So I got to palms springs pretty early for my daughters all start cheer comp hoping to check in my suite earlier. I understand it was sold out the night before so it was going to take a while for a suite.. so I did a pre check in, card charged 743 for the stay. Great all done.. oh no what’s come is a whirlwind of events… I finally got to check in at 2pm.. great, not great I checked my account and saw I was charged another 409 for a later reservation that had nothing to do with the first one.. I already said leave it alone I don’t know if I’ll get it. I go back she proceeded to tell me they combined the reservations and went ahead and authorized the charge without my permission.. I had no clue all I got were keys .: I was livid to her why would she do that. I already told the other girl leave it alone.. so now I’m stuck with funds being held.. she says she canceled and gave me the cancellation number.. a few hrs later I see another charge for 175!!! No one could explain this to me, the guy Jon on the back office was extremely rude, hung up on me twice, I can hear the lady that did my check in the background talking crap before I went was hung up on again.. I then proceeded down there and demanded they research this .. again it had something to do with that combined reservation that I didn’t ask for .. so here I am out of another 600 for the weekend because the bank says they can’t put it back right away 🙄.. cake topper , I’m in a king suite, my daughter is going to bed on the pull out sofa.. the bedding is not cleaned, she then notices a lumb under the sheets, my husband pulled the sheets up.. it was a dirty yellow stained towel!!!! Can’t get ahold of house keeping line is just busy . I had to call from my phone the first desk… they just send up new bedding.. My daughter slept on the hard sofa instead. For as look as it took to get in this room, it should have been spotless .. everything was half ass . Staff isn’t very supportive.. (except the front desk manger I think her name is Denise) I will be letting corporate and the hotel manager about this stay…
Fantastic Alexandra was amazing love the pool parties they had very nice rooms and were very helpful on all questions. The pool temperature was perfect… music sounded amazing. And I had such a great time. I cant wait to come back in the furure
This is a very nice hotel within walking distance (about 10 minutes) to downtown. We stayed here because we are Marriott Bonvoy members and had enough points to cover our 5 night stay. Typically I prefer something smaller. Very pretty lobby. On the day we checked in someone was handing out drinks in the lobby and there is always ice water and a flavored water available which was a nice touch. We went to Dates, their breakfast restaurant, and did the full buffet ($18pp). They had a continental for $10, plus an a la carte menu. The service there was good and the food was typical breakfast food. In our 5 night stay we only did breakfast there once because we found Koffee right down the road which we preferred. We also went for drinks at Rocks in the lobby one night. Again, the service was good, the drinks were average. Though it was too cold for swimming, we did sit out by the pool to read one day. They pool bar was not open. The rooms were fine. There was really nothing special about them, and could have been cleaner. This brings me to my only complaint which is the housekeeping. When we walked in to the room there was something crushed in the rug- which I think was a Junior mint? It was very obvious, so made me think they didn’t clean the room well before our arrival. When I did the online checkin, I chose the option of daily housekeeping, but they only came once in our 5 night stay. I asked at the front desk if they could come, but still no one did. Housekeeping even emailed me (I think their standard practice) and I asked them for To, towels and to make up the room, but still no one did. We had to go searching for a housekeeper on the floor to get toilet paper and towels. It was just annoying as we were usually out of the room until 4:00 and thought the room would be made up during the day while we were gone. I debated giving the hotel a 3/5 but everything else was fine except the housekeeping. I would probably try somewhere different if we find ourselves back in Palm Springs. Location is great though.…
I don’t usually leave reviews but felt the need to leave one after our experience here. Hotel is pretty run down once you get up and close. Stains in the carpet, door to the bathroom was damaged, and the hotel certainly looks weathered. Walls are thin, and each time a door closes from another room your room will vibrate. Heater/AC unit is old and extremely loud when running. Music from the pool was extremely loud (we were on the third floor facing the pool) and went on till midnight despite a request sent in at 10pm. Good thing we had earplugs. This hotel needs a facelift and is definitely not worth the ~US$300 a night. Have stayed at numerous Marriott properties as a Platinum Elite and this is one of the worst. They did comp our parking at $32 a night but I also don’t know why they charge $32 a night for parking when parking is free in Palm Springs to begin with……
The 5 star review is for the service especially. When we checked in, we were assigned the wrong room type. We went to the front desk and the manager, Peter, assisted us. He was able to get us a different room and exceeded our expectations in making it right. Also, during our stay, we needed help with a couple things and called the front desk for assistance. Everyone we spoke to was eager to help. There was always water in the lobby, towels by the pool and other little touches to make the stay more pleasant (hot cocoa and s’mores hour for the holidays, drinks and pie). The fire pit outside is nice and there is overall a welcoming atmosphere to the hotel. We had a suite which was spacious, had a balcony with a nice view of the pool and mountains and sofa bed. It was nice to have space to spread out with the kids. As far as what can be improved…the property is quite large and there is only one bank of elevators. It is a long walk from the elevators to the room if you are further from the elevators. They allow you to use the “staff only” elevators but those are old and need updating and you have to pass through the service area. Nothing staff can do about this but something for management to think about. The pool is supposedly heated to around 85 degrees…however my kids and husband did not find it to be particularly warm. They were able to use it during the day in the sun. Also, there is one washer/dryer on site..there are 500 rooms…would be nice to have more. However it was a nice touch that use of the laundry facility was complimentary and they even provided detergent. There is ample parking and you are right next door to the convention center and a couple blocks from downtown Palm Springs and restaurants. The grounds are well maintained and we spent one day of our three night stay just enjoying the pool and facilities. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.…
Amazing front desk staff and super comfy hotel. Quiet all five nights we stayed and loved the location. Wish I had names of the front desk staff as they were awesome. So cheap and so helpful on e wry level of hotel. I would stay here next time for sure.
If going to Palm Springs CA, I highly recommend the Renaissance Hotel. It located not far from the bustling Palm Springs downtown. The rooms are spacious with very comfortable furniture and beds. Their staff are wonderful and go out of their way to assist you with any requests. The pool area is very nice and relaxing and they serve great cocktails at Rocks. The Renaissance Hotel is the perfect place to stay in Palm Springs!!!
My family and I stayed at this hotel over Thanksgiving weekend. We had adjoining rooms on the 5th floor. The room was clean as well as the pool area. The service was exception during check-in on Thursday (special shout out to Ian at the front desk!) He really made us feel so welcome and that our business was appreciated. My only complaints are the toilets in the lobby by the restaurant and the set further back were very run down. One toilet was taped over with a black trash bag. Also, they were quite under staffed at the pool on Friday. There we no towels by the pool for a couple of hours (and there were only a handful of people at the pool). Despite those two minor things, our stay was wonderful!
Ian was spectacular at helping us check-in and feel welcomed. Really nice environment. Would definitely recommend. A lot to do in the area of Palm Springs. The staff makes you feel welcomed. If you’re coming out to Palm Springs this should be the spot!
We spend one night here this Thanksgiving. Front desk staff are super nice. Nice experience.love this hotel and gonna be back soon. I love the pool and the lobby, the service is good location is good too.
