Wife and I had a delightful long weekend at Southbridge.
I’d reserved a Deluxe Room, King Bed, Courtyard view and was assigned Room #17. Second floor. The room has windows opening onto the courtyard and out onto Main Street. With the windows opened it’s a little noisy with street noise, but I was pleasantly surprised at how quite it was with the windows closed.
Room was quite spacious with everything you might need. Drinking water and a couple apples were left for our arrival. The room has a wood-burning fireplace and upon request they left us a Duraflame log in the room. (no charge)
You have full access to the Spa & Healthclub next door. Very nice clean club, with full gym equipment, lap pool, hot tub, locker rooms, with a steam room. (Steam rooms are located in the locker rooms, so no co-ed steam with the wife)
The people at the hotel were very friendly. We didn’t need to ask for much, but any questions/requests were quickly addressed.
Breakfast setup is cool. You fill out a sheet of paper each night with your order, list a time for delivery, and drop it off at the front desk the night before. Standard continental breakfast options. The breads (Croissant, muffin, scone) were quite tasty. The small pot of coffee was appreciated too.
The place is centrally located on the south side of town. Across grom Gotts with a few restaurants and wineries within walking distance. Upon check-in you get a voucher for two free tastings at Merryvale winery which is across the parking lot.
We will definitely return next time we’re looking for a romantic weekend in St. Helena.

Southbridge is a great find on the southern tip of St. Helena. Easy walk into the charming downtown, and adjacent to two outstanding restaurants. Rooms were reasonably priced and well-appointed. Will definitely stay there again.

The staff here is incredibly friendly, and my deluxe king room was spacious and clean. There was water, apples, and coffee in my room and a mini fridge that fit two 2-liters I had brought AND the leftovers of a small pizza from the restaurant next door!
I had a small balcony (a little larger than a Juliet but not one I would attempt to stand on) and a view of a courtyard. The balcony doors were a little bit tough to open, though. I had a fireplace as well (with a log and matchbook) but did not use it.
The bathroom had only a shower (no tub), but it was large and the water pressure was incredible. It didn't get quite as hot as I would have liked, though? I really liked the soaps and shampoos. My bathroom had a skylight as well, which was nice, and the front desk was able to give me a toothbrush when I realized I'd forgotten mine.
The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows, and they were firm enough to support my neck. (So often I find pillows in hotels too soft.) The desk chair (I had come to do some work) was straight-backed and wooden, so not the most comfortable, but there were a couple other chairs in the room that were padded. I wished I'd brought my lapdesk so I could work while sitting in those more.
They gave me a form to fill out for my breakfast to be delivered each morning, and the English muffins in particular were very good. Again, the staff was all so friendly; they made me feel very comfortable.
The entrance was a bit tricky to find, and the hotel is located near the train tracks, so you will hear the Napa Valley Wine Train a few times a day. Also, it can be difficult to turn left out of the lot when leaving because the street tends to be very busy.

The entire experience was comfortable and pleasant. The beds and linens were magical, the breakfast service to your room every morning was a wonderful start to the day and the location was perfectly central for all our activities. We were even able to walk to amazing restaurants. Definitely will be coming back!

Great location near downtown at Helena and 15-20 min from all wineries we were interested and only 20-25 from downtown Napa. Staff was wonderful, coffee and breakfast was planned and delivered daily. And they made diet accommodations as needed. Suite was great size, allowed us room and also gave me place to work when needed.

We had a terrific stay at the Southbridge Hotel. Bang for the buck, it offers everything one might need when wine tasting. I know there are fancier places, but this is a well appointed place with great service, comfortable beds, fireplace, updated bath with access to the Napa Valley Health Spa. When we go wine tasting we usually don't spend too much time in the room so the idea of paying north of $1,000 per night is ridiculous. This is right in the heart of wine country, on the southern edge of downtown South Helena and delivered breakfast to the room - really appreciated that! I REALLY loved that they provided the robes that you can don and head next door to the Spa.

I love this hotel which is small, friendly and offers little extras like breakfast delivered to your room. The staff know you by name and are always available to offer advice and assistance. The location is great for visiting restaurants, wineries and strolling into town. We also love having the use of the Health and fitness facilities right next door. I would highly recommend staying here and we would not hesitate to do so again.

Access to the adjacent Health Spa Napa Valley and all of its features is complimentary to Southbridge guests. (Fitness center, outdoor heated lap pool, hot tub, locker room) Health and exercise classes are however charged per class.
We are just over a third of the way through our bathroom renovation project. ALL of our rooms and bathrooms are lovely, and large. The room rates in September and October are based on Harvest in Napa Valley. This is our most in demand season,when guests visit to enjoy the sights and sounds of Napa Valley's annual Harvest.
We are literally at the southern end of the darling town of St. Helena. In the very next city block, your downtown experience begins - all within a 5 minute walk. The furthest end (northern end) of town is a mere half a mile walk from Southbridge.
Our rooms have standard tub/shower combos. Our adjacent Health Spa Napa Valley does offer an invigorating hot tub for your enjoyment.
