Our room was modern and pleasant. It was also handy to be able to park right outside. I was a bit worried we should've stayed closer to the old town / new town, but on reflection this was the perfect place to explore both - it's a 5 minute walk to the busy old town bars and restaurants. The only snag was that the Wi-Fi was fairly useless. Given this was the cheapest place we stayed on our California road trip, we were very happy.

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is well located with plenty of bars and restaurants close-by. Yes, it is in the ‘style’ of a motel, but the hotel has some good facilities. As already covered here, parking within the hotel is extra. Read previous threads for management’s explanation on this one. The suite was a good size, including a kitchen with a fridge and a coffee machine, a fire, a sofa bed and a decent size bathroom. Unfortunately we did experience an issue which I did escalate regarding the noise in the room. For guests staying in the future in room 295, just be aware that it does sit above some sort of storage/catering/team area which does mean there can be noise at various times of the day/night. It is also one of the nearest rooms to the main road. I accept I did not raise this for 2 nights, mainly because we were travelling with a lot of luggage and having taken it up the stairs and unpacked, we really could not face moving. My issue is that the noise issue is clearly known, but this room is still sold to the public, perhaps in the hope that there are enough people who will be ok with it. On vacation, relaxing with my family, that was not the case for me. I would much rather have been told the truth by management in advance of check-in and given options. Although I do understand the hotel was at best, half full. So, on this occasion, I will share on a forum what my experience was to help others in the future. I feel strongly I should either not have been given this room, or been warned in advance. The hotel is not cheap and this was my vacation time. I paid a lot of money for the noise! The First Lady I spoke with acted as if this was a complete surprise, but the second time I raised the matter with a different team member, I realised that I was not the first -person to raise this issue, and that’s disingenuous.…

What a great place, very roomy rooms, a short walk to bars and restaurants and lovely to sit outside early evening with the fire going and a guitarist playing with great wine and tapas. Very friendly and helpful staff. Never got to use the pool but looked good.

We loved our few days at this hotel, and wish we could have stayed longer. It was in a good location close to the main street with plenty of restaurants which led down to Old Fishermans Wharf. Our room was spacious and spotless. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a lovely meal in Estebans, and sat outside on the patio after. The pool was a bonus to relax in at the start/end of a day's sightseeing. Would love to return and would recommend to anyone spending time in Monterey.

We ate at the Esteban Restaurant twice - it was so good. The service was very nice, the food excellent, and some very good wine choices by the glass. I would recommend the Secreto Iberico dish - rare to find and a wonderful small plate (order the sauce on the side so you can test that meat in all its glory). Just delightful all around - well done team Esteban!

We stayed here for two nights in late September. Compared to what we paid for other hotels during the same road trip it was not good value. The rooms are comfortable and a good size. Unfortunately the hotel is located on a busy crossroads opposite two petrol stations and a Denny’s. You park outside your room so perhaps it would be better described as a motel. The restaurant is not open for breakfast and the Tapas meal we had on one of the evenings was again expensive and not particularly memorable. Probably not a hotel we’d revisit.

I've stayed here before as it's perfectly situated about a 15 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf and 5 minutes from Alvarado street with its fine restaurants and pubs. The Fieldwork Brewery is a few doors down and the Alvarado street brewery a little further on Alvarado St. Mine is the Crown and Anchor. The hotel is dog friendly. The staff couldn't have been better or more helpful from the front desk to the room service and the maintenance folks. They were so very helpful throughout. On the last night I had a cocktail on the patio at the Esteban restaurant attached as a classical guitarist provided some relaxing background music. Heading the other direction up Munras Avenue a few blocks there's a nice little park and small lake the dog will enjoy if you have one. Altogether a pleasant experience. Carmel and Pacific Grove are close by but if you'd prefer a more rural setting head south on the Ca route 1 for about 12 miles then take a left heading east on Carmel Valley Road. We so enjoyed our 2-week stay at your Casa Munras Inn where we celebrated our 50th Anniversary. The guest rooms at your inn are very comfortable and cozy with the fireplace and sizable room and bathroom. Housekeeping service was excellent when we requested their services. Very pleasant that we could open windows when we chose to capture some of that fresh coastal air. We were received very well by Sarah upon our arrival and assisted throughout our stay by Henna, Joslyn, and Sarah. We were very pleased with the services provide by all of the personnel, including housekeeping. Eddie is very helpful indeed. Their Esteban Restaurant has a beautiful new DINING PATIO. The patio has created a flow from the restaurant into a lovely European-type patio/garden with cozy-fireplace seating and tables, and beautiful scenes of trees, hillsides, and sky. Great location nice restaurant very friendly staff and exceptional housekeeping. Wish our room had an outdoor seating space but we enjoyed the pool area as a compromise. Recommend the Taps especially the octopus so good.

A historic Inn and location a short walk from the tourist sites and "must see experiences" of the world famous Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf! Outstanding Staff starting with John R. at check-in to Judy in Housekeeping, and the amazing team lead by Elimar and Chef Ben in Esteban Restaurant, the entire staff is outgoing and friendly. After 5 nights here...its hard to leave!
