Inn highly.

Travelers Inn South SF. Very clean hotel/motel just south of SF. Just across from the parking lot is the gas station's convenience store where you can grab a quick breakfast
Or snack. Costco is just a half block away, and lots of family restaurants by a very big shopping mall is 12 mins away. Surprisingly, after dinner in China town after a long
day of sightseeing, the next thing we realized was we were already at the hotel, a mere
15-20 mins easy drive. And of course downtown SF, Golden Gate Bridge etc is a mere 20-30 mins drive away.

We just happened by this charming little motel. We didn't want to stay in San Francisco because of all the traffic so we drove a little south. This Traveler's Inn was right by the BART Train access. (Bay Area Rapid Transit)
The owner let us leave our car at the motel as we rode the train into the city to do the tourist thing. The room was very very clean. It was near a convenience store so we could grab a quick bite to eat and fuel our car.
If we ever go back, we'll be staying here! The price was just right too!

This is a clean and convenient hotel for South San Francisco activities. It definitely has a budget feel with extremely hard beds and the pillows are so hard they will not conform to anything other than an immovable square. As others have said, it's in a busy little center so, lots of traffic with the gas station and fast food place. Also, I noted that one of the former reviewers mentioned the showers being slippery and my husband almost bit the dust as he stepped into ours. They are a faux marble type material and are extremely slippery. They haven't added a no-skid mat even after their former guest fell and hurt himself and we almost joined that unfortunate club.

It was very clean, however, and the gentleman in the office was very friendly. I don't believe we would stay here again but it was a decent choice for one night and might be for you as well.

I didn't expect very much from this hotel. When I went to the front desk the gentlemen in charge was very kind and helped us check in earlier than usual. Really helped out my wife and I. We walked in the room and were amazed at how spacious the room was. Very clean. My wife and I were very impressed with our stay and if we ever visit San Francisco again we will absolutely stay there. Great room for a great price.

We stayed here recently and was so very pleased with our accommodations. I had originally made the reservation for the wrong night and when I called Travelers Inn, Paul made the changes for me and was so helpful! Don't be put off by the gas station/fast food place in front of the hotel. It wasn't a problem for us at all. The entire grounds were clean and tidy and it was nice to be able to get a snack there after we arrived. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever had at a hotel. The room was very clean and felt fresh. TV had lots of channels and the wifi worked just great. We used this hotel because of a medical appointment nearby and will most definitely be repeat
customers. The management was very helpful and friendly. A great stay in a convenient location!

My mom and I drove up here from LA in August. We didn't have a whole lot of money to be spending on our hotel, and you really need to have a whole lot of money if you want to stay in San Francisco, so we decided to stay here and just take the BART* into town. BART station is about a 5-10 minute walk, not far at all. There's a Starbucks near it and a Trader Joe's and a big old Costco. Costco had pretty cheap gas so good deal.

Not much to say about the hotel itself really, staff was alright, not rude but not that warm either but hey, it's a cheap little motel so yeah, no surprises. DON'T come here if you care that there is a gas station and Carl's Jr RIGHT OUTSIDE your hotel room. Like 20 feet from your door. Noise wasn't that bad though surprisingly. As long as the windows are shut. You'll be better off just not acknowledging your surroundings. Don't try to buy something from the gas station minimart at night. They close the doors and they only talk to you through an intercom or something, and I think you can't buy stuff from there at night anyway. So yeah, not a great area that the motel is in, but the rooms were clean, not too noisy there, and saved us a LOT of money visiting SF.

* Something you should know about the BART if you're gonna take it; there are no day passes or multi-day passes or anything like that you can buy at the stations, and it's about 3 or 4 bucks for each trip you make on it, so that's kinda lame. The SF city buses have transfers and all that, but MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CASH (like singles or fives and also quarters) because, and now my memory's a little hazy but the anger is quite clear in my mind still, the change machines are bloody useless. I think we had only twenties and we were stuck wandering around the bus station begging people for change, it was awful. You need the change for the buses.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was perfect. On the Bart line between the airport and the city centre is was really easy to get around and at about $7 return to the city centre really good value also. We came back late on a few nights and the 5-10 min walk from the station is well lit, on main roads and in a very nice neighbourhood, we felt very safe both on the Bart and the walk back.

The manager was really great and friendly, he helped us out with all our questions and gave us really good advice, he was even kind enough to drop us off for breakfast one morning.

The rooms are clean and made up each day, this was just what we were after and it ticks all the right boxes. I would defiantly recommend this if your looking for good value in and around San Francisco.

With very affordable price in the expensive city of San Francisco, this hotel offers more than the price. Rooms are pretty spacious. Bathroom is small but has everything in it including the dryer. Floor is covered with clean and dry carpet. Staffs are helpful. Location is perfect for going to all direction around SF area. Parking is abundant and free.

Are your sheets and towels 100% cotton?
Answer from phsk100
south san francisco1 contribution
Hello The Towels are 100% cotton and done in house. The sheets are done by a laundry service company and to be honest i have no idea what material they are. But we have never had a complaint on our sheets. Hope this answers your question. Thank you!

How much did the BART cost to get to san Francisco?
Answer from Nancy W
New Jersey2 contributions2 helpful votes
$3.60 one way to the Powell station which is right near the cable cars. Best to buy round trip BART tix because you can only use the same cc 2x in 48 hours for security reasons. You can research online but I still had to ask once I got there, and everyone is really helpful navigating around. Driving and parking is very difficult/expensive in the city, and public transit is great. If you buy a CityPass it gives you unlimited access to BART and MUNI transport (buses) plus a lot of nice attractions (for which you can bypass the lines).
