The restaurant staff of Dennis, Jennifer and Carlos were incredible. They made my birthday on a rainy Thursday evening feel like a 5-star experience. Grateful for the complimentary wine and celebratory atmosphere. Looking forward to my next visit, will recommend to a friend.

This is an older hotel that has been nicely updated. The rooms are not fancy, but we had an ocean front view and that was incredible. The staff was so incredible, friendly and helpful. The hotel is north of Monterey in Seaside and the beach was amazing! Lovely fine sand and easy access for beach/dog walks. They have fire pits, bikes, a pool and hot tub. The bar is dog friendly with live music and amazing ocean views.

Terrible filthy facility and rooms, totally gross floors in hotel room, STAINED washcloths, even the upholstered chairs in the lobby were disgusting. Couldn't wait to get out of there, if you want clean and nice book the Sanctuary Inn a few miles away, I complained to the facility but had no response so I have no choice except to write a truthful review.

First off let me say that my 5 start rating is due to the exemplary customer service we received specifically from Sheevani. She made our whole trip worthwhile. She was very knowledgeable about the grounds and the area and since the hotel was not at capacity was able to place us in a wonderful room. She explained the cocktail hour And the special drink that we would receive bartender special as opposed to a glass of wine and we enjoyed that in full view of ocean front where we proceeded to watch whales and sit by a crackling fire. This may be the best view in Monterey as far as ocean front goes with large waves and a deserted beach. It is even dog friendly and my mom has a service dog and next time we will bring him. There is no extra charge for service dogs unless there is damage I am told. The rooms have extremely comfortable beds and great ocean views if you opt for that. Those are all the pros. The Cons they still charge you $20 for parking In an unsecured area Even spending well over $200 for the room plus there is a $35 resort fee on top of taxes on your reservation , the pool/spa closes way too early for a night of enjoyment in the nice crisp air. I believe it was 7 o'clock. The rooms and the exterior are in need of great help. They have not been remodeled evidently in years so it is very rustic ocean cabin décor in need of paint and upgrades. Tiny bath room. The good news is we had a nice deep tub. There was a horrendous single cup coffee maker and no microwave I would highly recommend this hotel if you are interested in ocean views and a walks on the beach And a wonderful walking trail .. possibly taking your dog these are not ritzy diggs. There is a non refundable $100 one time fee for dogs.

The place is in Seaside, the low rent town next door to Monterey. It is old and very unattractive on the outside. Views are spectacular--it is right on the beach at the East end of Monterey Bay. There is nothing there but the beach. You have to drive or bike or walk 5 miles to Monterey, further to Pacific Grove. Beach is wonderful. Rooms are not. it is clean but old and way out of date. Bed was fine. shower was excellent but fixed on wall. Should be on hose for best use. Bathroom very cramped. Faucet in bathroom had no water pressure on cold, fine on hot. Bar is very attractive and food was good. Staff was excellent. They hit you with undisclosed and very high "resort" fees and $20 a day to park in an open, unprotected parking lot accessible to anyone. I would not stay there again.

Thank you very much for your compliments and I'm sorry that you did not like the location of our hotel, which sits directly on the beach. Though we are not in downtown Monterey, we are right off of the highway and a 7 minute drive to downtown. Looking forward to welcoming you back next time your travel brings you to Monterey! Monterey Tides was a huge disappointment. The staff were rude, the first room I was in was a fire hazard the heater did not work, the outlet had burnt along with plug to heater and was left in room and not replaced, our room we were moved to the toilet did not flush. I informed the front desk and was given a refund of $20. Parking fee for our troubles. This hotel on the beach does not deserve a rating! I took my mom to spend quality time and enjoy our trip even if it was short. Disappointing

Even number rooms get nice ocean views and sounds. Odd numbers get highway views and sounds. This hotel is right next to the highway. Front desk didn’t pass on info like wifi password (not found anywhere on signage) and available breakfast info was only communicated by confusion signage. Had an issue with booked room. They moved us but the condition was in worse condition with chipped wall paint and highway sounds and barely an apology from anyone. It was an expensive motel stay.

Our family took a last minute trip to Monterey and the surrounding area during winter break. This was a last minute booking and we liked the idea of being right on the water so we booked a water front room. When we got to the MOTEL the receptionist was on her cell phone chatting for at least 5 minutes before I went to another staff member to ask where check in was. He pointed to the female chatting on the phone. When she did eventually talk to us they did not have a water front room which we prepaid for. She said if we came back after dinner she’d have it figured out. We came back after dinner to find a queen bed. We booked two queen beds and a waterfront room as our son was with us, they said they send a cot up. Two hours later and several visits to the front desk …… no bed and we’re exhausted. In he end I asked for any available room with two beds. They put us on the first floor by the garbage. Honestly we didn’t care we were so tired. They still charged us for the water front room. It was such a nightmare I just wanted to leave this place. It’s really basic. Staff are really rude and could careless about service. I wouldn’t recommend this motel if they were giving free accommodation.
