Before I begin my review, I must say that I have been a die hard Marriot customer since 2008. I frequently traveled in my former position and generally stayed at a Marriot or Starwood/SPG. They are now the same company. I am a silver elite customer. I have traveled to Palm Springs on and off now for many years and began staying at this particular Marriot Courtyard primarily due to its location and proximity to Palm Canyon Drive and ease to the 10 freeway. Obviously there are many place to stay in this location and it pains me greatly to say that I will be searching out other locations. And potentially not Marriot. Currently I do not feel they deserve my patronage. This Courtyard hotel has gone under some serious renovation and upgrades which was greatly needed in comparison to before, nicely done. With that said, I will continue with my review and must say that as far as complementary, what you just read was really as far as it goes unfortunately with this stay. Here's the gist. Currently, there is a large construction project underway exactly next to the hotel (western side of the hotel). I was not aware of it when I booked through Marriot Customer Service - shame on you for not knowing this and for not informing customers. Hence why my Marriot stays will probably be non-existent in the future. Admittedly, this reservation was an extension to a resort stay (Hilton Grand Vacation) and was last minute as I decided to remain an extra day to catch up with some friends who were also there coincidently. You must understand that this has been my Go-To hotel for sometime now. Not any more. The construction project woke me up at 5:30 in the morning with loud bangs and so much vibration that the night stand drawers next to my bed opened up on its own, and the bottle of water that was on the desk fell to the floor. Luckily it was sealed shut as it was unopened. This bang and vibration continued until I checked out about 10 AM. I had had enough! Normally I stay in the hotel to get a coffee and something to eat. Instead, I quickly went to Koffi down the street - wonderful place I might add and family owned. I will be writing a review on them. Nothing but perfect. There were no apologies from the front staff. Nothing. I told them about my experience. Nothing. The young women's response was, and most likely the standard response was as follows: "we advise guests when staying on this side of the hotel". My response was "Oh really. I was never informed". I truthfully I will say No One Said Anything About the Construction. As someone who these days travels less frequently, a short trip regardless of duration, should be a good one; and a welcomed change and an opportunity to relax. I would not advise staying at this hotel until the construction is completed. And again, Marriott Customer Service should be aware of this and advise customers of the situation. If booking online, there should be something that advises the potential customer that there is a current construction project underway and will affect one's stay.…
We stayed at the Courtyard on our second stop during our road trip and we would have liked to have stayed a night longer. Unfortunately our schedule didn't allow that. Before Palm Springs we spend three nights in LA and I advise all travelers to stay one night less in LA and to take an extra night in Palm Springs (Courtyard). Especially if there are teenagers involved. The Courtyard is an excellent hotel and de rooms ar clean and spacious. The beds are clean and slept lovely. The sanitary is also clean and this also counts for the swimming pool, the jacuzzi and the fitness area. The staff is polite and helpful. The building with the swimming pool gives a wonderful holiday feeling especially in the evening. I would recommend the Courtyard to every Palm Springs visitor! Palm Springs is a breath of fresh air after a few days in LA. On Thursday there is a village fest. On Thursday night there is a street fair featuring arts, crafts, food, and entertainment. Very nice to visit as well.…
Beautifully refurbished Courtyard. Our room had walk in shower replacing the shower over tub. And a duel flush high toilet. Halls were well padded new carpeting as well. Bistro has a simple menu. We had excellent Cobb salad prepared in front of us. In the morning, very friendly staff putting together Starbucks coffee as well cooked breakfasts. Front desk welcome was efficient and helpful. Best Courtyard we have been in for many a year.
Rough night stay. Was staying there one night-sat sun. We were woken up by rude guests in the hall way at midnight. Opened the door to see the commotion. I was upset and yelled to be quiet. 5 minutes later they knocked on the door and ran. I called and complained. Platinum Marriott status here. He stated they were aware of the folks when they came into the hotel. They were noisy downstairs. They sent up security and had a chat. Then about an hour later, again noise. I called and complained again. They went up and visited them again. Next morning I talked to the front desk. Asked for the contact info of the manager because I had a rough night. As I spoke the assistant manager came over. He was unaware of the issue - said he needed to read the night report. I explained and said I was concerned the night staff knew of the rowdiness of the folks and didn’t escort them to the room. I get it’s hard to manage the noise however in many hotels there are signs in hallways stating quiet zones after 10pm. The assistance manager acknowledged that weekends are sometimes a challenge with noise. Humm. Then figure out how to address this. Finally he said he would look into this and get back to me. Well nothing heard back. I never got the manager contact info as well. I probably won’t return to that facility.…
Great no frill hotels with small downside. My verdicts below: 1) Location is between downtown and PSP airport which I like because it’s very peaceful and quiet during the evening. Rite Aid pharmacy just 5 mins walk, 10 mins walk to the town mall if you need groceries also generic dining options (Subway, Dominos, Panda Express) if you can’t stand with overpriced restaurant in downtown PS. Mind due to the proximity to the airport, during the day you’ll feel the room shaky. 2) Room is generic but it clean, it works, there’s a dining table that you can pull out as well if you need more space. The balcony is nice but I did not hang out in the balcony as it’s too cold. The room seems recently refurbished, no more bathtub/shower combo which is nice and everything just works. 3) Staffs are wonderful. They seems really care about all the guests comfort. Housekeeping also done a great job although their English somehow limited. 4) On-site resturant, The Bistro is excellent, although the food options are fairly limited. The price might be a bit expensive — well it’s Palm Springs so I guess people have to deal with it. Luckily the food and coffee tasted decent. 5) I haven’t tried their fitness center. The swimming pool area looks nice, also the lounge in the lobby looks very comfy. Good if you need to host some friends/colleagues. Overall I do recommend this property regardless of the downside that I mentioned (the shaky room, expensive F&B, and limited English for housekeeping staff). 5 stars!…
We had lots of options for our friends’ epic Palm Springs wedding. We chose the reliability of Courtyard by Marriott and this property’s location. The hotel is close to everything, has ample reasonably priced parking, and is far enough away from the occasional madness of downtown. Vanessa, the General Manager greeted us with warm kindness. The lobby cafe serves great food and that much-needed Starbucks morning coffee.
