I travel a ton and stay at Marriott properties primarily. This was the cheapest option in the Palm Springs and Palm Desert area and it was the cheapest option for a reason. The rooms are worn and dated while the lobby is nicer and renovated. The employee at the front desk was very friendly and gave me laundry detergent for the clothes I needed to wash. But the washer and dryer were very worn out and not well maintained which was pathetic. Carpet is worn out throughout the hotel and the $8 parking charge was offensive but he did waive that charge when I checked in. For a quick visit, I think it is fine but I wouldn’t want to be in this hotel for more than a night.

Response from PSCourtyard, General Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Palm Springs
Responded Jan 31, 2020
Dear Guest I apologize your stay was not to your expectation and you felt the hotel was worn and dated. We value you feedback. Our hotel was renovated in 2013, and is due for an upgraded renovation this year from July-October. The washer and dryer had already been purchased and we are just waiting for them to arrive. As for the parking $8.00 is reasonable compared to other hotels that charge between $15-$30 per night. I hope you give us another change after the renovation is complete Thank you again for your feedback Sincerely Vanessa

This Courtyard is conveniently located near the PSP airport with an airport shuttle; the rooms are excellent and a location on the first floor is very convenient (ask for one near the pool). There was not a restaurant on site so you would need to do delivery if you do not have a car. Parking was free, the rooms were clean and we had a great stay coming and going. Kudos to all! Thanks for your assistance Gabby!!!

I’d probably rate this hotel 3.5, but I rounded up for the superb front desk staff and GM.

I would stay here again, as long as I could get another suite. The walls are thin, you can hear normal conversation through them, but the suite bedrooms are all the way at the ends of each hallway, so they’re dead quiet.

The beds and bed linens are quite new and nice, I’ve been sleeping well. The living room furniture, not so much. Tired, worn out, sagging. The hotel is in the middle of a remodel, though. I don’t know about the standard rooms, but the suite has a fridge and microwave, which is perfect, since restaurant takeout lasts me two or three meals. Wifi is fast, the TVs are smart and you can sign in to your Netflix or other account.

It’s a little out of the way, but I love to walk, if it weren’t blazing hot this week. Driving, it takes 3 minutes to get anywhere you want to be, and parking in PS is very easy.

We stayed one Saturday night at Courtyard Palm Springs because it was one of the few hotels within walking distance (20 minutes) from town that wasn't fully booked over a weekend. At first I felt it wasn't popular because it served as one of several airport hotels, but we didn't see anyone using the airport van. We checked in early and were given a room 331 with a wide porch facing west toward a "wide open spaces" view of an open plot of desert land and silver-gray Mount San Jacinto in the background. The room was clean and comfortable, and everything worked. Parking was plentiful and free. The price made the Courtyard a very good value. Our son stayed in another room facing the pool, and he had trouble regulating the temperature in his room. We paid extra for the breakfasts, and we felt they also were a good value. We had to show our vaccination cards in order to sit down and eat breakfast inside, according to local regulations. There are fences newly-erected around the large plot of land next door, indicating that the beautiful desert view might not be around very much longer. We felt the desert view plus reasonable walking distance to the main street was well worth the cost of the room.

I chose this hotel because of its location, so close to the airport and downtown. Check in was very quick, and the desk clerk gave us a choice of which floor we would like to be on, and put us on the side of the hotel away from the construction. She also gave us a choice of how often we would like housekeeping, and scheduled it in on our preferred day. She even gave us a discount on the parking ($5 instead of $10) as we were staying a week. There is a large, convenient parking lot. We got a lovely main floor room facing the courtyard and pool, with a little patio. It's been recently redone, with nice modern decor, comfy bed, big walk-in shower, mini fridge, large TV. The only thing missing was an in-room safe. The hotel info online said there was a safe, but they meant the safety deposit box at the front desk, I guess. If I had known this ahead, I would not have booked the hotel, as it is so inconvenient to not be able to lock up passports, money, electronics, in the room. (I have had a hotel room robbed before). We did make do with the safety deposit box, and it worked out OK except for the one time the desk clerk’s key wouldn’t open our box. The hotel was very quiet, and through the week we rarely heard any noise. The pool area is nice, and while we found the weather was too cool to swim, a few others were using the pool and hot tub. Because of COVID, we are still avoiding indoor crowds, so the Bistro set up was great. We were able to sit apart, down in the individual booths facing the courtyard, so felt comfortable. They had a nice little menu. We ate all our breakfasts there, and one supper, and all the food we tried was good. I don’t think we have ever stayed in a hotel where every single staff person we interacted with over the week, and there were a fair number, was so friendly, helpful and kind.

