Easy to find, plenty of free parking, pleasant staff and very clean. Reasonably priced too. However, there is a strange smell throughout that I couldn’t put my finger on. Rooms around the back have the advantage of being woken each morning at 5-6 am by a reversing dumper truck. The thing that I really didn’t like is the amount of plastic being tossed every day from the breakfast. I’m no environmentalist, but I hate needless plastic use. Literally everything from cereal packets (bowls), cutlery, coffee cups, the lot went in the bin and onwards to landfill. With a kitchen and plenty of staff they could easily use a dishwasher and re-useable crockery and cutlery. That said, our stay was enjoyable and comfortable.

I was pleasently surprised at the quality, conditon, landscaping, and design of this Best Western Plus. Beautifully landscaped is the first impression. Inside, the lobby and our room were so peacefull and calm that I could feel my stress level drop! The pool area was on the small side but so clean and neat....and working!! The beds was a dream. The only disappointment was no microwave. The fan was plenty. Having grown up in the area I knew no A/C wouldn't be a problem. But the fan was great to have still. I had made the arrangements and chose this hotel so I was happy that it was so wonderful. Great value! We will stay again! Staff and property were supurb. Parking was great and it is not that far to the area's we wanted to visit.

I personally didn't like this hotel which we first arrived. However, the beds were comfortable and the room was spacious and quiet. However, the breakfast was terrible. There wasn't much choice and when I went to add sultanas to my cereal the spoon in the sultana bowl had hardened yogurt all over it. Yuck! This hotel is good for a one night stay on the way through to another place, but that's about it.

Our stay here was fantastic. The room was very large and spotlessly clean. All linens were like new. The bed was super comfortable. Bathroom facilities were sparkling clean. One thing we really appreciated was that there were two comfy chairs in the room. Usually, one of us is sitting on the bed or the steno chair (if there is one). We got some food to bring back to the room and swung the chairs around to face the sliding door and ate while enjoying a fresh breeze and birds singing. A special shout out to Alan. He checked us in quickly and then took the time to tell us everything we needed to know. He was so friendly and pleasant. Our only complaint is that we were there for only one night. We would have been happy to stay longer. Easy walking to town and the wharf etc. We will definitely stay here if we are ever lucky enough to visit Monterey again. …

This hotel is great. We stayed here on route to complete Highway 1 from San Francisco to San Diego. The hotel was great, the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. The pool is small but adequate for a quick dip and you can also use the hot tub. You can walk into Monterey from here. Monterey is fabulous and the seals in the harbour were an added bonus. There are other hotels on this road but they are further out and not within walking distance of the town. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Not for families with children. Or others. Perhaps our worst stay ever on I95. Mildew reeked from all over the room. Airconditioner was contaminated. Even the water coming from the bathroom faucet was contaminated with mildew. Unbelievable. We had to go out and purchase bottled water. Air conditioner did not work properly. Perhaps a blessing in disguise since it was mildew contaminated. Elevator was hot. No ventilation or air conditioning. Pot smoke throughout hotel floor. Unconscionable, considering families stay at hotel. Breakfast was minimal, they ran out of their eggs, fruits, and were slow to replace. Hotel is old. Needs to be torn down and rebuilt, so many structural and functional problems. Staff polite, but I will avoid the Best Western Hardeeville in the future.…

Such a lovely hotel seemingly newly renovated and 5 blocks from Fisherman's Wharf. Pizza and Chinese food across the street and underground covered parking. Breakfast was very plentiful and delicious and came with the room. Customer service from every employee was exemplary. Our corner room had two king beds, a couch and two chairs. We definitely will be back.

The staff was very friendly during our entire visit. We had a double king room with a fold out couch which was very spacious for the four of us and allowed for some separation of our 15 and 12 year old kids. The pool was well maintained and heated which was great considering it was only 65 degrees during our stay. The attention to detail with the landscaping on the property made it feel very comfortable. The only potential issue is the breakfast area can get crowded if you go at peak hours. Since it was chilly outside nobody was using the outdoor seating which also made the lobby area a bit cramped. The food was good and well stocked throughout the breakfast hours. Walking distance to everything you want to do in downtown Monterey. I would gladly stay again.

We have stayed in many Best Western Hotels, including a few in this area. This is by far our favorite! We have also stayed in other hotels in the area, including oxen front but this is a better quality.

NO HOT WATER IN SHOWER. Started the control at the bottom, moved to the top, there was no hot water. Advised the front desk. Explained ran the water for a very long time, at best lukewarm. Next effort, only cold. Response from the front desk:" I can't do anything about that, Manager would have to give you a discounted rate, she's not here." No offer to come check it, to have maintenance come to the room, to offer another room's shower to at least get clean. Had to leave for airport. After 3 phone calls to front desk, 3 messages for the Manager, she refused to take or return the calls. DON'T STAY HERE unless you like cold showers and bad service.
