After one night here, the hotel decided the stay would be curtailed. I didn’t feel particularly surprised because I thought the intent was to cause distress and it was not an elegant environment in any way. I left my luggage at the Reception and received an email confirming they would be keeping it for me for thirty days. About two weeks later, I got concerned as my calls were not being returned and a UPS label I sent for the luggage to be shipped back to me was never used. It then turns out that the hotel destroyed my property well Ty days had elapsed with absolutely going against their written commitment to keep it for me for thirty days and showing an attitude that they don’t give a damn about a guest or their luggage and that their word means nothing. No compensation or response to date. I’m not sure if this is their norm with all guests but it should serve as a warning to anyone seeking to put their person or property in the care of such an establishment. The lack of responsibility, concern and regard for their word is astonishing.

Good Morning Priya, Disappointing to see this review and unfortunately since you did not provide payment upon check in for your stay and we allowed you stay a night you still failed to provide any form the next day after having several conversations with you. In our attempts throughout your stay we made every effort to work with you but those efforts went unresolved on your end. We did end up asking you to leave the property and did state that we would not take responsibility of your items. We do wish you the best in the locating of your items. Take care

We stayed in room 440. Other than the terrace door, there were no windows in the room. It was dark and dirty. Infact, housekeeping didn't come until 30 minutes before checkout. Who needs her then? I would not go back.

Our family of 5 stayed for two nights (Thu/Fri) and were easily accommodated in a Standard King Pls room. Having spent 7 days in your run-of-the-mill hotels it was nice to stay somewhere that had it's own unique personality and vibe. The hotel's not immaculate like a Fairmont, but it's not trying to be and it makes up for it with cool features that you generally wouldn't find anywhere else. Things like the outdoor communal fireplaces/viewing deck/room stationary are examples. Our room was comfortable and the king bed was exceptionally large. The shower had great water pressure. There were two pools to choose from and the the poolside service was very attentive. The coffee they served was phenomenal. The team was very responsive to our email inquiries as the detials of the booking were confirmed and very friendly upon our arrival. The standard 12pm checkout was appreciated. The hotel would be a perfect getaway for a couple wanting to chillax or a girls weekend in a fun/hip environment. The coffee at Koffi across the road was fantastic as was the breakfast served at Elmers which is a 2 min walk down the road.

This hotel masquerades itself as a 4-star hotel with all its fluff advertising and marketing, while in reality it is worse than a motel. I fully agree with another review which said that they have saved money by skipping the remodeling and passing it on as a cool vibe. Even Saguaro, which we skipped because it felt cheap and weren't sure of the quality, looked bigger and nicer than this hotel. Similarly priced hotels like Zoso don't even compare, they looked so nice (at least from the outside), we immediately regretted our decision. The rooms are Ace are dingy and dark and very old, and the bathroom barely has any space. They immediately try to lure you to their restaurant with a free dessert option, but it's not at all worth it because they serve mediocre bar food in a casual setting for the prices of fine dining. There is no elevator, and we had to haul two heavy suitcases up a flight of stairs. The service staff is unprofessional and untrained, and we received a dirty look for requesting extra towels to be delivered to our room. Parking is tiring at night, they give you a permit to park in front of your building, but there aren't enough spaces and no enforcement and the spaces are taken up by people not staying in the hotel. The only saving grace of this hotel is that the front desk staff is nice, they helped us find an item we left in the room, so thank you for that.

Good Morning, Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. We are sorry to hear your perspective on our property as it's important to us that you do enjoy your stay especially when its items with in our control like the service and hospitality or the quality of our food offerings. While we do hear your feedback on the rooms we realize that we are not for everyone as this property is an original Howard Johnson from the 1950's that we had reinvented when Ace took over, so there our some items like elevators that are not apart of the building. We are also working with ownership on renovations to add exciting elements and refresh not only to our rooms but public spaces as well starting next summer. We do hope that you may reconsider in the future as we would love to have you again. Once more thank you for your feedback

