This boutique hotel is adorable and the staff was very friendly. Although we were there only for one night, I enjoyed the stay. It was within walking distance to the places we had planned to visit for our short stay there, we just didn't realize how close! The rooms are clean and I loved the retro 60s feel to the room. We stayed in the Las Palmas room located on the second floor with a view of the pool area and the mountains. The room was spotless and very clean. I would definitely stay there again. Another nice thing about the hotel is that some of their rooms are pet friendly and since we were there for a family function, my son and wife were able to bring their dog and we got lucky because their pet friendly room was located right next door to ours! The continental breakfast is a nice touch too along with the happy hour they have for their guests! there is a restaurant right next door called Azucar that was highly recommended but we didn't get a chance to dine there because we were there for only one night and already had dinner & lunch plan at another restuarant. There are bikes you can sign out for and they are free to ride for the guests. So if you don't want to drive around to see the downtown area and you want to get some exercise in, riding one of the bikes they have to offer the guests is a great way to do it. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because when we requested a late check out the were able to oblige but it was for an extra 30 mins! I was hoping at least an extra hour. See check out is 11am but you can't check in until 3pm, so I couldn't understand why we only got 30 mins extra for late check out. That is my only negative. I would definitely stay there again.

Dear Rona. Thank you so much for staying with us at The Del Marcos Hotel. Also thank you very much for the nice review. Anything below 5 stars is a fail for us. We do accommodate later check outs when we are not as busy but when you stay here at peak season the rooms are usually full and we need to have them sparkling clean for the next guests. (We can't offer 3PM check-out and 3PM check-in.....how would we clean the rooms?) We do offer guests the chance to check out and we store their bags and they are welcome to use the pool/bikes etc as long as they like. I hope you understand that most hotels operate with 11AM check-out and 3PM check-in. Hope to see you again at the Del Marcos Hotel. Try one of our rooms that have a private deck with a fire pit and outdoor soaking tub next time!!! Lars

Stephen at the front desk was incredible!! I left my work computer and phone behind (too much fun at the pool and that sun, I guess!) and hid it so well it took a week for it to show up in the room I checked out of.

Stephen remembered I called looking for it a week earlier (!) and went to the post office,- the least expensive way of mailing it, crafted homemade priority mail box big enough to fit my laptop bag and sent it back to Virginia to me. All the while giving me updates and was just as nice as could be and refused any compensation for me being such a pain!

The stay itself was so fun at this place. The restaurant next door delivers to the pool and you can walk very close to the Main Street.

Stay here if you are going to Palm Springs!

This is a real find. It's just a block off downtown Palm Springs, so it's a great location if you want to walk to restaurants. It's a small motel resort (I think only 15 rooms) and all the staff and guests were friendly.

Breakfast buffet is included and is nice and simple (fresh berries, yogurt, bread, granola, hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, OJ, coffee and tea). An unexpected treat was the 4 pm Happy Hour with a cocktail of the day! They also served light snacks (guacamole, hummous, charcuterie, cheeses etc). We went with friends and found that people congregated around the fire tables near the pool for Happy Hour. It was great to chat with other guests from different cities.

The staff was fantastic especially Edgar. He took care of things!

The rooms were cute. We had the Albert Frey room which also included a small kitchenette.

Make sure you check our Azucar restaurant which is located in their sister resort La Sirena, right next door. The food was great.

I'd highly recommend Del Marcos.

The good:
The property is in easy walking distance to downtown Palm Springs and I consider the property safe. The rooms are equipped with everything you need for your stay including a Keurig coffeemaker and some coffee pods, a small refrigerator, hair dryer, TV with cable, etc. They also don't allow children on the property which is awesome.

The not so good:
I think the resort fee is a bit excessive considering what you're getting in return and that it's mandatory. Hey it's COVID-19 I get it. You can't do the same continental breakfast spread. You could at least reduce the resort fee temporarily.

Let me break down the $39 per night resort fee. It includes:
A $39 resort fee is charged nightly and includes: Resort bicycles, continental breakfast, parking, wifi, bottled water, and Happy hour.

Resort bicycles: Since they are locked up in the lobby and the lobby doesn't open until 8:00AM and closes around 7:00PM you can only use them during the hours the lobby is open.
Continental Breakfast: Two sets each night of the following: One Chobani yogurt, one packet of granola, one container of mixed berries and one "from concentrate orange juice".
Parking: Really? It's Palm Springs. Who charges for parking anyway. Plus, there is ample street parking right in front of the entrance.
Wifi: It's 2020. I don't think I need to say more.
Bottled water: It's actually water bottled by them.
Happy Hour: Not bad. It's one hour. Wine, beer, sparkling wine and sodas (I think) plus chips, hummus pack. I'm sure when it's not COVID-19 that the spread is nicer.

Thanks for sharing your honest review with us. Our resort fee is very competitive with area hotels. Most 3-4 star hotels charge for wifi and we include it with the resort fee. Our happy hour is generally very well received, but we have had to make some adjustments during Covid19 times.

