A walk around from the outside is misleading. Inside is an oasis and a very good restaurant. The pools, and grounds are very well kept and a chaise in the sun can always be found. There was a commercial being filmed poolside when we were there.
After 4 days in Vegas this was such an oasis to relax and chill-out .The rooms were wonderful, service great and it was so easy to just relax by the pool and do nothing .I loved the free iced water available all day - free tea in the morning and free valet .Didnt check out the next door pools but the large pool was wonderful to do some real swimming and the smaller pool perfect for hopping in to cool down as the temp got to 107 .Rooms simple but having 2 bathrooms was really nice Would love to come back
We just got back from an anniversary trip and absolutely loved the Avalon. The hotel was beautifully kept, with everything we needed. We were a close proximity to great restaurants and hikes/biking trails. Highly recommend!
This hotel is nothing like it is presented online. This was my birthday weekend, and honestly, when I walked into the room I felt a swell of sadness because of how disappointed I was with the room. There is nothing "luxury" about the hotel. Our guest room had no amenities. The only furniture was the bed, and two night stands. It had clearly just been painted (poorly) and some fancy light fixtures were hung, but otherwise, everything was old. The TV was outdated, and not a "smart" TV, so we could not use any apps. The shower was old, extremely small and very dark. I was very unimpressed with the property overall. The pool area would be nice, except that the restaurant tables are very close to the pool, so if you want to go in the hot tub, there are people sitting directly next to the hot tub, eating their food. For what we paid for this room, I expected quite a bit more from the property and I wanted the room to feel much more luxurious. …
Maybe the bungalows are different, but our basic room was old and tired. Water took too long to get warm. Only one mirror and one sink in the room. No furniture to put shopping bags or a suitcase on. Paid with points. If I had paid the regular $600/night, it would have been the most overpriced room I have ever stayed in. Valet and staff were great.
My wife and I decided to venture back to one of favorite properties in Palm Springs. We have been going to the Avalon since it was the Viceroy and love this property. From Raj and Alex in valet, Jonathon at the bar, Matt, Juan, and Denise at the front desk everyone always makes us not miss home and want to extend our trip! Also don’t forget that Melvyn’s Restaurant has amazing, food, and entertainment as part of the adults only hotel at the Avalon. If your are looking for quiet weekend in Palm Springs for adults or looking to have your family experience life like socialites, book early as their busy season starts soon!
This is a gem tucked right near everything. I will be back! The service was great— very friendly. Big rooms. Great hikes nearby. Wonderful staff and gorgeous views from the many pools. Also: peloton in the fitness center!
Area manager Matt Shough was very professional and focused on customer service issues. Great ambassador for the hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Valet was great. Good service and food at the restaurant CHI CHI. Serving coconut juice in the young coconut shell a nice touch. Location within walking distance of center of town and many restaurants, museum of art , etc. property with many nice features- three good sized pools, hot tub, plenty of comfortable lounge chairs/umbrellas.
This place really exceeded our expectations! The bungalow was very spacious and had great lighting in each room. It even had a big outdoor space for our dogs to run and play in! Staff were very helpful and attentive to any question or concern we had. The location this place is in was perfect for us because all the shops and restaurants we went to were within walking distance. They have a spa there so I booked the Avalon Massage treatment for my mother as a treat and her masseuse, Nuvia, was so lovely and attentive towards her. My mother left feeling so relaxed and taken care of. I would highly recommend this place to everyone I know and would 100% come back!
We stayed in a bungalow which had a self contained kitchen and 2 bedrooms, it was decorated to feel like we were back in the 1950's and i loved it! its a close walk into town and they offer complimentary bikes or you can hire electric bikes to see the sites. Everyone is very lovely here too.