Must have a car -not walkable to downtown Palm Springs zone where all the shops, restaurants and bars are. Technology-challenged no USB plugs. Unthinkable for a place catering to hipsters and party kids and by now the majority of the global population owns a mobile phone, tablet, and other rechargeable gear. The most humble of budget hotel chains run rings around this place. Noise-plenty of it, from banging gates all day-to late night pool parties with DJ included. You’ll need some adult beverages to relax or stand near people smoking weed. Smoke-the smell wafts through the pool area and rooms above patios Beware rooms above patio rooms used by large groups of friends to drink, smoke and party into the night. The room below me with a patio was hosting a loud gathering that finally shut up at 1:30 am Room 210 should be avoided-at top of stairs, across from a banging gate to the pool that hundreds of guests must use to get to their rooms as you must walk through the pool complex to access most rooms Bring ear plugs and eye mask if you plan to sleep and ask for a room far from the party pool area. If on 2nd floor you’ll hear and feel the footsteps plus the conversations of everyone walking down the outside corriders. Window coverings are canvas panels that do not close fully and are not black out curtains. If light wakes you up, you’ll be getting up early like it or not. The outdoor atmosphere lighting on also bled through coverings Decor - second-hand furniture look- feels like someone’s first post college apartment. Mattress and box springs are on the floor. No bedframe or stand. Why does a hotel in the desert have a thick duvet on the bed? Just Perfect for 85 degree nights. Zero drawers. Just two open shelves suitable for members of Overpackers Anonymous who bring very few items. No closet. It’s an open rack like a Motel 6 No bathtubs. The rainshower head is nice but no handheld option. Bonus points for having a shower cap already in the room vs having to hike to the front desk to get one. This beats the last place I stayed where I had to use a plastic trashcan liner bag to make my own shower cap. Towels are hung up in the room vs the bathroom- nowhere else to put them Bathrobes- a plus that they are offered are made of mattress ticking-look fabric and pre-wrinkled like they have been piled up in a laundry basket The bathroom sink is in the room. More like a kitchen sink-will hold plenty of beer cans or wine bottles that can be iced down. The counter running against the back wall does offer room to hold toiletries and toothbrush for one person If you wear makeup it’s a good idea to bring your own mirror. The lighting isn’t very bright due to groovy industrial bulbs that underdeliver No full length mirror. You can see the top 1/2 only using the mirror on the rear wall. Was so optimistic when i saw the minifridge alas it was jammed full of overpriced beverages High odds you’ll be parking on the street as there are not enough spaces when the hotel is more than half full. If you return at night bring a flashlight to walk back to the hotel from dark neighborhood streets. Drop a pin on your mobile phone so you can find your car the next day. Bedside reading lights with groovy red and white bulb options are placed too high so you have to get out of bed to turn off unless you are very tall/long arms. This hipster party hotel is more focused on brand themes and second-hand industrial decor that fails to deliver on functionality. No elevators and staircases to 2nd floor are narrow. Be prepared to haul your own bags up and down and to wait if someone else is already on the staircase. Not wide enough for two people side by side at the same time. One guest traveling with a senior dog was dismayed at check in that he was assigned a 2nd floor room after explaining the dog’s mobility issues when booking

Morning Highlandbride, Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. We do appreciate all of this information and while some items may not have been for you while you were here with us others we can certainly look on improving. Some challenges we have are due to the age of the building and unfortunately items we will continue to have while others will be address in our renovations coming this coming year which we are excited for. We are a busy hotel especially over the weekends but should you be looking for a little more of a relaxed stay we would suggest joining us during the weekends especially in the Palm Springs where most of the local drive market is not around during that time. We do hope you will join us again in the future and once more thank you for the feedback.

So this is a strange one. Staff was nice but this is probably the worst of all Ace hotels. They renovated the bathrooms and didn't touch the rest. Yes, they tried to style up the rooms with some decoration but the old musty smell from the Motel is still there (yes I saw two other rooms all the same). The floors are still old vinyl and overall just didn't feel clean. Sorry the smell just reminded me of a $40 motel I've been in when I was a kid. Could be a cool hotel once they renovate it. Oh and I went to the bar asking for a cocktail.Caipirinha. Couldn't do it. Not unusual because sometimes they don't have the liquor. Then I said Mojito to which he replied sorry no mint. Then I asked for matches since front desk gave me a candle and said they would have it. No luck here either.

The Ace Hotel and Pool Club has an excellent pool space. The staff are friendly and helpful. However, for how expensive the stay is, there are more affordable options. The rooms are very small with terrible lighting. Getting ready was challenging. This was especially true of the shower area in the room. Because the rooms are so small, there was nowhere to put our suitcases. For how much it costs, the rooms should feel more luxurious. The vibe of the place is renovated motel, but not in a way that justifies the cost.

I’ve been staying at the Ace when I venture out to PS mainly because of their pet policy. $25 and they’re allowed at the pool area is a great perk! However, I don’t think I can justify the expensive stays with how the hotel looks now. It needs a huge renovation. The past 3 stays have been in rooms that need an overhaul. Combined I have stayed in rooms with a bug(not bed bugs) in my sheets, stained yellow sheets, the shower handle falling off, spiders near the pillow headboard and room patio has cushions that looks like it has mold. The pool chairs have this rope thing and it looks so worn, chairs are rusty and those cushions need to be replaced too. I understand the vibe is quirky, hipster and what not but it looks crazy old and used! To top it off, the price is super expensive. I hope management sees this and starts to renovate because I can’t spend so much money on a place that’s doesn’t look good.

Ace hotel is gorgeous, we wished we had 2 nights, 1 wasn’t enough. Staff were fine, not the friendliest but we had limited interactions. The rooms were so cool, the whole place is well styled and fitting of the Palm Spring vibe. On site restaurant and pool side was great. We borrowed the bikes for the 2hrs allotted time and biked around the incredible architecture & stopped for a coffee at Gré Records & Coffee, definitely check them out!

Such a cool vibe in the room, by the pool, in the diner and all around. There is a 1960s/1970s thousand-song playlist coming from the outdoor speakers at the main pool that sets up the vibe nicely. The room had a very comfy bed, small fridge but no microwave or coffee maker. The food menu is short but that seems to allow for faster order turn around time. This hotel is only for those who want a party atmosphere and can appreciate 20th century nostalgia. I'm going back on a weekend, when it is fully staffed and the live music is on!