My husband and I decided sort of last minute we’d like to spend a few days in Palm Springs the week between Christmas and New Years. We wanted to bring our two dogs with us. The Del Marcos hotel has several rooms that are dog friendly (wish there were more) and we were lucky enough to be able to book the Nat Reed room. The hotel was a wonderful choice.

The hotel is an old 1950’s motel that has been kept in a mid century style. It’s in a great location. It’s one block off Palm Canyon drive where most of the shopping and restaurants are located. That makes everything very accessible but that one block away makes the hotel very quiet. There are many great restaurants completely within walking distance which was very nice.

The Nat Reed room was great! The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with a nice sized shower. There really wasn’t any storage at the pedestal sink but there were floating shelves on the wall and also a small shelving unit for bathroom storage. The covered patio was fantastic. There was seating and a gas fire pit. There was even a bathtub out there. It was a little cool outside for me to want to use it but next time for sure. If I have anything that I think should be changed it would be the flooring. The large white speckled tiles are very period but we had two dogs with us and the soil in Palm Springs is very sandy. By the end of the day the floor looked dirty from both us and the dogs going in and out and it was crunchy from sand. Maybe a door mat or some kind of mat just inside the door?

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The person working the desk got my husband and I reservations at a restaurant that showed booked and made sure they knew our two dogs would be accompanying us. The breakfast consisted of wonderfully baked muffins, fruit, yogurt, granola, juices, and coffee. For the evening social hour there was wine, beer, drinks, chips and salsa, and a wonderful little box containing herbed pita, carrots, olives, and hummus which was really good.

I highly recommend the Del Marcos hotel and I look forward to staying there again.

Our stay was amazing but started with a less than stellar check-in - one blip in an otherwise perfect experience. We arrived in the early evening and felt like we were bothering the young man behind the desk who seemed intent on watching something on his phone rather than checking us in. The following morning when we came to the lobby, we were warmly welcomed by Stephen who made sure that we were aware of the amenities at the property, COVID requirements and made us feel welcome and special. Our room was comfortable and clean and had a unique charm, the pool was clean and inviting with friendly patrons. Again, Stephen came through with excellent restaurant and hiking recommendations. Location is one block from downtown and the hotel offers complimentary use of bikes, provides a breakfast bag (yogurt and muffin) and hosts an afternoon happy hour.

Loved our stay at this perfect retro MCM hotel! The front desk staff were great, Rose in particular went out of her way to chat with us as we came in after a day away. She gave us Great suggestions on restaurants, hikes in the area, walking trips, etc. The cocktail hour every day 4-5pm was such a nice touch! It was the time the guests all chatted and it felt like a welcome back every day. The place is spotless, maintenance was always being done overnight it seemed, as we’d get up on the morning to freshly made pool chairs and towels. The funky vibe of each individual room was really fun. Will be back! And I hope Rose will still work at the hotel!

First time to stay here, have not been able to reserve a room before, but had wanted to visit several times.
From when we first arrived to leaving, everything was excellent. This is an adults only hotel and is very mellow and relaxing. We stayed in the Eames suite, very spacious cool, fabulous decor, outdoor patio with bathtub and fire pit all to ourselves and not overlooked. We enjoyed peace and quiet all weekend. there is a liquor store across the road and we door dashed fabulous schnitzel from Johannes restaurant. There is also Restaurant Azucar next door in the Serena villas, who will deliver. It is a two minute walk to Palm canyon drive where most of the restaurants and bars are in Palm Springs.
Happy hour every day from 4pm to 5pm provides beers wines and crudities.
Stephen welcomed us and was there any time we had a question or need a recommendation, and gave us advise for returning to Del Marcos.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning.

Had specifically booked the Wexler room for 3 nights. When we checked in it turned out they had give our room to another client. Their options was to give us an inferior room at the same hotel or at a cheaper sister property across the street. By the way I am a loyal customer that has stayed numerous times at the luxury sister property La Serena which was booked this weekend. Furthermore, their only offer was to waive the daily amenity fee despite their mistake and inconvenience caused. Met Laura the GM again who had shown the same inhospitable attitude and basically said there are other hotels in PS. And yes we took our business to another hotel without the nasty and rude attitude. Will never again stay at La Serena or Del Marcos again. Beware.

Wow!!!! We are quite shocked by your review. We generally get very positive reviews about our service levels and surprised to hear you encountered anything different. We will do sometimes need to move guests into different rooms in the same category or better to fill the property. We will be sure to look into your booking to investigate and see what happened.

With such a great experience during our week long stay at Del Marcos, it’s tough to know where to begin! Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Steven, offered a glass of wine (having just missed happy hour) and shown to our lovely room which was decorated to match the cool mid century modern hotel theme. The accommodations were exceptional; with a comfy bed, every amenity we needed in the room, breakfasts with fresh fruit and happy hours with yummy appetizers. The relaxing pool area has a gorgeous view of the mountains and cozy fire pits perfect for an evening glass of wine. A huge thank you to Steven for his guidance and assistance ordering food from nearby Azucar restaurant, allowing us to host friends for an intimate happy hour. We will definitely return and highly recommend!!
