Loved staying at this unique property. Every nook and corner is charmingly decorated without being fussy. Really feels more European in style, so “pensione“ is an apt moniker. Lower your expectations when it comes to refined bathrooms but again the bohemian approach is all part of the charm. I also made use of the pool, which they keep extra warm — almost as warm as a hot tub— and you can swim anytime, even under the stars.

Solo roadtrip to a quaint B&B in the desert- check! Recommended for couples, solos, best friends, mothers and daughters. I stayed in the Atlas room which is close to the lobby. That wasn't a problem. The resort is quiet. During breakfast hours, head out to the courtyard and wait to be seated. They offered two choices. Food was fresh and tasty. Welcome to take your plates back to your room. I've been dreaming of visiting this place for years. So close, yet I felt transported to a land far far away. Timeless simple elegance, impeccable service, and intentional attention to detail. This place is pure magic. It is more than a getaway, it is an experience, a whole entire vibe. Thank you Korakia Pensione for being a refuge, a place of solace for the soul. I did not want to check-out. Grateful! I'm already making plans to return. Welcome cocktail - Moroccan mint tea & vodka Salt water pools open 24 hours and heated No TVs, clocks, or radios, but there is wifi Outdoor classic movie played 2x's nightly Hot chocolate and popcorn served Unique bungalows, rooms, and suites Stone bathtub with fantastic olive oil soap Bed is ridiculously divine Lanterns, firepits & candles lit nightly Fresh hot coffee delivered to my room Delicious breakfast served alfresco 3 blocks to Downtown Palm Springs Designed for rest, relaxation, and reconnection.

Several hiccups happened during our stay that on their own would be no big deal but when put together point to this hotel is not worth the money spent. Together we were a group of four staying in three rooms. One of party had a bathtub that was beautiful to look at, but impossible to use - the tub was made of stones and was so uncomfortable to sit in that she stayed in the bath for two seconds before needing to get out. The same person also had a cockroach in her bathroom. I stayed in a suite which I booked because it had a fireplace and a kitchen. Turns out neither the stove or the fireplace were functioning so the usefulness of the room was pretty lacking. Finally and most significantly - all of the members of our party developed a rash from swimming in the pool. It is likely that we contracted folliculitis. When we reached out to the hotel they were unhelpful in trying to identify the cause and issue and had no interest in testing the pool water so we could try to figure out what happened to us nor did they any kind of responsibility for what happened. Like many instagrammable hotels - Korakia is gorgeous in pictures but when you scratch beneath the surface it is a major disappointment and not worth the price.

Korakia is best retreat in Palm Springs! The customer service was exceptional. Everyone working here was kind, professional, polite and very welcoming! They are always there to help, but they also do not intrude on your privacy. We had requested one of their more standard rooms but were upgraded to a much larger studio/house. It was absolutely amazing and their generosity was such an unexpected surprise. When it comes to service, there is no one better than Korakia. Their resort is full of old world charm with rustic touches, 2 amazing pools, beautiful landscaping and outdoor lounging areas and other amenities. They have 2 properties - they are across the street from each other. One is the Moroccan side and the other one is the Mediterranean side. Our room didn't have a TV or phone (which was great!), but we did have a huge book case full of books and a record player with records (we listened to all of them!) We also had a full kitchen with fridge, stove and seating area; a patio; an outdoor stone shower and a beautiful stone bathtub. In addition we had a back patio that led directly to the pool. We only used the Mediterranean Pool several times, but we were told we could use the other one as well, there just wasn't a need to. If you are coming as a couple to Korakia it's a great place to reconnect away from technology and stress. Their breakfast on the front patio was amazing with good choices, even for vegetarians. What did we love? Everything! The service, the grounds, the pool, relaxing outside or inside, the breakfast, ample parking, clean and spacious room/studio, and walking around the grounds in the evening to enjoy the numerous lanterns and fire pits. They even have old movies playing outside every night! It's such a serene and peaceful place to be. It's also close enough to downtown Palm Springs to walk to shopping, restaurants or the Village Fest. After reading other reviews here, I have a few thoughts: if you're an extrovert/party person - you'll love the pool scene during the later afternoon and early night time. If you're quiet and enjoy peace- come out for a morning swim and watch the sun rise, or try out the pool during check in/check out hours (11-2'ish), or in the late evening by the moon and stars. We had no problem with parking, but it may get crowded. Keep in mind that this is a historic property with unique character and charm. Comparing it to a brand new, sterile hotel is like comparing apples and oranges. None of these things take away from the charming atmosphere that is Korakia. Book a stay - you'll be so happy that you did!

I had read about this place in magazine a few years back and had high expectations, especially at 550 a night, but it did not deliver. Like other reviewers mentioned, it's a bit too old and rustic for the price. I stayed in the adobe room, which was small and had sparse furniture. There was only one outlet in room and one in the closet behind the fridge which made difficult to charge our phones. There are no blackout curtains so it's bright very early in the morning. The bathroom is small ( NY apt small) and there is no vanity to put makeup on. I did it on console table adjacent. We lost power in the room while blow drying my hair, twice. The plumbing also made loud noise during the night. Pros: attentive staff, breakfast, powerful A/C, heated pool, feather pillows, refrigerator Cons: Small, dingy, no dresser, no tv, bad plumbing, need to skim pool more frequently, curtains don't block light.

Hi Bettsy, Thank you for your feedback. The Adobe room is the original master bedroom from when the house was built in 1924 and I'm afraid that they viewed room sizes a little different back then. Now a days this is considered one of our smaller rooms. We are continuously working on renovations at the property while ensuring that we maintain the authenticity that our guests always seek us out for. We truly hope that you will visit us again in the future and give us another opportunity to exceed your expectations.
