This place is a poor excuse for a hotel. Dirty, moldy rooms with boarded up fireplaces and other peopples gatbage under the beds. The window are so grimy you can't even enjoy the ocean view. No ice machines on the propery. Not what I would expect for $300 a night. When I complained to the hotel manager about having no ice, he told me to drive down the highway to Safeway if I need ice. I told him that was unexceptable for $300 a night and then he call me an "idiot" for staying there. Michael, the hotel manager is a complete jerk with ZERO people skills for being in the hospitality business. Every 1 star review is spot on. The property looks empressive from the road, but it's just one big facade. Save your money and stay elsewhere.
Sadly, we will not likely stay at this hotel again. The building is beautiful, the attached restaurant is excellent, but the rooms, beyond being very outdated, are shabby and dirty. They obviously do a basic cleaning but this place is in serious need of a deep cleaning and rehab. Please see attached pictures. I wiped the edge of the bathroom door and it was black with grime. We were on a first floor and the noise from above was very loud. You could hear them running their jacuzzi tub and every step they took. The drain in the jacuzzi tub, which we didn't use, gurgled during the night. The screen on the window was torn. The bed only had a sheet on it - the blanket in the closet didn't look clean, was shabby looking, and had a hole in it. The only thing the hotel has going for it, besides the restaurant, is the location - across from the beach …
Stayed here instead of staying in San Francisco whilst on our trip around the States from the UK. Stayed in nicer & cleaner Motel8s. Room was absolutely filthy. Paid for a partial ocean view, think we got about 1 inch peep out of a window. Both windows in the bathrooms wouldn’t lock, very concerning. Front desk useless. Would not recommend.
Awful! Awful! Check in area appears to be the only area that is cleaned! Room was disgustingly dirty ... no COVID extra cleaning here! Actually I would guess NO cleaning! Pulled down the covers and found bed bugs! Bed bugs! Packed up and checked out! Were told the Manager would have to authorize a refund. After sending an email, and making a couple of phone calls, Michael authorized a 50% refund! He did not reply to our email, nor speak with us directly but left it to someone else to give us the news! Terribly run property!
The hotel and its rooms are getting run down. The Location is cool right across the street from the beach, but it’s right next to the highway. So bring your earplugs! There’s a big Jacuzzi tub in the room which we enjoyed, but the downfall is we were on the first floor and got to hear the people above us using their Jacuzzi tub past quiet hours and then draining it. We enjoyed the Peruvian restaurant, Puerto27, that is right on the property! They had yummy food and interesting drinks! It was a one time experience
