So...always wanted to stay here, kind of a bucket list place. Making some good money lately so we pull the trigger. Get to the room and it smells like SUPER DUPER strong bleach....no biggie, they care about being clean, THEN the mold smell takes over...disgusting, terrible...go to office to tell tell them, and they say we must be loopy no one else has ever complained? We ask for a fan and they give us a heater, then they end up giving us a fan....all windows open and the fan blowing and it still smells of mold. Asked for a different room...none available..asked for some fabreeze...they will see what they can do, they were fully annoyed at our request and concerns and had no f's to give. Felt like we were bugging them about the stinky room...lol. They did give us a discount on the room so instead of $1500 for 2 nights it was $1200,,,,not worth it....stay somewhere else. Total rip off, The manager at the end said sorry...so that was nice and said that they had mold issues in that room before....so .....stay somewhere else.…
The rooms were outstanding and the Staff amazing. The breakfast staff were a breath of fresh air and could not do enough for you. Your wish was their command. Custom S’more’s at night from the crackling fires. Location in the middle of everything! Book with extreme prejudice for you next wine country trip and be prepared to be Wowed in every way. Almost forgot The Bar staff were at your beckoned call and what atmosphere. A Special thx to the front desk staff that made our stay extra special Alex Montague
We visited the Hotel Cheval for our 40th wedding anniversary. No detail was overlooked. The staff was warm & gracious. The champagne on ice, romantic. The s'mores served in the courtyard at the fireplace were a perfect way to end each day. This wasn't just a place to sleep, it was an experience in pampering. We are counting the days until we can return.
We stayed 2 nights, with 2 other couple friends, and loved the experience! The staff was amazing, the service impeccable! Cookies in the rooms, S'mores with butlers by the fireplaces in the evenings, fires in the library (with a candy bar!) and yummy breakfast! Only issue was with the HVAC during an unseasonably hot weekend, but they're working with us. Can't wait to go back!
I cannot say enough good things about this lovely hotel! The location, the ambience, the amenities, and the staff are all exceptional. From the beginning of our planning stages until our final checkout, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. Our rooms were lovely; the courtyard was picturesque yet cozy; the daily breakfast and candy bar were true treats; and THE S’MORES raised everything to another level!!! We will DEFINITELY be back!
I would highly recommend Cheval for a break away from LA or Santa Barbara or anywhere else. Amazing service - we loved the front desk staff - I'm just sad I forget their names. They are warm, kind, friendly and welcoming. It was two of us and our service dog. It really felt like a treat - the rooms are lovely, sooooo quiet!!! We'll be back soon!!
I traveled to Central California with a friend who has stayed at this hotel many times. And now I see why. It's centrally located in a very walkable town. And the rooms, staff, breakfast and total ambiance is incredible .......... as evidenced by the many good reviews. The property is very peaceful and the rooms are spacious. What more can I say? If/when I return to Paso I'll look no further for a hotel.
Our stay at Hotel Cheval was outstanding! Five star experience with the most hospitable and friendly staff who treat you like family. Beautiful grounds, delicious breakfast included, evening S'mores bar by the outside fireplaces. Within walking distance of downtown restaurants and shops. Lovely weekend getaway in the wine country of Paso Robles. We can't wait to return!
We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Cheval during our wedding week in Paso and had an amazing time! The staff was extremely friendly, the room luxurious, and those S'mores!!! The Pony Club had also just reopened, so loved spending a couple nights there enjoying a glass of wine (or two). We couldn't have asked for a better - more relaxing - visit during a very busy wedding week for us. Thank you Hotel Cheval... we will definitely be back again. Cheers!
Retuning to Hotel Cheval is on our wish list. Although we had a short stay, Doreen and the entire staff went out of their way to accommodate our delayed arrival. The room with a fireplace and the entire property was a delight. Our only regret was that we did not try the s'mores in the evening. Two wood burning outdoor fireplaces with seating and the library offered great places to enjoy wine during a cool evening.