After needing a last minute place to stay for my family on a trip from out of state, we booked 1 night at this courtyard Marriott and we were not disappointed! Room was clean, updated and comfortable. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. And the bistro’s service and food was excellent. Highly recommended!
I wish I could say that all Courtyards are the same, but they're quite different. Take this one in Palm Springs. As Marriott often does, they placed the Courtyard next to the much larger and considerably more expensive Renaissance. I like to have breakfast at the Renaissance. I will have coffee in my room, and take a cup with me. I made a joke, initially, about visiting our "High falutin' neighbor." I guess that's very anti Marriott. I explained that I was just kidding, and just making conversation. I guess that was acceptable. I'm sure it would be different if I dared swim in their pool. My point is, the pool at the Courtyard is wonderful. It's relatively quiet. It's a great temperature. And if it was a Westin instead, it would have a gigantic Resort Fee. This is what led me to the Courtyard. I hate Resort Fees. I think they're extortion. I always ask for the person at the front desk to sell me on the Resort Fee. The first thing that they mention is free local phone calls. Don't tell anyone, but guess where else one can make free local and long distance calls for free? Yes. Every single cell phone anywhere. The Courtyard offers free shuttle service to the Palm Springs Airport (PSP). You can also walk in less than 15 minutes. This is much easier in February than July. So, if you're looking for a hotel with the immaculate Marriott clean (this has been Marriott policy since way before the pandemic), a larger than average room, and wonderful guests and especially wonderful and above and beyond staff, this is the place. And make your reservation early for the best rate. I'm going for 4 nights during the week, and paying about $140/night tax included. I would recommend the Marriott Bonvoy app. If every hotel app was this good, the World would be a better planet.…
My wife and I came here for one night. Good location, clean facilities, nice bed, you're in Palm Springs so it should be all cocktails and smooth sailing. But there were too many negatives for me to recommend staying here. We ran into a number of issues, particularly with trying to work from the hotel and honestly from the staff too. Let me elaborate. We both needed to get quite a bit of work done during our stay, so we asked about the 24-hour stay perk in order to meet some deadlines before checking out (my wife is a Platinum Elite member and the 24-hour time shift is supposedly one of the offerings). They said we couldn't do that because the hotel was fully booked. Understandable and unfortunately unavoidable, especially if someone else was checking into our room. That's all fair. BUT. And here's the big BUT -- they also didn't try to help us at all (and worse, see below). No offering to move us to an open room for a bit, or let us setup in any empty conference room, or anything whatsoever. Just tough cookies. And we were very clear about just needing somewhere to work for a few hours. This leaves much to be desired, but isn't cause enough to down vote this hotel. Alas, my dear TripAdvisor friends, there's more. I asked about some kind of business center or other location to sit with a laptop, but they responded as if no one had ever dare ask something so outrageous. Ok. Weird. But again not a deal-breaker. THEN -- when our checkout time arrived and we were finishing packing our bags -- housekeeping came into the room, without masks on, while we were still in it and started cleaning up! I should have asked them if they would be packing my bags, as well. And we were not more than 5 minutes over the checkout time. That is a deal-breaker for me. I don't expect a hotel to bend over backwards to accommodate me. But at least let me step one foot outside the room before you begin vacuuming over my shoe. Geez. At the Courtyard, you do have to go and you do have to get the hell out of here.…
Highly recommend this hotel. We were only there one night but will definitely stay there next time!! Hotel and room was very clean, modern and welcoming. Stayed in a king room and it was clean, bed and pillows comfy. The pool area very nice!! Used the pool and hot tub. No complaints at all!! Nice walk to downtown area.
