We could tell it was a great choice before we even entered the resort! While trying to decide on which rooms to book, whether to bring the dog and if there were any summer specials, we must have made a half dozen calls to reservations. Every employee was pleasant and happily helped us with whatever we needed...including about 4 changes & return calls. The Director of Rooms, Morgan Rucker went above and beyond guiding us to the best accommodations at the best price. The entire department was so impressive, and that is a testament to Morgan. Moving on, the rooms were beautifully appointed (love the high ceilings), the grounds were impeccably kept, and there were so many things to do and see that 3 days wasn't long enough. We took advantage of the wine tasting - be sure to do that if you have time. We also rented a cabana at the pool that was well attended with courteous and accommodating staff. We celebrated my son's birthday on the property at Cello Ristorante. We sat on the patio watching a beautiful sunset while sipping some delicious wine. We all enjoyed our meals and our server was a pro who was happy to fulfill all special requests. The resort is in a great location, far enough away from the main shops, eateries, and surrounding vineyards, yet still within an easy 15-minute drive. I cannot wait to return again and again. Very dog friendly :-)

This review is only related to the resort itself, excluding the restaurant on location which have room to improve. This resort, is one of the best I have ever experienced. It is literally a santuary in a small beautiful town about 2 hr drive south of San Jose California. This place have a lot of individual yard enclosures that have different themes perfect for relaxation, reflection, deep thoughts or just enjoy the environment. During my mid week stay, we were blessed with near perfect weather and the place were large enough that there is enough private space for all. These areas are also perfect for romantic weddings.
This resort provide an excellent facilites that is nutruing and rejunating. Friendly staff.
A few downside. It is not cheap A few minor inconvenience like Valet parking staff is not always there; room cleaning can be late. Restaurant have lots of room for improvement. But there are wonderful restaurants in town. Our suite on top of the main stair ( which is beautiful and grand) have paper thin wall. We can hear every word from the happy crowd by the fireplace and at the bar.
We are looking to return to spent Christmas there.

Allegretto’s architecture is magnificent, with original pieces of art - paintings, sculptures, fountains everywhere on the property. The service is exceptional, and we enjoy the Cello restaurant so much that we often had meals there, although other nice places are available in town. Our room was spacious and comfortable, including the bathroom with a large shower, and we enjoyed fine linens and pillows. Having a room with French doors opening on to a pretty patio also creates a pleasant experience.

We were excited to book a room with a terrace for two nights, for a special occasion, and had requested a pet-free room in connection with the online booking. The hotel emailed us a reply that they couldn’t guarantee a pet-free room (even though they had multiple available rooms at the time of our booking) but that they would put in a ”very strong request” for a pet-free room.
We called them up to try to confirm that we would actually get a pet-free room (otherwise we would have to cancel and book another hotel).
The answer the front desk gave us was utterly confusing. First, they didn’t have any availability. Then, they managed to book us in a pet-free room with a balcony. When we asked the to confirm this information, they said ”yes it’s a pet-friendly room”. It needs to be a pet-free room, we said, which is when they said that they didn’t have any available!
This whole circus ended with them repeating the words ”we will put in a strong request for a pet-free room”, and us canceling the entire reservation.
Besides giving us unintelligent answers and not accommodating our request, the hotel is essentially reserving rooms for animals first, not humans. Is this what you call five star service? We don’t think so. Terrible.

The place outwardly is exquisite. It’s very beautiful and the staff is friendly.
1. You cannot use your MobilePhone to pay your bill. They do not have Apple Pay or the ability to TAP your phone to use your credit card. Everyone else has the ability to tap and use their phone except this place.. 2. Upfront they take an additional $150 off of your credit card immediately. They say it’s for incidentals. To me this is a scam. I’ve never heard of a hotel and I’ve been around the world, taking $150 off of your credit card immediately. then when you check out they supposedly refund it but it takes 5 to 10 days to show up on your statement. Normally a hotel will just add your amenity or your dining to your bill. They already have your credit card on file. 3. The sofa in my room number 266 has no support. It’s very old and saggy. 4. All showers should have a grab bar of some kind. These showers have nothing to hold onto if you want to lift your foot up to clean it, etc..

