The resort is nice. Rooms were clean and the pool area was very nice. However, they include "spa" in their name. The spa is run by a third party. The spa recommended we pre-book our treatments and said it was the hotel's policy that we had to prepay. Our flight from Canada was cancelled and we were a day late in arriving. We missed our appointments and we were told we would not be refunded our money. The spa management were quite rude to us and implied several times that by asking for a refund we did not want their staff to get paid. We never said that. All we asked was if the appointments could get rescheduled. The response was that we could reschedule but would have to pay again. If the spa wanted to pay their staff and provide us a partial refund we would have been find with that. The spa management tried to deflect blame on the hotel several times and that is when we found out the hotel has nothing to do with the spa. Although the spa recommended we pre-book our treatments, we noted may times during our week stay that their was no one in the spa. After many emails to the hotel and the spa management company we finally received a 30% refund 2 weeks after our stay.

Had a great stay here. Comfortable beds, clean bathroom, nice pool and hot tub, gas fire “pits”, and friendly staff in a great location walking distance to many things. The complimentary bike rentals were also a nice touch we used to explore the surrounding areas.

My husband and I really enjoyed our visit here. We were on the third floor with a balcony view of the pool and mountains. The balcony view is beautiful and peaceful. They have some fire tables at night, which is a nice feature. All of the front desk staff were super kind. We were able to check in early. The location is awesome. It is so close to everything. Convenient parking is available with no charge. The room is a nice size, and the beds were comfy. The negatives are they have only every three day maid service. Not a huge deal, but trash cans are small. We bought some trash bags to empty our trash to the main containers. Two towels for three days are not enough. We were able to grab some extra when we saw the maid with her cart. The hotel is a little older, so no exhaust fans and the bathroom can get steamy. All in all, I would so stay here again. It is a pretty hotel with a good location and very nice staff.

Palm Mountain Resort, Palm Springs, California is a MISERABLE dump! Someone let Athena out and she “Terrorized” the people next to us 🙄. They took no responsibility and I left early because I wasn’t subjecting Athena to being labeled. Athena has traveled the country for 7 years, the last 2 - ALOT! Zero problems with her. She literally sleeps, never barks, and waits for me to get back. The manager was obnoxious and dramatic. 1/2 star bc of location. 👎👎👎👎👎

Dear David, We love and welcome our furry guests. We by no means blame Athena for her behavior. I can also guarantee you that no one from the hotel went to your room and opened the door to let Athena out. Athena can be a bit intimidating and scared the women staying next to you when they tried to enter their patio door, and she was blocking and barking at them. We couldn't reach you, and while trying to get Athena back in your room she was barking loudly and lunged at one of our team members. I think you misunderstood our interaction, as it was challenging to communicate with you since you wouldn't listen to what anyone else had to say. It was a mutual decision for you to leave early, and we didn't charge you for that day. Sincerely, Patty Davis General Manager

Very nice, clean room with friendly staff. They even offered grapefruit and chocolates in the lobby each day. Just a little extra treat to start the day. The room was close to downtown and the many restaurants and shops in the area. Also close to the art museum, which we love.

Yes, the hotel is in a great location but it is tired. Common areas and elevators are dirty, and only after staying for a few days did we learn housekeeping is only every three days. Our room had three different color light bulbs in it which just added to the whole tired feel of the property. We stayed there a few years ago and it seems to be going backward.

Dear R9168GSjeffh, I was concerned to hear about your experience with our hotel. We strive to accommodate all of our guests and their needs, and I was disappointed to hear about the problems you encountered. Having an outside property, it's sometimes difficult to keep the common areas free of dust and leaves, but that is not an excuse for providing a clean environment for our guests. On the bright side, we will be renovating our guestrooms later this year to include new flooring, furniture, lighting, paint, and patio doors to name a few. I know that doesn't make a difference in your stay, but I have heard your feedback, and we will make improvements where needed. Sincerely, Patty Davis General Manager

Hotel is in a great location for shops and restaurants. However, as we picked one of the busiest weeks of the year to stay, the property was way overpriced for what we experienced room and facilities wise. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Dear Earthtraveler1, I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. It's through guest comments like yours that we can make improvements. I'm happy to know that our staff were friendly. During certain times in Palm Springs, the rates do increase throughout the city, but I'm sorry to hear you feel you didn't receive the value you expected. Good News! We will be starting our guest room renovation later this year and we are very excited. I hope you will consider giving us another opportunity in the future. Sincerely, Patty Davis General manager

I was happy and comfortable during my stay - brought my pet (Shih Tzu) and she enjoyed her walks. There was a lot of green belts to walk her through and staff was very friendly to her. The room was clean - every little corner. I would definitely stay at the Palm Mountain Resort again and will recommend to family and friends.

