Hotel Zoso strikes a balance for guests with its central location being a highlight for its proximity to downtown attractions. While many visitors commend the hotel for its clean, spacious rooms and friendly service, some have raised concerns about dated decor and maintenance issues. The lively atmosphere, including pool parties, is a hit, though opinions on the pool's size and cleanliness vary. Travelers have noted that the value proposition is less appealing due to unexpected fees and the aggressive upselling of amenities.

This property is being taken much better care of under new ownership this part year. While its dated in some ways, the rooms are large, clean and taken care of, I was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the review found in Trip Advisor.

New ownership has cleaned up and modernized the lobby, still areas that are dated but its obvious they are working on things. In the past I avoided this hotel because of the reputation, I took a chance and stayed for 3 nights. I am so glad I did, the location in the heart of downtown makes its one of the best places to stay that allows you to walk out your front door to the shops and restaurants that line the streets. Street fairs and festivals were being held within a block or two. I am so glad I decided to stay and will return without hesitation, give this property a shot, you will not be disappointed.

The pool area is fine, but very dated, too much concrete, needs softened up. Rooms are large and each has a balcony. Lobby has been updated, staff is great, you can tell they are working hard to improve the image and make guests feel welcome. The "resort fee" included valet in and out privileges with a full staff of attendants. Internet worked great too, that was included in the fee, they had bingo going in the lobby one night and had happy hour down there in the lobby.

Do not hesitate to stay here if downtown is your destination to base out of while enjoying Palm Springs.

My recent stay at Hotel Zoso during the PS Film Festival was with a travel group for 5 nights.
Pros - the room was large & at one time I think there was more furniture in it.
The people who worked there were very nice and did their best to be helpful but I think they are understaffed.
Cons - I got a room with a safe that was broken and ended up carrying the things around with me for 2 days that I would have put in the safe. After 3 requests and 2 days the safe was finally replaced.
The hotel was seriously understaffed for check-in for 200 people and many had to carry around their luggage until 6:00 & 7:00 p.m. waiting for their rooms to be ready!
The boxed lunches that the hotel provided for the group were seriously terrible & many did not eat them.
The escalators from the lower levels where there were group meetings broke several times which caused many jams at the elevators and seemed like it could be a fire hazard.
Overall the hotel appearance is rather tired and could use updating.

To be honest, I was terrified after reading most of the other reviews here. Staying somewhere else than the group I was with wouldn't have come off so nice, so I just decided to jump in head first.

Long story short, it wasn't as bad as I anticipated.

For me, the staff were friendly, helpful and in one instance, proactive. I didn't notice any weird or off-putting smells anywhere. The rooms and the bathrooms are large and quite wide. The location is ideal, close to the heart of downtown, shopping, restaurants, LGBTQ nightlife and late night eats. I didn't find anything unclean, gross or overly rundown. The beds are comfortable.

A few of us has minor maintenance issues in our rooms. I answered their text message about having any special requests with "I would not like a ground floor room." I got a ground floor room. (I know requests aren't guaranteed, but everyone else was on a higher floor. I didn't bother to fight it; it was fine though). My room didn't have carpet, which was a bit surprising after perusing the website, so not sure if that's a ground floor thing only as the other rooms on higher floors I saw did have carpet. I imagine some would prefer the no carpet option. You aren't able to charge drinks at the lobby bar to your room. Not a big deal, but odd in today's advanced world.

I can't speak to the restaurant or the pool area. I'm not sure if the restaurant was even operating, unless it was just a really, really slow weekend.

The decor and overall feel/vibe of the hotel is kind of hodgepodge, maybe like it has an identity crisis, not sure what it exactly wants to be. The hotel has an old shell, with some effort made to make the inside of the shell a bit more shiny.

But overall, it was better than I expected after reading all the reviews here. Was it worth the higher price??? (About $660 total for two nights in mid-December?) Ehhhh well, the location might save you from Uber fares if you plan to be downtown a great deal. For the purposes of our group for a quick weekend, it was super convenient. Would I stay here again? Maybe, if the price was right or not any higher than what I just paid, I'd consider it.

