Booked my stay a month in advance and my beach front room was not available. I did not get a phone call stating that my room was going to be unavailable. The hotel was littered in construction noise and the path to the rooms was not clear. It was frustrating navigating the area at night since it was dimly lit.

Entire hotel is under renovation. No beach access, no beautiful lobby to access, no outdoor amenities, such as fire pits. Scaffolding & tarps surround the hotel, hallways are not lit. We had to use the flashlight on our phones to find our room. Hallways blocked with Do Not Enter signs. Newly renovated room had non functioning shower, & no in room phone. They moved us to a room that was not renovated with a faulty AC unit, 2 queens, when we paid for a king room.

This was supposed to be a nice weekend getaway for my wife and I but the hotel was under construction for renovations. Half the hotel was closed down as well as the parking lot. I was charged 45 dollars a night for parking my own vehicle. You would think this would be included in the room charge. My wife is 32 weeks pregnant and no where, when booking online using their website, did it state the hotel was under construction. I was displeased with the safety and would have stayed somewhere else if I knew about this.

Feb 2024 room renovations and construction 8 - 5 lots of noise. Once that is complete (Summer 2024 projected) this could be first rate. They also need to update linens. Restaurant was very good. Oceanfront -0 so views are amazing, and great sleep - all night gentle sounds of surf lulled us to sleep.

The hotel is under construction, and the staff did nothing to make our stay pleasant. Everything about this stay was terrible. We reserved three oceanviewt rooms months in advance and upon arrival were told that they only had one ocean view and two would be freeway facing. We were not given any warning that the entire hotel is under construction. I've never seen a hotel still open with the amount of construction that was happening. I don't understand why they didn't close half the hotel and keep the other half open for guest. It was a mess and there were shady looking workers all over the place. I was traveling with high school girls and I was very uncomfortable. Just overall I was very diappointed. We've stayed at this hotel before and this visit was awful compared to all other visits. The staff needs to get a clue, and should e bending over backwards to make people happy under these conditions.

The facilities don't look like the pictures on the website. It's a nice motel 6. The walkway to the rooms are in front of your window to the ocean, people would stop and look in at us drinking wine watching the ocean. Rooms are dirty and carpet is torn up. The staff was nice and the food was good but that was the only positive of this place. Stay in downtown Monterey for the same price.

$300 a night to listen to Jack hammering all day long. I was shaking from the noise. Front desk response " It will stop at 5pm " I can't believe they are booking rooms with no warning regarding the construction . This should be illegal.

We have stayed at this hotel once a year for over 20 years. Over the years, it has really declined, but this year was the worst. It is clear from the sloppy paint patches inside and outside, rust, cheap paneling in the elevator, and old, chipped furniture in the room, that high quality maintenance has not been a priority for quite a while. They charge $25 'resort fee' per night, but this is no resort and the tiny 'fitness room' was closed due to construction. They charge $40 per night for parking. The location right on the beach is breathtaking, so it pains me to say I would not recommend this hotel, especially for the price.

We were not informed at time of booking that MAJOR construction was under way. Room was damp and bathroom very cramped. Toilet plugged twice during 3 day stay. Service was excellent and maintenance came right away to fix. You are paying for the beach & view which is fabulous. When construction is completed the hotel will be outstanding.
