If you are looking for a 1950’s style motel with furniture and bathroom from maybe 1970 then this is the place for you. Truly it is beyond in need of renovation. The toilet seat was wooden and chipped. Honestly wondered if I would get splinters. Floor was really dirty. I wasn’t expecting the Ritz but for almost $200/night this was awful. Staff at check in and check out were really nice.

We are a family from Belgium making a trip through the South West of the US. Last minute we booked in Caliente resort in Palm Springs to relax after a couple of days in the car. Upon arrival the manager told us we were very welcome but she warned us that the next day they would close for renovation works and that some facilities like the swimming pool would not be accesible anymore. We asked if it was ok to cancel our reservation without fees? She even helped us to contact Booking.com to get our money back. So unfortunately we didn’t stay in the place but we looked around and it looked really nice. So after the renovation works I can imagine it will be even better. The staff is extremely friendly in any case.

This place is well past tired. Much of the Pool furniture was broken, carpeting in the room was dirty and ripped, shower and sink fixtures jury- rigged to make them work. The front desk service indifferent. Our room didn't get serviced on our two-night stay.

This hotel is more like a motel. The mattress was the worst. It sank on both sides, so deeply I almost wasn't sure I would find my wife. There was paint coming off the walls and the tiles on the floor. Walls were super thin. We could hear everything all night long. The pool area is very small. At $250/night, I expected better. Front desk and bar/restaurant were above average but we would absolutely not stay at this property again.

Pros- A hip looking property with a good-sized pool and sunning area + lawn area for kids play or hanging out. Room size generous. Bathroom shower newer. Check-in was professional. Cons- My room looked like it had been through various updates. There are significant maintenance issues still to address. Blanket was old and ripped. Wallpaper peeling. Bad paint and some rusting hinges. Gaps in door where air (and who knows what bugs) could get through. Bed itself uncomfortable, could feel rails.

Carpet was filthy and water stained. Only a thin cotton blanket, only two bath towels for a double queen room. Not "vintage", more in the category of shabby and run down. Heater/air conditioning unit was so loud it was unusable. And for $307.08 a night. On the positive, the lobby was pleasant, check in and check out was easy, and the people at the front desk were nice.

I reserved a room for one night here because it was the designated starting location for our tour group. Our tour was unfortunately cancelled, therefore I cancelled this reservation. I had purchased trip insurance through Expedia because the hotel had a no refund policy. Expedia failed to secure a refund through the hotel. AIG Travel Guard, the insurance company who's policy I did purchase, denied my claim. My cancellation and claim were submitted more than 2 MONTHS in advance of my reservation. This hotel has plenty of time to fill the one room, one night vacancy. This is BAD BUSINESS!!

We've been coming here for many years. This was the first time that the pool wasn't heated. The employee at the front desk said that they don't heat it during winter months. They are trying to save money with one of their most important features. This hotel is not interesting to me without being able to use the pool They have two ice machines, both were out of service. I had to go to the store in order to get ice for my drinks. The rooms are quite run down and need work. I love this place and hope they get things done, in order to satisfy their guests. All in all it was a very disappointing stay this time.

We booked the Double Queen Accessible Room(#151) for one night(last room available) and it was disappointing. The wallpaper was peeling all over the room, Leaking sink pipes, water damage in ceiling, and a constant moldy/dusty smell mixed with stale cigarettes and alcohol. The room phone did not work. The shower head was very cheap and flimsy, lacking the flexibility it should have. The furniture and bed frames were SUPER worn down as well. What made this even more disappointing was that it’s an accessible room for people with disabilities. They deserve a comfortable, clean stay just like anybody else. It kind of says a lot about the property management if they don’t take that in to consideration. I also know other rooms are better because I’ve stayed here before and chose to book the last room available. The public areas are enjoyable. if you get a regular room it should be a decent stay but if you need an accessible room, DON’T GO HERE. I seriously hope the property makes some big changes to this room. For the sake of people who need accessible facilities. I regret giving my business to this establishment.

Came here Wednesday to Saturday just to get away from LA for relaxation. Super cute lobby with easy prepaid check-in. Jose at the desk was cheerful and friendly. The pool area was delightful!!! Not too crowded, very clean pool and jacuzzi, Not at all too cold in the pool, as other reviewers have complained of. Maybe that's because the weather was hot during our stay, but it did seem to be a heated pool. Plenty of lounge chairs and some tables. The Reef Bar is retro kitsch heaven! Yummy burgers, reasonably priced, and staff very nice and helpful. The Santos Mexican restaurant is also good, though a bit pricier. We didn't try the Fern Bar this trip. The room we had was fine, though not fancy at all. It seemed sufficiently clean. The beds were quite comfy, with extra pillows on each. These were the minor things they could work on ------ 1. They made up the beds with no bedspreads - only the thin cotton blanket, which seemed odd to me. We had to ask for more blankets. 2. The sink drain emptied slow, no big deal. 3. Water pressure in shower was very weak. 4. The TV remote didn't work. We had to call the desk to ask how to work it, and they said it only works if you hold it way up over your head by the top of the TV. 5. The only outlet by the bed was very loose and had to be jiggled to stay on. Maybe not safe? 6. The curtains aren't very dark. The sun was pretty bright through them first thing in the morning. 7. The beverage vending machines by the rooms also weren't working, but the ice machine was fine. 8. On Friday morning they had a crew doing yard work with loud leaf blowers. It went on for a couple hours. Not very relaxing when your chillin' by the pool, or trying to sleep late for that matter. Overall, we found the place charming, and reasonably priced. Would definitely come back again.