This is my worst hotel experience ever. DO NOT STAY here! We paid $600 a night for a crappy tepid shower where I was freezing and had to crank up the heater to stay warm. Gardner with a super loud leaf blower came at 7:30 in the morning on weekend and holiday. We called and asked nicely about these issues they told us that’s just how it is. They don’t care because they will just get money from travelers who will continue to book online. I’ve never in my life been motivated to write a negative review, this is my first negative review ever. I usually believe in only writing positive reviews, my experience here was that disappointing. You may be thinking that I’m just picky it can’t be that bad- I feel the need to tell you I am an anthropologist I have lived in the jungle for months in India with no running water, I’ve traveled across oceans on a very very small sailboat with no hot water and no showers for weeks, I’ve hiked the Himalayas without showering sleeping on straw beds. I could go on. I’ve stayed in more accommodating places for $25 with a bucket to wash myself in. DO NOT STAY HERE!

I really enjoyed my stay at hotel Zoso. The guy at check in, Chris, was super friendly and welcoming. I had booked the room last minute and he said they were offering discounts on upgraded rooms so we paid the extra $100 and got this really cute room with a patio near the pool. My kids loved it! The pool was clean and it wasn’t too busy, which was nice. The pool bar wasn’t open but there was someone available in the restaurant that was taking food orders and drinks, which by the way, their mojitos are amazing! I am a neat freak so I was happy to confirm that this hotels cleanliness is top notch! The room is a bit dated tho. Could definitely use a refresh but the amenities were nice. Great location and great service! I will definitely be back!

Hotel Zoso Is situated right in the center of all the fun venues Palm Springs has to offer...
The entire staff: from valet, check in crew, porters/bellhop attendants, to bartenders, pool staff, etc. we're all so welcoming and approachable.
The room was super clean and updated, with all the amenities: phone charging stations, on each side of the bed, large flat screen TV, mini fridge, coffee maker, a safe, cloths hangers, iron, ironing board, blow dryer, pool size towels, hand towels, wash cloths, full size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, liquid hand soap, and lotion. Our room was particularly special because it had its own patio, with sliding door access, facing the pool.

Spent the weekend at Hotel Zoso with my wife and what a great weekend it was! Friday night they had some flashback pool party going on and the DJ was playing some great music. My wife went up to request some songs and not only did she play them almost immediately, she even shouted us out as we were celebrating our anniversary. Omar, our server helped me order a bottle of champagne and some strawberries and delivered them later to my room which my wife absolutely loved. The room was lovely although I might upgrade next time as I was looking at a bike shop rather than the pool view I was offered. The rooms are clean. The beds are comfortable and the bell girl that checked me out of the room, Maggy, was super friendly and informative on what to do for the rest of the day before our flight took off. Great stay and will definitely recommend to all of our friends!

Loved my stay at Hotel Zoso. Saw it online and I was blown away at how much better it actually was! Location is great! Can't beat it! The first room I checked in was looking at a strip mall so when I contacted the front desk they offered me an upgrade to the pool view for $25 more. I paid it and it made a world of difference! Both rooms were nice but I drank my coffee on the balcony in the morning with the mountain / pool view and it was so relaxing. The hotel seemed quiet but I preferred it like that. Had breakfast and service was good. Christina at check out was so sweet! She reminded me of my aunt. Bathroom was spacious but would have liked a different amenity set. Other than that, loved it and will be back next time I'm in Palm Springs!

We paid over $2000 for 4 nights (one night was $790) and it was one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in.
Open hole in the shower ceiling, fan didn't work, no glasses, no water, dirty carpet.
When we complained at check out, the desk person shrugged their shoulders and basically didn't care.
Location and pillows were good.

My husband and I went on vacation for the first time in Palm Springs, but we made the mistake of reserving a room on Groupon and when we got to the hotel to check in we were told that there was not a reservation under our name. So we called Groupon's customer service and discovered that Groupon canceled our appointment and refunded our money. Luckily Adrian at the front desk was able to still get us in a really nice room, and he was extremely nice and helpful with everything! Adrian deserves a raise and promotion!!!
The room was on the 2 floor with a beautiful view of the mountains, and was really nice and clean. In fact the entire hotel was really nice and clean. The restaurant and club were closed due to it being New Years Day, but there is plenty of really nice restaurants with delicious food within walking distance due to the hotel being centrally located in downtown Palm Springs. Also the Palm Springs Art museum is within walking distance too.
We can't wait to go back next year!

The hotel is attempting to have a cool vibe. It was completely dead there when I wend midweek end of November so I'm sure the kids would be fine in the pool. The pool was nice and warm but again, it was more of a lounging pool deck, there certainly weren't any toys visible. I'm sure there are other hotels with better amenities for children such as grass and slides though maybe not downtown, this hotel is in a good location for walking to things.
