Flew in and got picked up by double tree. 5 stars. Check in for my room was scheduled at 3, had to wait until 5:30 for my room to be ready. Not cool. This is a real review. Management should be fired. Management said too bad so sad even though I had a huge conference and speech scheduled for 6 that I could not get dressed for. Very poor performance. You may be reading this and saying I’m a hater but I don’t care this management sucked and should be fired. Not even a sorry just a too bad.
Great way to start vacation - our family had an unexpected trip to the ER and showed up late. Our room was comfortable for the short amount of time we were in the room! The shuttle to the airport was less than 5 minutes and the ride back was just as quick!
For this great looking place and a well known name hotel— the rooms were pretty awful— very used and DIRTY— one small hand soap for two sinks that were separated by a wall. The door to the bathroom was sooo warped and rotted on the inside bottom — it was an old 1980s wooden door and just gross. The bathroom floor was so dirty-, it was the old 1980s’ marble/ceramic, yellow— I cleaned the floor with a washcloth just so we could use toilet— with socks on!! I bring Clorox wipes anyhow— it’s pretty normal these days to clean your own hotel room— but jeez…. They need to knock off an additional $50, or provide the supplies to pre-clean the room.
Let's start with the positive. Three things that delighted me: 1. The reservation was for only one night. 2. 3. This hotel is beyond tired. It needs a deep clean, better yet--a complete redo. Hallway and room carpets are filthy. The guestroom ceiling is dirty and stained. The attempts to hide the stains with mismatched paint made it worse. For some odd reason there's a $30 per day parking fee. For that price we should have slept in the car. It's cleaner.
While the guest rooms are in need of an update, let me tell you the staff of this hotel more than make up for it. Shu at the front desk was friendly, knowledgeable and hospitality driven. The whole FD staff were great. Jennifer at the Sushi bar was great as well. Everyone in banquets and the gentlemen who was cleaning near the ballroom doors heading outside took the time to doorstop the doors so we could load out at 10pm at night. Fabulous staff. Your General Manager should be proud of all the staff of this hotel. Rooms can be remodeled, good hospitality driven employees are hard to come by these days. Great job Doubletree staff!
I am a Hilton Honors member and was so happy that the soccer tournament in Sunnyvale booked rooms at Hilton hotel. I arrived at the hotel at midnight and checked in and the front desk area looked so nice so I was very surprised by the awfulness of the room. I have never been in a Hilton that looks this awful. There is not a working lock on the bathroom door, there are black stains in mirror, the door frame to entry door looks like it had been slammed or damaged severely, bugs in light fixture, stains on tile in shower, the beds mattress are lop sided, and the toilet was stained and dented. As a Hilton Honor member I would think there is a standard to live up to as a Hilton hotel.
I stayed for over a week and I can think of several improvements. 1) Why are guests not provided with water? How exactly am I supposed to arrange a drinking water supply? The only way I was able to get some water was by physically going to the reception and asking for some water bottles. I asked for the room service to send it to my room and they said that won't be possible. 2) Hand-wash is an absolute essential. Giving me a small bar of soap is not going to help. Once the soap is wet, is gets so gross. It is just not good customer experience. 3) The room and lobby carpets are decades old. Also the in-room couch looks so old from wear and tear. The hotel is in need of an immediate renovation, 4) The in-room air heater/conditioner was broken. 5) The TV in my room was certainly a decade old. Also which TV network are you guys using, it just had 25 channels. 6) The in-room dining is almost non-existent. I have to physically go to the only restaurant operating in the hotel and have to order food, because no one picks up the phone. On their website they have listen many dining options, but only one is operational and that too isn't available 24 hours. Most high-end hotels now have a 24 hours dining option available on-site. 7) The bed gave me a backache. The staff was however friendly. The room interiors and lobby look as if they were made in the 2000s.…
This hotel deserves no stars and gets one from me only due to the friendly competent staff at the coffee bar, which didn’t open early enough for the convention we attended and always had extremely long lines, at least the staff tried and went above and beyond. Everything else about this hotel is disguising and awful. Pull up and there are no longer bellman or valet staff. Have fun looking for parking. There is none. We made our own spot so far away from the hotel itself it was a marathon to make it to the front lobby with our bags. Also it costs $30 a night. The lobby is dirty, the pool is awful and disgusting and the staff is generally ignoring everything. There is no room service anymore or restaurants open all day. There is a Reno like breakfast joint straight out if the 80’s only open 1/2 day and a lobby bar. Nothing family friendly for dinner. The rooms look like rooms from the 80’s too with old worn out furniture, bad dim lighting and old smoke stench. Our hall reeked of marijuana most evenings. No one ever came to clean our room throughout our stay so I got towels from housekeeping. Trash litters the hallways and lobby of the hotel all hours of the day and night. I’m appalled that Hilton has a hotel if this caliber in its portfolio.…
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I really appreciated the text message check-in‘s and hotel shuttle. Getting what you need is relatively easy. My room was just dirty. It was obvious that surfaces were not wiped from the prior person that stayed there. I happen to have cleaning wipes because of Covid. I did pay a fee for early check in which I believe should’ve been refunded since I was given a dirty room.
Great room. Beautiful lobby and pool areas. Too bad Spencer's wasn't open, probably due to Covid. In-room food service did not dazzle. Nice Sushi place a couple blocks away. A little further is a Denny's, but not much else within walking distance.