The review - We arrived in Palm Springs at 1pm on Friday and we book our stay with Palm Mountain Resort and Spa. They do not allow for early check in (we called and asked), so keep that in mind if you arrive early. When we arrived to the property of Palm Mountain Resort & Spa after 4pm to check in. The check in process was good and the gentleman, David, was nice. They do not have valet or a doorman so it is up to the guest to park and bring in your own luggage - this wasn’t a huge problem. The parking spot for the property is like 1 min away with easy access to and from the lobby. However, if your room is located on the other side of the property then the walk with your belongings from the parking area can be a hassle. We walked to our room and past by the nice pool, hot tub, and fire pit area. Then we opened the door to our room (237) and we were immediately disappointed and unsatisfied! The room was VERY OUTDATED, NASTY, UGLY, DISGUSTING, and NOT KEPT UP! There were dust everywhere even on the floor (old red carpet) and you can see balls of it! We tried to close the white shutter blinds, one side closed all the way and the bottom half of the other side wouldn’t even close! There was marks on the ceiling, the walls, and door! The furniture was dented and had scratches on it! At this point we inspected the bed; from the appearance the sheets looked clean - there weren’t any noticeable stains. We walked in the bathroom and it was a tub shower combo and the stopper in the tub was broken and not even on - it was in the tub but off to the side. At this point we knew we couldn’t stay in this room. Around 5:30pm we went to the lobby and spoke with the young lady who was working that evening/night regarding our dissatisfaction and disappointment of the state of room 237 - she completely agreed with us! We asked to be moved to a better room and we wanted to see the room first before deciding if we were going to move to a different room or cancel our reservation and find somewhere else to stay. She stated that there is a few rooms left but they are all twin beds and they have been renovated and should look much better than the room we were originally assigned. She allowed us to look at room 151. Room 151, the walls, ceiling, and door was better and didn’t have any marks. The room had a smell to it but we sprayed body spray which removed the smell. The carpet was still red and had a dark stain (the size on a mini basketball) in one section - but we could place a towel down on it. The furniture didn’t have any scratches. The bathroom was much better and it was a shower with nothing broken. The mattress was placed on a plastic bin (that was covered by the red bed dressing) - so we weren’t really sleeping in a bed. We decided to move to room 151, because the other hotels in the area had no more rooms for that night. We went back to the young lady who was assisting us and told her that we will change from room 237 to 151. She stated that the cost won’t change and she waived the resort fee and apologized for the state of the room. We checked out Sunday morning around 5:30a because we were ready to leave that place. Our closing statements, the hotel employees were nice and friendly. The pool and fire pit area is also nice and clean. With that said, the Palm Mountain Resort & Spa is NOT a resort; it is a larger motel 6 with a spa! We will NEVER stay here again. There are many things the owners need to do to make this place a true resort. Do yourself a favor and don’t stay here, there are many other better hotels to stay like The Rowan, The Colony Palms Hotel and Bungalow’s, and Margaritaville to list a few. I’m hoping this honest recent review can help others when they are deciding where to stay when visiting Palm Springs.

Dear Cinde, Please allow me to thank you for your review and staying at Palm Mountain. I had the chance to see your rating and read the review that you posted and was concerned to hear about your experience with your guest room, as well as the lack of our attention to detail. I would like to start by apologizing for your experience, as we take our reviews seriously. Your comments have been discussed with our team and I will use your feedback as a coaching tool to prevent that problem in the future. We know that does not change your experience, but I hope that you can feel confident that we heard your concerns. Starting next summer we will begin our guestroom refresh which will include new vinyl flooring, furniture, painting, and window coverings to name a few of the improvements. We do not have your phone number on file so if you would like to speak to me about your experience you call me at 760-449-5003 or email me at pdavis@palmmountainresort.com. Again, our sincere apologies, Patty Davis General Manager
