Hotel's Favorite
We used this hotel as a base for driving around and hiking in Big Sur and it was a great base for doing just that. The hotel is very close to Highway 1 so it was very easy to start our trips each day. Also nice that there are lots of restaurants and food options in Monterey close to the hotel for dinner options at night after a long day of sight seeing and hiking. Staff are helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was also fresh and reliable. We did not have to pay extra for parking and was always able to find a parking spot at the end of the day.

My husband and son stayed here a few nights to get there diving certificate. My sister and daughter stayed at another hotel since this one was all booked. The Hampton Inn was way better. My husbands room smelled fresh and had a seal on the door shoeing it had been cleaned. My sister and my room was just as expensive if not more and smelled stuffy and closed in. I would book the Hampton Inn again when we come back. Nice location as well.

This is a smaller hotel which makes for less people even if full. The cleanliness seal on the door is comforting in these Covid pandemic days. We had a corner room facing the pond and Del Monte Blvd but, the road noise was not intrusive or bothersome. Our only problem with the room was a slow draining bathroom sink and the absence of a microwave oven. You must go down to the snack area in the lobby to use a microwave oven. The breakfast was great with hot waffles, eggs and sausage. It was nice to see this kind of breakfast again as many hotels dropped this during the pandemic. There is only one elevator and access to it in the lobby is a little crowded and difficult to maintain distancing. Upstairs, there is no problem with access to the elevator. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here. The location is great and access to beaches, scenic sites, the wharf and aquarium is quick and easy.

Sanitizing commonly touched areas such as room/bathroom handles, remote control, & hair dryer handles should be prioritized. These were all areas that I found were neglected to be wiped/cleaned/sanitized. Otherwise the room was clean, sheets & linens were clean. Friendly polite front desk. Nice assortment of breakfast food items

This was a great location for a quick getaway to Monterey. It is right in front of the Monterey Coastal Trail, a bike/pedestrian path that goes all the way to Pacific Grove. We brought our bikes and were able to ride down to the old wharf in about 20 minutes and 40 minutes down to the Aquarium. Walking it took us about 45 minutes or so to get to the wharf area. It was nice to not have to deal with parking and the weather was great for walking/biking with layers.
The staff was super friendly and our room was clean and modern. The breakfast was fine, standard Hampton Inn fare with eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereal etc. as well as the very popular waffle machine.
Definitely a great place to stay in this beautiful area.

We did a family trip to the Aquarium; and found this hotel off the Aquarium website. Hotel was a very short drive from the Aquarium (like 4 miles); which was a HUGE plus when you want to get to the hotel before the kids fall asleep!! The hotel was VERY clean, staff was friendly, check in was quick. Our room was perfect! We got the suite so we could have a separate bed and room so we didn’t have to worry about waking the kids after they went to bed! Breakfast was so much more than wrapped pastries. Our only issue… our daughter wanted to stay more than 1 night!!

Out of the 5 hotels in which we stayed on this 10 day CA trip, this was by far the worst hotel due to it's location between several noisy highways and other streets.
Because we had such a good experience with the Hampton Inn in Scranton, PA, I decided to try this hotel. Never ever again.
Even with the a. c. running all night long it couldn't block out our noisy neighbors or the trucks on the highways.
We had two queensize beds with terrible mattresses which need to be replaced by new mattresses very badly. I recommend getting memory foam mattresses.
No walk-in shower available. :(
This was definitely over-priced with $ 221!!!

No microwave in rooms, no laundry facilities of any type and a business center without a computer?????? Parking very difficult unless a diamond member, (good luck at new customers Hilton). Stayed in a double queen, large spacious room, with one chair, DOUBLE QUEEN???? Yes, 70 year olds love to sit on the two plastic ottomans under the counter. Room was exceptionally clean, staff were superb, especially apologizing for lack of amenities. Breakfast was pretty good. Don't stay at Hiltons often but was on trip with a diamond member and he was surprised also at lack of quality of amenities. Oh forgot - good location to freeways, and some fast food, just try to avoid all the homeless and panhandlers living adjacent at the lake.

We had a free Hilton Honors night to use before the expiration date, so decided to take a quick trip to Monterey. This was the only hotel available on such short notice. Unfortunately, we were so disappointed with the hotel, we decided not to spend the night and drove home the same day we arrived.
ROOM: The room generally felt run down, old, and cold even though efforts were made to make it appear modern. Walls were paper thin -- we could easily hear the conversations of the family next door.
SERVICE: Average and inattentive.
LOCATION: The hotel is not an ideal location to see main attractions in Monterey.

I was in town for a Housing Summit at the Asilomar Conference Center. Not knowing the area at all, I had to rely on reviews. I chose the Hampton Inn as it was close by and reasonably priced. As with all Hampton Inn, breakfast is provided and the coffee is always hot and delicious. I could not believe how big the rooms were and the bed was extremely comfortable. My colleague and I talked about it the next morning as we slept the best we had in a long time. Parking is easy and the hotel is located right along a paved trail for easy walking if you want to take a jaunt downtown. I would highly recommend!

Most likely they mean either a queen or king but not both plus a sofa bed but agree you just need to call hotel directly
Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, there is air conditioning. The Monterey area is located near the ocean, so temperatures are typically more moderate that inland California.
