Detailed Reviews
This hotel was good but I do have some opinions..first the good.. this is great location. It is easy to walk everywhere in downtown Palm Springs. The pool is good size, clean and pleasant. The people who work here were friendly and helpful. But.. the room we stayed in was awkward. It had two bedrooms but no inside common area. There was a little patio outside but it was too hot and sunny to really enjoy. The other problem was the room was impossible to get dark. There were lose shutters along the front of the room where bright lights are on all night around the pool. The doors to the room had frosted glass so the room could not ever get very dark. The hotel advertises an outdoor hot tub which was one of the reasons we decided on the hotel, but it was broken the whole time we were there. For the price we paid about 500.00 a night they could have offered something in return for this disappointment. Another ” opinion” I have was on the “breakfast” they provided. I think if this is all they can come up with why serve it at all or give less stuff that looked like it came from 7/11 and provide one or two quality items. I think some of the other choices were odd. Like why a “candy bar” why not snacks and refreshments adults would prefer since it is adult only hotel. Why no bottled water in the room? It’s in the mini bar and charging 2.50 is pretty ridiculous.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We apologize that our jacuzzi was down due to a part that took a while to get. If you are looking for a common area in your room, you might want to stay in our 1-bedroom suite next time it offers a living room with a pull-out sofa. 90% of our guests Love our free candy bar, our Coffee bar, our Hot Chocolate Bar and the fresh fruit we put out for our guests. We do have a Poolside Bar for Adult refreshments. The breakfast bag contains many items for you to enjoy, Juice, yogurt, Granola bar, Fruit, Bagel, Danish, Baby bell cheese and all the condiments. We hope you visit us again soon.

Downtown location, very quiet, no children allowed and private secluded property. This is perfect for some people, the pool is open 24 hours that is nice. Its located in the heart of the downtown.
Staff could learn to accommodate requests better. I required a place to leave my luggage when I arrived as the room was not ready and upon leaving I asked to stay one more hour waiting for my flight they refused that as an option, yet only 4 rooms had been rented for that night. When I told them I would need to have them hold my luggage they said they did not have a place, but i could put them in the public area against the wall. For some reason they seemed like any request that I needed to support my arrival or departure, they were rigid in the response.

This was my first time here and I have to say i will DEFINITELY be returning!!! The rooms are very nice, the bed is extremely comfortable. The safe is so friendly ... made me feel like I was the only guest and my comfort was all that mattered!! They’re extremely COVID safe.... very alert in the pool area when a guest would leave they’d disinfect the lounge chairs and set out fresh towels! Unlike other hotels they found a way to still honor their “free breakfast “ by having you make your selections the night before and have it ready for you. Just all around a wonderful experience I highly recommend if you’re considering this hotel to just do it you won’t regret it!

I had high expectations from this hotel. Not just because of the price, but because of the descriptions, reviews and pictures.
The good: staff was pleasant, hotel was clean and quiet.
The bad: while we were lucky to get the king size bed, the mattress was super lumpy and it was impossible to sleep on it. You couldn't move without waking up the other person. We both ended up with backache and while we planned on sleeping in on our last morning, we were up at 5.30am and left as soon as the first breakfast place opened.
I was not impressed when we were handed a "breakfast bag" on the first morning. At first I thought that we missed the breakfast, but then I realized that's just the way they are. That might work in a Motel 6, but at almost $400 a night it's embarrassing to say the least. If you are not able to provide at least fresh pastry and fruit, then don't advertise the free breakfast. Neither of us is a picky eater, but the stale bagel, sugary cheap pastry and soft tangerines are not our thing.
To charge the resort fee you have to offer resort quality, but this was not the case.
Overall, overpriced hotel that has a potential to offer a lot but needs to keep up or lower the prices.
We won't be back.

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. Most of the time our guests love our Gel Top mattresses, but, if you've never slept on one you might not. As I'm sure you are aware it is a weekly basis to see what we can get from our distributor for breakfast at this time, we are hoping to go back to our continental breakfast as soon as supplies get better. Our breakfast bag contains many items, bagels, yogurt, fruit granola bars, pastry, cheese, orange juice or apple juice and all the condiments

I stayed at the Andreas Hotel & Spa for the weekend. I checked in, gave my credit card and received the key. While walking to the room with my luggage, a front desk worker pulled me aside to tell me that they were training a new person and that new employee made a mistake. The newbie charged my card for the room (which I had prepaid) plus $200 for incidentals (which I knew about). Additionally the 'hold' on my account would take 3-5 days from CHECKOUT to clear up. Therefore an additional $400.00, of my money would be held up until the following Friday. I live on a budget and that $400 that was being held by the Andreas was now not available for me to use to pay for meals and other travel related expenses. Now don't get me wrong, I understand that mistakes are made, my issue with the hotel is that once they made the mistake they didn't do anything to make up for the burden their mistake put on me. This is a spa, they have a bar, there are so many things they could have done if not to rectify the situation, but to alleviate it. Only upon checkout and receiving a complaint did they refund one day Wifi & tv cost ($23.95 and they charged me for the other day) and 2 cans of Coke.
The Andreas is a nice hotel but I will never stay there again. To the management; your indifference to the burden placed on me says a lot about your establishment.