Checked in smoothly by the Asst GM. He asked me if I would like late check-out as a titanium member, and I said yes, asking for a 3pm out time. He agreed.

Three days later it's time to head home. I'm at a work meeting and my wife is packing up in the room. 1pm comes with a knock from room service asking when we will be leaving. My wife says 3pm, as requested at check in. Room attendant leaves.

30 minutes later, another knock. This time it's the hotel manager who asks with a glare if my wife would be checking out today. Yes, 3pm. She says no, that's not allowed, making a simple request for late check-out an uncomfortable pain for us.

I would not recommend staying here for anyone, but especially business travellers who have been to other, far superior, Marriott properties.

Also, charging $8/night to park in the off season is ridiculous.

We stayed for the night on our way home from Disney, I called in advance asking if they had a balloon or something because it was my daughters birthday that day. When we checked in the front desk all said happy birthday to her and in the room put a balloon with some small things but more importantly the entire staff signed her birthday card. We will stay again when we go back in vacation because it is these little things that make my daughter happy so it makes me smile.

We very much enjoyed this Mariott hotel, especially for the price. The hotel and rooms are very modern and very clean. The only downside was that while we were at the pool through out the day, not one person came out to pick up around the pool, brought clean towels, picked up dirty towels, or picked up trash on any of the days we were there. There was never enough towels and the pile of dirty towels was constantly overflowing and all over the pool deck from people who didn’t pick up after themselves. Despite that, I would definitely stay here again.

Great no frill hotels with small downside. My verdicts below:

1) Location is between downtown and PSP airport which I like because it’s very peaceful and quiet during the evening. Rite Aid pharmacy just 5 mins walk, 10 mins walk to the town mall if you need groceries also generic dining options (Subway, Dominos, Panda Express) if you can’t stand with overpriced restaurant in downtown PS. Mind due to the proximity to the airport, during the day you’ll feel the room shaky.

2) Room is generic but it clean, it works, there’s a dining table that you can pull out as well if you need more space. The balcony is nice but I did not hang out in the balcony as it’s too cold. The room seems recently refurbished, no more bathtub/shower combo which is nice and everything just works.

3) Staffs are wonderful. They seems really care about all the guests comfort. Housekeeping also done a great job although their English somehow limited.

4) On-site resturant, The Bistro is excellent, although the food options are fairly limited. The price might be a bit expensive — well it’s Palm Springs so I guess people have to deal with it. Luckily the food and coffee tasted decent.

5) I haven’t tried their fitness center. The swimming pool area looks nice, also the lounge in the lobby looks very comfy. Good if you need to host some friends/colleagues.

Overall I do recommend this property regardless of the downside that I mentioned (the shaky room, expensive F&B, and limited English for housekeeping staff).

5 stars!

We are Titanium Elite members of the Marriott Bonvoy Brand and this was a most unsatisfactory visit to this hotel. We were not using points and we booked a few months in advance. Not only we were not recognized as devoted clients of the Marriott brand, but we were placed in a room in THE WORST LOCATION in the entire hotel. We had used one of our Suite Upgrade vochers for 2021 and still it was a small room in a terrible location. When we asked about another placement, the woman at this desk said this was what was available. Hard to believe this is so in August in Palm Springs....Never again....

Does the Courtyard charge a "Resort Fee?" If so, how much per night?

Hi Traveler, I don't recall a Resort fee. I do recall a fee for parking in the parking lot - a first for me. They're in the hospitality business so Give them a call, and ask about fees and any incentives. Palm Springs is great so have fun on your travels.
