Drift Palm Springs brings Baja style stateside to downtown Palm Springs, Southern California’s sun-soaked desert paradise. The property is located in the heart of downtown Palm Springs on Indian Canyon Drive, a 5-minute drive from Palm Springs International Airport. Drift Palm Springs offers spacious suites, with one to four-bedroom layouts, full kitchens and living areas, and balconies or patios. Enjoy spectacular views of the San Jacinto mountain range or Drift’s resort-style pool, where daybeds, cabanas, and loungers invite sun and relaxation. The hotel is home to Maleza, an upscale Baja-inspired restaurant in partnership with Jorge Espindola and Cesar Pita of San Jose del Cabo-based Roots and Roads. Locals and guests gather in Drift’s chic open-air event space, perfect for supper clubs and mezcal tastings, surrounded by a wall of cacti for added privacy. The checkin process is easy and all automated, when the rooms ready they text you the room # and door code. There's no front desk or lobby. Once you arrive you get the feel that this was an old apartment conversion and not as nice as the photos. Looks brand new of course but once you are in your room you’ll understand. Woken up at 3am first night due to random person walking through parking lot with music blasting on their radio. Following morning was woken up at 630am with leave blowing at our front door which turned into a follow up wake up at 7am with leaf blower at our sliding door 4ft from our bed. No mirror in the room besides above the sink that is textured in Black paint spots. Bring your own water! Not available in the room. Other than clean and new, set expectations low.

This hotel is amazing. I came with a few buddies and got the 4 bedroom. You will not be disappointed it felt we where at a friends house. The design is amazing and so comfortable. If you want to cook you can as the kitchen we fully stocked. Our room looked right over the pool which was so fun. You can walk to everywhere but why do you since the food and drink are the best in town. The food is just amazing. Looking forward to coming back and enjoying my hammock on my balcony more. Such a better experience going with your buddies in this room than having 4 rooms. Also the concept of self check in is the amazing. I parked and went right to my room. Anything I need was a text away.

Such a beautiful space! We stayed two nights in a 4 bedroom suite and loved it. Clean, contemporary lines with light wood, natural texture rugs and accents creating warmth. Lots of natural light. Well designed setup, with a large living room and kitchen area surrounded by the bedrooms. Allowed privacy for each of us, with the shared common space open for being together. And the large balcony! Two sliders open from the living room to outside, where we sat for long chats and stargazing. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped. A perfect setup for us, almost like renting a house. We'd also recommend the restaurant on property--they encourage shared plates, which we did and sampled some very tasty treats! Great location, great pool and cabanas, great mountain views. And very clean. Would definitely stay again.

The staff is outstanding and phenomenal. The hotel is decorated beautifully. I was shocked, at this price point especially that there was no one sent to clean any rooms during stay, no TV in any bedroom. In fact we were told if we wanted housekeeping it would be an additional charge. Advertising said frig was stocked… there was nothing in there and no microwave. The furniture looked beautiful, both indoor and outdoor … however , it was very uncomfortable. It’s too bad because the location is great, the staff truly want guests to be happy… I hope management looks at these other concerns.

Great stay for my teenage son and I! The room and grounds are modern and sleek - just as pictured. The staff was great - the bartender Jose was really nice and superb at crafting custom cocktails and Omar, the guy that maintained the pool area, was friendly and helpful. The pool servers were attentive. Ask for a direct mountain view. I am not sure how the premium 2-bedroom differs from the other 2-bedrooms -- we booked a premium but they all looked the same from what we could see and ours did not have a mountain view - so I would ask before booking the higher category next time. The only downside was that they did not grant us a late checkout.

We were teleported when we entered the thoughtfully designed private courtyard at this distinct new lodging brand in Palm Springs. The minimalist esthetic brings on the Baja mindset almost instantly. Rooms are massive, roomy, well appointed and elevate well beyond the expectations at this price point. Style is a Mexican+Scandinavian+Japanese fusion. Location makes it perfectly walkable to anything central. Highly recommend.

The photos are nicer then the hotel, I found the place on Airbnb but called the hotel directly to book. They offer better rates on Airbnb, substantially lower for the 4 bedroom and if you ask they will match it. We came out for the night from Orange County to enjoy the John Mayer concert and decided to get this 4 bedroom at Drift. The checkin process is easy and all automated, when the rooms ready they text you the room # and door code. There's no front desk or lobby. Once you arrive you get the feel that this was an old apartment conversion and not as nice as the photos. A few things they are missing here especially for the cost of this place: water, there's not even a bottle of water in the room. I asked / texted about a blue tooth speaker and they don't offer them in the room. This is a 4 bedroom suite with no music or water? It's hard to get service without a front desk or customer service agent that's onsite. We got in about 4:00 went to dinner and received this text: We have an emergency plumbing issue that we need to resolve tonight in order for all our plumbing in the hotel to function properly. The work will begin at around 9:30PM and last for 30 minutes. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. Needless to say we were up later than expected, then they text for checkout at 8am yes 8am and say if you need a late checkout it may be possible but as soon as you ask they say no. There's just not a lot of accommodating on their part, it's expensive for just a night of sleep and you'll need to bring your own water and speaker lol There's far better options IMO

Room Tip: Uber is difficult so walk to the Main Street, bring water as they don’t offer it in the rooms.

We found this place when we decided on a last minute 5-night, couple’s getaway. The hotel had been open about a week when we arrived. Most of the rooms are 2 or 4 bedroom suites with full kitchens. We booked a studio king room. A lot about Drift is excellent. The beds are very comfortable. The minimalist design is very stylish. The pool is beautiful and has several shaded cabanas. The restaurant is excellent - amazing food and cocktails. The restaurant/bar/poolside service is top notch. We spent our first night sitting at the bar and having great conversations with the bartenders. It is a short block from all that downtown Palm Springs has to offer. They have bikes and yoga mats to borrow. One word of caution - the studio rooms are actually lock off rooms that are adjacent to larger suites. At the time we stayed (only a week after the hotel opened), there was very little soundproofing at the doorways between those rooms. Until they get that figured out, we would recommend using this place for families or larger groups who can use the 2 or 4 bedroom suites and avoiding the studio rooms. When we brought this to the attention of management, they were extremely accommodating and understanding. We are confident they are going to fix the soundproofing and this property will be among the best in downtown Palm Springs. We would be delighted to return.

From studios to four bedrooms, this place is perfect for solo travelers, couples, families or large group travel. It's an incredible value being able to split a four bedroom with friends or other couples and still have privacy. It's similar to sharing an Airbnb but having the hotel amenities in addition to the kitchen was something I didn't even know I needed or wanted? Now it's the only type of travel I ever want to experience! The design of the whole hotel, the rooms, the bar and restaurant, the playlists, the staff plus the upcoming DJs that will be there? I'm never leaving.

We had the pleasure of being Drift's very first guests and we were treated like royalty. All staff are lovely and helpful. Amenities in rooms like a clothes steamer, diffuser on hair dryer (great because we had a 70's party to go to), super fast kettle, interesting books and magazines, all made us feel special. NOTE: not ALL rooms have balconies, a few have juliette. Cocktails were on point. Easy and efficient virtual check in. Congratulations, it's BEAUTIFUL property, super cool loungey vibe.