Thank you Globe Trotting 713952 for taking the time to write us about your experience, and I apologize that this happened. As you stated we do have new Front Desk staff that we are currently training and mistakes happen. Nikki Our Senior Front Desk host did explain to you how this needed to be handled on a few occasions and you declined calling the bank. For the inconvenienced we did refund your resort fee and offered you drinks at our bar.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We booked a room with balconies which was quite lovely. No WiFi as promised and nothing was done about it. They moved us to a suite when the shower leaked into the room below (maintenance said it needed caulking). We were informed the next morning that we had to move because the suite was booked. We were moved to a basement room between the laundry and the washrooms with no view. We were also told that the air-conditioning was locked so we couldn’t adjust it. We bought a fan at Home Depot. Three moves in three days and ended up in a much inferior room. The staff, while pleasant enough, did nothing to rectify our situation. Politeness is not a replacement for good service. Again. We would never return. As I told the person who was there for our third move I was just waiting for the week to be over

StevenmG999OLK, I apologize that you had to move due to a leak in the shower in your balcony room unfortunately it wasn't, just a caulking problem and these situations are out of our control. The Front Desk Host that moved you to a suite in between was new and didn't understand not to move you to a room that was already booked for the following day, but she was trying to make you happy and upgraded you to a suite. again, I apologize that you felt room 105 was inferior to your balcony room they are exactly alike except the balcony room faces Palm Canyon where 105 has a lovely view of the pool.

The hotel staff literally disappeared and no one was available to open the rooms when my wife got locked out due to a malfunctioning key. This was at 8 pm at night. The room smelled of smoke. Very disappointing. They refused to refund due to a 14 day policy. Would do everything to avoid this hotel.

Andreas Hotel and Spa clearly states on all our check-in paperwork, your e-mail confirmation, that our staff takes a California law required 30-minute meal break between 7:30 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. unfortunately your wife's key got deactivated during this time. The front desk host handled that for her as soon as she came back. Maintenance Supervisor, Housekeeping Supervisor and Front Desk Manager, checked room and no smoke was present. However, we do have maintenance go into all rooms every week to touch up the paint due to scratches and marks from the weekend before so it could have been paint that they smelled.

Nice room, until you need to take a shower. The shower doesn't give any hot water, just cold, cold, cold, or when you keep turning it off and on then it is scalding. The first time the man at the front desk came up, and managed to get hot water, problem was he didn't wait to see that it is scalding, if you try to adjust it, even a tiny bit, it goes straight back to cold. When we called the front desk the next morning, the girl said there is nothing she could do about it. I asked for the manager, she was not there, was given her email, emailed her and have never heard back. Things like not being able to shower, wash your hair, really ruins your trip.

This property was built in the 1930s and has had a number of celebrity guests. It really is a place for couples and most definitely a place for adults who want the resort experience, not "just a room." The pool area is spacious. The public areas are kept immaculately clean. The staff is very helpful. This property is smaller than similar resort properties I've known, but the commercial strips of Palm Springs have grown up around it and it's hemmed in. The location is ideal-steps away from the Palm Canyon strip and many restaurants, from budget to expensive. Other attractions, like the Art, Architecture and Design, and Modernism museums, are quite walkable.
A few minor caveats: The parking lot is easy to miss; look for the fountain out front. There is no elevator. The hotel is downtown, so you will hear noise, especially when the fire trucks respond to a call from the station next door, or when bikers charge up and down Indian Canyon or Palm Canyon drives. The noise isolation between rooms is very good.
All in all, a great place for romantic get-a-way.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and loved 99% of everything about it; only complaint was that there was no elevator since I do have some back issues that make stairs tough for me but fortunately it's only two stories! And of course it was my fault for choosing a 2nd story room because we always feel safer in higher floors plus it's quieter with no people in a room above us. The hotel is "adults only" and only 25 rooms so it was excellent for having peace and quiet. We love kids but when on a vacation by ourselves, we really appreciated the quietness of this hotel. We reserved a king suite and it was the perfect size since it had a living room with a hide-a-bed couch and two chairs besides the king bed that was separate. The property is beautiful with 2 or 3 outdoor fireplaces to sit around at night and a lovely pool and jacuzzi. They also have a spa but we didn't take advantage of those facilities. Krystal was amazing from the time that I called the hotel to book our reservations through getting us checked in when we arrived, etc. And when she wasn't there, Enrique was amazing in helping us with anything that we needed. We will definitely stay here again!

Thank you for your kind words, All of us here at the Andreas Hotel and Spa try to go above for all our guests. The Hotel was built in 1935 and yes, we don't have elevators, but here is a bit of information on the hotel at that time...We were the first hotel to have air-conditioning....WOW, can you believe that, you would think all the hotels at the time would of had air-conditioning out here in the desert....Thank you for visiting our Hotel and we look forward to seeing you again...

All rooms are on the interior. The hotel is only open Friday thru Sunday until December 27!!!???
Don’t ask me why-seems like a poor business decision to me. We are going back the weekend prior to Thanksgiving. Good luck
No room service that I'm aware of. They have a wonderful continental breakfast for guests every morning. I think there's a small poolside food window where you can get nachos, maybe a frozen pizza or a hot dog. This hotel is within walking distance of numerous restaurants, so getting dinner is not a problem.
No it does not, you will find mineral water spas in Desert Hot Springs.
No it into a topless hotel. No