The resort is charming, beautiful, beautifully maintained, and restful. You feel like you are in Italy from the moment you walk in the door. It is appointed with art, statutes, wodwork from all over the world which were hand-picked by the owner. The center courtyard is beautiful. You can sit there for hours reading a book, enjoying the weather and fress smells of the olive trees and vineyards, enjoy an afternoon snack and wine from the tasting room. You can enjoy typical hotel amenities such as a pool and gym, but this resort offers so much more. It it attached to it's vineyards where you can stroll through the grape vines and visit the zodiac gardens. There is a chapel to pray or meditate in, and pathways are all around the building. Inside, there are large roaring fireplaces with comfortable overstuffed chairs and sofas. You can drink their delicious wines and enjoy the beautiful setting. The restaurant and bar also severe delicious food. The resort is conveniently located within a short drive to the town of Paso Robles. We enjoyed strolling the streets, went to the movies and an outdoor farmers market. There were a number of good restuartans in Paso Robles. Do not miss this experience.

A large, luxurious, property. We booked a room with a terrace in order to sit outdoors with wine and food in the evening. The room was very spacious, nicely appointed/decorated, and the bathroom was spacious and very up to date. The entire property is very attractive and well maintained. This is one man’s vision of a resort, and there are numerous curiosities to explore during strolls around the property. We ate breakfast in the restaurant each morning, went out for dinner once, but the other two evenings sat on our terrace with cheese, charcuterie, crackers, etc and of course wine. We appreciate that this property offers space for walking, the CA wine country in the area is rural and hilly so we spend most of each day in cars and look for places to get some exercise. We also appreciate the convenient location, very near the main road but far enough that it’s very quiet.

We opted for the upgraded suite with breakfast included. The suite is not worth the extra money. We had a patio with a view of the gate to the pool and it was very noisy. If we stay again, we will opt for the basic king room on a higher floor with a view of the vineyard. The extra cost for the bed and breakfast rate was $61 per day which was applied to our breakfast bill excluding tip and taxes. It would have been cheaper to just pay for our breakfast rather than pay extra for the bed and breakfast rate. If you have an EV you can charge it there but only if you valet park for $20 a day. We had a massage at the spa at $150 per person but they add an automatic 20% gratuity so massages are actually $180. You have to read the fine print on their spa menu to see this.

This is a beautiful facility, elegant yet relaxed, and filled with interesting original artwork; the building surrounds a lovely tiled courtyard with a fountain and tables and couches (and fire pits) where you can plop down and enjoy a glass of wine. It's quiet and serene, and the grounds are gorgeous, too. It almost feels like being in Italy! The room was spacious and nicely appointed, with a particularly deluxe shower. Our experience in the restaurant, however, was disappointing. We'd made reservations and opted to sit outside. We were shown to a tiny table squeezed into a corner and right next to a busy door with servers and guests going in and out. When I went back inside to ask if we could move to a better (less cramped) table at the other end of the patio, the hostess seemed annoyed and wanted to know what was wrong with the one we had gotten stuck at. Once we got re-seated, we were attended by a server who could hardly have been worse. Example: about halfway through the meal, we asked for the drinks menu so that we could get more wine. He came with the drinks list but then it took 15-20 minutes for him to return (slowly strolling) and take our order. Indeed, long intervals ensued between any interactions we had with this guy. He was very nonchalant! We seldom leave stingy tips but in this case the very few bucks we grudgingly added to the bill were more than he really deserved. Meanwhile, all the other tables in our vicinity were served by a lively young person who was constantly checking to make sure everyone had what they needed and who bustled around energetically, promptly bringing various courses to the diners. The food was very good, but wow, the service!!

We didn't stay here, but across the street. Had we known about this resort, i would have easily stayed here instead. We enjoyed walking around the 20 acre winery resort spa filled with an eclectic mixture of antiques with both eastern and western influences. There's a spa with facials and massages available. An Italian restaurant was on premises and a chapel making it a perfect wedding venue. My absolute favorite was the tasting room where for a fee, you can enjoy tasting 5-6 wines. Alternatively, you can order wines by the glass.
