#6 of 80 hotels in Palm Springs
Travelers' Choice
The newest upscale petite, boutique hotel in Palm Springs, Dive recently underwent a major renovation in partnership with a team of LA designers and artists. Rooms are bright and airy, with furniture by Serena and Lily and Anthropologie. Colorful tile bathrooms include glassed-in rainfall showers and illuminated oversized makeup mirrors. Elegant rattan beds are covered with real Belgian linen atop mattresses by Tuft and Needle. The grounds include an architecturally significant outdoor pool and spa as well as a dramatic garden with abundant Palm Trees, elegant tree benches, canopy daybeds, and a Koi pond. Also on the property is a private orchard with fruit-producing citrus trees shading hanging chairs and daybeds—all to the sound of twin waterfalls. An organic breakfast is included with all rooms as well as blazingly fast internet, hotel bicycles and free self-parking.

On entering the small check-in office I immediately noticed that the two staff weren't wearing masks which I found concerning and we were wearing ours. I was then informed that 'we are all vaccinated here so we don't need to wear masks'. Even if this was Ok our vaccine status wasn't verified. The hotel is a refurbished motel with the rooms being of a retro theme with thought going into the decorating process especially the bathrooms however, for me the room lacked comfort. Our room although painted white felt dark as it didn't get much natural light unless we kept the curtains fully open then everyone walking past would see straight in! No drawers, no Tv + retro fridge( motor quite noisy throughout the night) and we could hear our neighbours. The mini bar was very overpriced and the bathrobe hanging in the wardrobe @ $150 to purchase! Mostly though, I was not impressed to see damp on the lower wall in the corner of our room. The breakfast was due to open at 8am, no staff anywhere at this time and finally at 8.20am they were ready to take orders. A bit of a debacle as the coffee continually ran out - the way it was being made didn't appear adequate for a hotel . Our neighbours went to Starbucks for coffee and I should have done the same. A standard croissant and fruit salad was included or scrambled eggs to order at an unappetisng price! When I originally made my reservation online I ordered a cheese/salami platter for $20 as I thought it looked appealing and would be nice on our arrival after a long drive- apparently the chef wasn't working.. and we received a platter of cheese and crackers no salami which looked nothing like the website image. The pool and garden area was quite pleasant and the fire pits are a nice addition however the rattan garden furniture surrounding the fire pit looked dirty and unappealing to sit on. There are NO staff present on the premises overnight they depart at 7pm - I've not encountered this before even staying at a small hotel. The staff were friendly and I had high hopes for this boutique hotel, but overall I feel it needs to sharpen up to equate to their prices. Charge on my credit card in full at time of making online reservation. Asked to authorise and sign for potential additional extra's whilst checking-in. Charged full amount again on departure - two changes remained on my credit card for 5 days until one was released. I could have been made aware of this.

I’ve stayed in many boutique hotels around the world, and this place is exceptional. The service is top notch and the staff happen to be the best in the business. Ashley, Stephen, Nicole, Ken…all amazing. So hard-working and friendly. We were catered to from food to drinks to whatever we needed. I will definitely be coming back!

The place was overall amazing. Great service, staff was always very accommodating and nice with us. The room was clean and had all the necessities. The pool area and lounges were accessible 24h and well maintained. Breakfast was simple but very good, including coffee. I would definitely go back to such a romantic and nice place!

Unfortunately my stay was just for one quick night on business, as I would've loved a couple more nights to decompress. The property is extremely well thought out and attractive, rooms are playful and nicely outfitted, staff was fantastic, and location was walkable to a handful of restaurants and bars. The midweek rate was very fair. The only tip I have is for noise-sensitive guests to request a room away from the main road. Definitely a hotel I'd recommend to friends and anyone else looking for a fun boutique hotel experience in Palm Springs.

Dive Palm Springs is such a serene and beautiful environment that provides the perfect getaway only 2 hours from San Diego/LA. Loved the room decor and the comfort it provided. The L'Occitane toiletry products were fantastic! It all felt so fresh and vibrant. The pool was sparkling clean and very refreshing. The music played on the property added to the relaxing, getaway vibe. All of this speaks to a place that has had much care and thought put into its design. Dive transports you to an intimate, relaxing, and carefree setting. My wife and I spent 3 memorable days here. We definitely will be back!
